      You can’t have a gay Christian.
      You can have a blasphemous person that’s gay, but homosexuality and Christianity doesn’t mix.
      Scripture is quite upfront and direct about how God feels about homosexuality.

If there is a problem with what she is saying there is a problem with the Word of God which she clearly displays. Her calm demeanor wasn’t my source for my comment. She said everything based on her own experience and scripture, which if you are a true christian is the proper way to deliver scripture. With truth in love. It's teaching me something that if I want to reach someone's heart to share the gospel, I need to find common ground with that person and show that I can understand and relate to them and even though I do relate and understand, I still choose Jesus because it is right and He is the truth.

      Just a question, can you explain how ppl choose to be Bisexual? Also, I’ll give you an example, why is it when men/women become incarcerated and have been straight all their lives then all of a sudden then become Gay when they enter jail. Is this based off of just sex/dominance or is there an actual attraction?

    • @carolinebartle6379
      @carolinebartle6379 2 роки тому

      @@tylermasonheimer799 Thanks for responding! Like being gay, bisexuality is also not a choice. People who are bisexual have been their whole lives and always will be, even if they realize it later on in their lives. As for your example, I am by no means an expert, but I would say that people who have been incarcerated are traumatized individuals. While some may be gay, some may just need the comfort or what you said, sex/dominance of a same-sex couple. However, do not take my word for it. I am not an expert.

      I don’t think its a choice. Being attracted to people is not a choice, but the choice is deciding to go along with it or reject it. Its like, as a heterosexual, being attracted to several guys but then choosing which one to be with. Or choosing none of them. As Christians I think it’s important we understand this. I hear people too often make it seem like you can just choose not to be gay. You definitely have to make choices against it if you do have that attraction but want to change it.

    Not every thought we have comes from us. This is great to truly know and understand, or we would all be crazy! Thoughts can come from our flesh (ourselves), from God, or from the enemy (Satan and his demons). Learning to discern between these thoughts is crucial and is really a battlefield of the mind. We begin to become stronger in overcoming and taking any thought not from Christ captive. It doesnt mean the thoughts from our flesh and the enemy wont stop coming; we just become more equipped to handle them. When we submit to God even in our thoughts and resist the devil, the devil will flee. Also, we renew our mind with the Word of God which is life and truth to our very spirit! The Word brings peace and understanding. It brings purpose and clarity and beautifully lights our path! May I encourage those who read this, question the voices or thoughts that come to you. The key is being born again. When we are born, we are not born saved, or a Christian, a Muslim, a Jew, a Hindu, etc. We are born as flawed human beings with a sinful nature that seeks its own pleasure. When we are born again through the power of the Holy Spirit, we receive the strength and power to live a new life in accordance with God's intended plan for humans to reflect his glory. Sexual orientation is a social construction that does not reflect God's glory. It reflects the human being's desire to be his/her standard for righteousness. The bible never speaks of sexual orientation; it only speaks of sexual behavior that is either inside or outside of God's plan. As a woman who has and still at times struggle with same sex attraction, I now understand that SSA may have come as part of my natural birth as a flawed human being, but it was nullified after my spiritual birth. I'm still flawed, but I no longer have to be a slave to the dictates of my body.

    SSA NEVER goes away, and getting a crush on a specific person still happens even after decades with an amazing opposite sex spouse you'd never ever cheat on. I never stop wanting to eat 3000 calories of ice cream or pizza or donuts either, but I'm mature enough to resist temptation much better now. I want better results for my life. Living by emotions produces mostly terrible results over time, often immediately. I learned that SSA usually means we admire beauty or skills or personality that we either really like or wish we had for ourself. There's no need to think SSA means we must touch that person sexually. Even happily married heterosexual people occasionally REALLY notice something admirable about others opposite sex people. Don't touch. Don't divorce to be with that other person. Just appreciate the likable things and get back to thinking what's likable about your spouse. No one is born doomed to do premarital sex either straight or gay, not supposed to divorce either. Properly done Studies have shown what's best for people to do and what's mostly problematic. God only commands what isn't easy for us. "Pray without ceasing " is one command I'm working on memorizing.

When I look back at myself, I was in such a dark place even aside from just thinking I was gay and having anxiety about it. It wasn’t worth it to me to have so much change over something flesh-driven. Even though Ive began to rid myself of those thoughts and the whole lifestyle in general, I still have felt the battle of temptation and lust since, which I absolutely refuse to lose to. I now focus so much more on my soul than I ever did before. Regarding the activist woman, God did create us and rules our souls, BUT there is an evil force that creates negative feelings, which is why people have these battles followed with self hate, lust, and confusion that make them want to run to the people going through the same battles and stay there. She said herself she’s glad she has that community to run into the cave with them. That’s not a feeling from God.

