The Turbo AI sound (file 057) is pretty much the same sound file that the Mazda Miata uses in this game. Same sound also exists in Sega GT 2002 and Gran Turismo 3.

@@boomkittyFX I mean, they all sound close to a stock Miata, but they don't sound exactly like that. A stock Miata, heck even one modified sounds much nicer in real life. But yeah you're not wrong. There's another car in Sega GT 2002 that has Turbo AI sound (file 057) and it sounds exactly the same. I forgot the name of the car.
submaniac93 Thank you, actually I thought that it was unavailable in Japanese version (according to my OLD memory), but it was wrong. I learned it's available also in JP ver.
Always wondered why the AI Alfa 155 and Calibra Touring cars had unique sounds in GT2, must be because they reused the Beta1 sound. Always thought they were the only AI cars to have their actual sound haha
You're right. It was he player's car in GT Test Drive and it became the MX5's egine/intake sound until GT4 ^^ (as well as GT2's AI turbo sound of course)
C'est a peu pres la meme chose qu'entre GT3 et 4. 620 voitures, une bonne 20aine de circuits, des physiques retravaillées (beaucoup plus proche de GT3 que de GT1). Excellent jeu de course sur PS1 pour le genre.
1:40 How does one enable these sounds on your car? Does it work for every player-driven car? Does it behave if you use the 'AutoDrive' cheat? Is it possible to use an 'AutoDrive' cheat that will also go to the pits if the tires are worn?
I's direct memory editing to force the game to load whatever sound you wish for exhaust and for intake (2 different addresses in memory). It should work for any player car, as long as the process is done for both cars. Doesn't work on AIs though. The Auto-drive codes are independant, meaning you could have you car sound like anything and drive itself. A good code will pit, a bad one (there is one) will force the car to drive alright, but it will also override any instructions for it to pit.
Try the codes in the description of this video. ua-cam.com/video/mk4foGy6PkI/v-deo.html The code allows you to play with the AI sound but it makes impossible to finish races and also you cannot play replays. I find it pretty cool though
Wow this is interesting! And hey bro look for a new gt2 mod soon, Im making a PAL gt2 "eurobeat" music mod. Watching initial d again got me into some eurobeat songs..... so I hope youll enjoy when I finalize the mod. And would you like to be a beta tester for it?

Is the Analog-control available in PAL version?
Yup, you can use the analog in every version of GT wihout any problems!

They just rev to 14-15k rpm is all :p
3:50 sounds like an AI HKS 180sx drag in gt2
Yup. That's because the HKS 180SX revs to 8000rpm too before shifting :p
Yes, it sounds like Mazda Miata MX5 89s
However, the AI sound with turbo
That is for sure the sound!!

A quand une course complète avec ce son si doux ? :D

Nope, it's PAL, but it's got the same sounds
