well, your video gave me an insight and can feel you as first timer in taiwan. soon it's gonna my turn to visit Taipei in Feb, so how appreciate I'm to see your video. stay lost Buddy..keep inspires others. play nicely.
I was just there with my daughter-in-law and grandchildren. It is all very familiar, very clean. We took the MRT everywhere. We stayed in an Airbnb down an alley and up three flights. Very authentic trip. Loved the dumplings. The zoo is very spacious, I think we only saw about 1/3 of it. Taipei 101 is beautiful. Do not miss out on eating at Din Tai Fung restaurant in the building.
Sounds like an amazing authentic Taipei experience with your family! I agree, the MRT is so convenient and super clean and staying in an Airbnb off the beaten path adds a unique touch. Glad you enjoyed the dumplings. Taipei 101 is indeed a must-see and it will be in my next video! Thanks for sharing your experience!
@@WandererBell I also think you were tired. Chinese characters are distraction. But under normal circumstance, you should be able to parse them out and use English signs to reach your destination.
It's a long walk so when I went there I used the moving ramp. Whenrver I go to a new country, it helps a lot to check airport website to see layout, airlines' teminal numbers, local transportation counters & how to go about transfers to ciity. Lessens concerns and tiredness for me. On exits at train stations, there are maps showing exits location nearest to hotel and mentioned by hotel what's the nearest Metro exit to it.
Absolutely! Planning ahead can make navigating a new city so much smoother. It's all about minimizing stress and fatigue while maximizing the exploration experience. Thanks for sharing your tips!
I have been to Taipei many times. Some of my family lives there. The card they gave you at the airport is just information on the items that are prohibited at customs/immigration.
Thanks for pointing that out! Indeed, the card was a helpful reminder of the prohibited items. They have a smooth arrival process for visitors. It is such a wonderful and super clean city. Very polite and helpful people too.
20:00 There is no such thing as "Taipei Airport Metro". The daily pass or three day pass are city-wide. There are two airports in northern Taiwan. You have landed in Taoyuan Airport which is located in Taoyuan. Another airport is inside Taipei but they only serving flights from Asia. Taipei and Tokyo are old cities. When they need modern airports, they no longer can find land to build airports upon. So they need to build new airports in neighboring cities. That is why you have difficulty to buy daily pass in cities outside Taipei. Specifically, there are six metropolitan cities in Taiwan. Taoyuan is one of them. Inside this airport, you can only buy the daily pass for Taoyuan Metro (as the video shown that you asked the attendant on the first desk and asked if you can buy daily pass for Taipei metro. He told you that he only sells Taoyuan Metro daily pass.) You need to go to Taipei to buy daily pass for Taipei which is about half hour away from this airport. By the way, from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei, people should always take airport MRT which is much cheaper than taxi. The difference is like US$40 vs a few bucks like US$3.
In Austria, the airport train is part of the Austrian transportation system and it is easier to buy a ticket from the airport all the way to the city center. In Taiwan, the airport metro is separate from the city metro and they are not integrated with each other.
I considered getting the EasyCard, but I heard there is a fee to obtain it, along with a required deposit and the need to return it upon leaving Taipei. It might be a more convenient option, but I didn't want to manage the hassle of dealing with any remaining balance on the card when departing Taipei
@WandererBell The easy card is similar to Japan's card system so you can just tap and go rather than buying each time. I keep it for next time I return.
You are correct. In Japan they use something called an IC card. I got Pasmo card at Tokyo Haneda Airport when I visited Japan. I filmed my airport experience there too: ua-cam.com/video/mC1CPoExZrE/v-deo.html
There are different types of passes, but from my understanding, there is only one pass that covers both Taipei Metro and the Airport Metro, and that pass is called the 'TAOYUAN AIRPORT MRT / TAIPEI METRO JOINT TICKET.
@@WandererBellThanks for that information. I checked that info and from what I found is for 48/72 hours the ticket with that airport transportation. Good to know!
Yeah, when you went down the stairs, it was confusing that the signs changed to MRT instead of Bannan Line. I guess this is what you are trying to say? User Experience is not really connect 😂
Ang linis ng Taipei nakakalungkot pag compare mo sa Pinas. Ang liit ng bansa pero mas malinis, mas may efficient na transportation system kesa sa Pilipinas

Easy card is the card everyone use to get around in taiwan, either bus or mrt, and non-reserved seat trains.
You are right.
Easy card is the essential everything card required to even survive in taiwan😂 it’s just too convenient
Yout don't have to buy real easy card now. Just download 'Easy Wallet' form App Store.

27:50 I see four signs. M7 exit (turn left). Elevator to MRT (turn left). Walk to MRT (turn left/escalator). M8 exit (turn left/escalator).
Thanks! I guess I was tired because of the long flight.

Respect, after these long flights I usually give up and just take a taxi/uber lol
I’ve started taking a taxi/uber/grab too unless the airport has a direct train to the area I am staying in.

Hope the information could help travelers visiting Taiwan. And you are doing good. I can see you are a seasoned traveler.
You deplaned at terminal 1 and went through the customs at terminal 2.
I think so.
Seems like airport train and metro system is like Vienna, Austria?

Do you know if the Pass of 24hs can i use it with the train to the airport (TPE)? or with that purple line i can`t. Thanks in advance

23:45 No offense, I have no idea about jet lag, but it's really funning hahaha~
I found a value
I always checked people's videos to learn how to take a train when I arrived.
I got nervous about the transportation🥲
Yeah, when you went down the stairs, it was confusing that the signs changed to MRT instead of Bannan Line.

Yes that's right. The signs don't say Bannon Line. New visitors might get confused unless they prepare well ahead.

That person with the adidas bag should be checked in . Too many carry on’s
Yeah definitely
Eva Air is usually very strict when it comes to carry-on luggage.
LOL... no way.. not from Vancouver ... too many people with big bags.. that's why there is a slower boarding and deplaning time @@WandererBell
I watched your video I like it . Do you have Facebook or instagram page I will follow you

The pacific is so big. I had a meeting in Beijing with some People. An american had flown 15 hours over the pacific
Traveling from the US to this region does involve a lengthy flight due to the vastness of the Pacific Ocean. It is indeed a long journey.
Dont worry Taiwanese are friendly😅😅😅
Did you just need your passport to transit through Taiwan
I think so!