    I respect religious freedom and i respect all people who aren’t hurtful to others. However, you cannot be an “ex-gay”. You cannot change your own sexuality. Conversion therapy is dangerous and hurtful and should be banned, especially if it’s not consentual. Just as you can’t make a straight person gay you can’t make a gay person straight.

      Just because you dont believe in her testimony does not mean that it invalidates it.
      It's her life and her experience. You don't know her personally and you were never a part of her life to know what her life was really like to come to the conclusion that she's not ex gay and that she's still a lesbian.
      Plus you don't believe in God or his word but she does qnd experienced it herself.
      She willingly chose to follow God and was not forced. She went to that Bible study because she chose to.
      There are plenty of gay people who were forced to go to some therapy and they did not change. They said it themselves. It was hell for them qnd traumatized them.
      But she did not go to therapy. She only went to a Bible study. She wasn't forced. And she changed for God herself not because someone else forced and told her to.

    I know men that were gay, and are now born again and seeking with all their hearts to have a wife and kids. God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble and will deliver any gay person from the spirit of homosexuality. Because all it is is a corrupted spirit of lust that comes out when a person repents and is delivered. But the hard part is being humble and accepting you need help and repenting. But anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved! And His word does not come back void. What He said will be fulfilled. Those who tolerated this are now embracing it today, and tomorrow they will fight against us until we are silenced. With what authority do I say all this? Since I was born again I don’t practice sin anymore and I’ve cast out many demons out of people that comes out screaming and kicking with power of the Holy Spirit. Believe the Word, it’s true. This life is temporary, eternity is forever, put your pride aside and come to Jesus, He is God who became flesh so that His creation will know Him and be saved through Him. God bless.

    There is a lot of discussion here centered around the Christian girl, who was very well spoken for sure. But I can relate with a lot of what the LGBT individual was saying.
    But something that wasn't really dug into in this conversation was the how members of the LGBT community has been treated by the church. Countless individuals today have been shunned from their families or exhiled from their Church for the mere mention that they could be gay.
    Often left to their own devices and abandoned in a world where their only "help" or "guidance" they receive from the church is to suppress your feelings, while their hetero counterparts have their sexuality and marriages celebrated in front of them, while they are "blessed" by being alone, and dealing with these extremely confusing feelings on their own. Picture for a moment about what that feels like. It's not just a trial that they have to work through, but something they'll have to endure for their entire life..
    The LGBTQ girl says she still believes in God. Which is fantastic. But if the church really wants to make a difference and save souls they need to find a better way to reach out and relate to gay individuals. Acknowledge possible out of context interpretations of the Bible, and stop trying to convince LGBT members that God will change your sexual desires because He won't. It can be argued that He's the one that. Put them there in the first place.
    Anyway. That was pretty drawn out. Both girls did a great job in this video.

    • @SamOwenI
      @SamOwenI 4 роки тому

      Of course one cannot defend how every church and Christian has responded to homosexuality in their families and friends. However, balance and clear distinctions need to be made. As the Christian in the video said, she believes those who practice homosexuality "will not enter the
      kingdom of God." The view of homosexuality in the bible is universally negative and husband-wife marriage celebrated, affirmed and honoured far more than American secular society does (the bible teaches God himself puts husband and wife together in marriages). The New Testament teaches the local church to bring discipline to members who profess to be Christians and yet refuse to recognise biblical sexual ethics. So that means disfellowship etc.
      Yet, the bible also teaches "such were some of you. But you were washed, sanctified, justified..." (paraphrase of what the Christian quoted). The bible also talks about the forgiveness of sins through Jesus, and that is what all people need.
      Point being, we need to be fair to Christians who are trying to do what the bible teaches and draw lines where they need to be drawn. Indeed the church always needs to show love to fellow sinners at the same time.

    • @metroidhalo2
      @metroidhalo2 4 роки тому

      @@SamOwenI the Bible also teaches in the same passage that eating shrimp, and pork and wearing two different types of fabric is a sin.
      Yet people today pay no attention to those verses. It's probably because they paid attention to the context I in which those verses took place. Eating pork and shrimp for example back then was an extremely dangerous thing to do because their flesh can cause a human to get sick.
      In the context of homosexuality, being gay wasn't uncommon it was a normal thing to do, some scholars read it in terms of of the context of what was happening at the time which was a population shortage, and them needing people to pro create for the survival of their society.
      Straight biblical literalists have no reason to look into the context of what was happening surrounding that passage, and believe that fallable translation of the Bible over millennia is some how perfect because their lives aren't the ones that are affected by the passage.
      The church today does need to set moral boundaries but they also need to stop cherry picking the Bible and teach the word in context of when it was written instead of blindly reading every word without thought and spitting it out to the public..
