I like how humble these guys are..recognizing the shoulders they stand on, while providing shoulders to bear weight for the next in line. And..suffering no fools and the same time..well done Andy, thanks.
“Escape into exercise,” with as much physical good comes from working out damn near everyday, I always tell people I do it for mental clarity. I’ve never really thought about it in terms of “escaping,” but that’s exactly what I do each day. Funny enough, my daily workout is CrossFit sprinkled with additional running, ha. I just discovered your podcasts relatively recently and although I have 0 military experience, I thoroughly enjoy your guests, topics, discussions, etc. Please keep up the great work; there’s so much to learn from your podcasts.
I remember waking up one night to a shithook flying over our b-hut in COP Kherwar in the middle of the night. This was probably around summer or fall of 2010. I remember we set up for a fire mission before we bedded down but no one would say exactly what time or why we might be shooting. I asked what was going on when the heli woke me up and they told me a seal team had captured someone locally. I find myself wondering if one of these seals I’ve listened to in podcasts were there. Knowing I might have shared a combat space with these guys is a cool thought. Kinda silly but I like to think it happened haha. Thanks for the podcast and keepem coming.
I agree. As long as your not putting out your podcast as the same day as rogan i think your gonna have increasing numbers and views. Because i think rogan has the same audience as you. I mean theres not many that are consistent like you. I can think of free range, drinking Bros Mike ritland are the same category as your content you guys reach the same viewers. Free range doesnt put out consistent. Drinking Bros podcast doesnt go smoothly like yours. There's to many people trying to talk over eachother so it's hard to watch. I would say mike ritland and you are the top of podcast right now thats an easy listen and new content every week atleast. I hate those podcast that could be good but the interviewer doesnt let the guest talk without getting interrupted. And having more than one interviewer who just talk over eachother. So keep it going andy!
I always feel like I'm in a super secret club listening to Andy's podcasts...this blokes podcast should be 5 times the size but I kinda wanna keep him all to myself
Entertaining, interesting and informative, as always ! As someone who now has 174 consecutive days of meditation, I really enjoyed the part about meditation and mindfulness
I enjoy these podcast's, for 1 it's history, and 2 us civilians need to hear and know what really goes on over there instead of listening to the news that's 90% bullshit most of the time, and 3 I bet it does those that serve some good talking about it. Thank you to all that have served.
I started doing yoga when I was about 8 years from retirement, it really helped with the back and neck problems I was having. The meditation really helped as well, so good on these guys for promoting the health and wellness angle on the podcast.
damn.....after years of being out and struggling, i finally hear it from someone else. Its so good to know im not the only one out who struggles with stuff like this. thank you for this video, i needed to hear this!
I know who they're talking about at the 43:50 mark, I worked with the Det 101 guys when I was at Camp Brown on an advisory aviation mission. Bob Baldwin was a great dude, the Army really needs more field-graders like him. No surprise that he was killed in a crash, though. A-stan was, hands down, probably the worst places I've ever flown, everything that could make rotary-wing ops dangerous (mountains, high altitude, heat, dust, low cultural illumination, etc...) was there.
Shit. fuck you for that ending Andy, im fucking fighting back tears sitting at the kitchen table while my daughter is doing homework at the other end. love you guys.
Pulled security for NMCB 17 while they built Camp Anah. 28 days of mre excepts for the few times your other convoy buddies bring you subway. The first week was 4 trucks no berm or hesco's just us pulling security where this Iraqi fob was to be placed.
Andy, your editing and interview skills have greatly improved over the past month. Well done. (There's the feather, not the hammer) I would like to recommend that you add a acronym explanation below the video. I understand Army SOF, not much Navy SOF. You're progressing very well in both the technical and interview skills. You stopped crossing your arms, now quit touching your face
And I just realised that there's 3 cameras now.... Is this new? Now I have to go back and look at the last few. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me because I woke up & it's the middle of the night so, obviously, I'm on UA-cam.
Hey nick, doubt you'll remember even if you were their , not even sure you read Andy's comments but do you remember 2012 an army combat engineer convoy took two of your guys along w a resupply convoy to nawbahar (however you spell it). We got beat up on our way their so we stayed their for about a week n some change to fix our trucks. Yall thanked us by letting us fire a lot of yalls weaponry and got to grow out our beards lol then one of our guys had to fly out to Germany per rabies SOP cause he woke up to a cat sleeping on him, he freaked out and got scratched, then yall took care of the cats in the area lol but I remember yall had a bad ass campfire area tall would hang out at sometimes at night.
Wondered the same I just read Honor Bound last year and yeah...WHAT A LEGEND not taking anything from Mike but Tom's rescue missions had my hands sweating. And yeah this kid definitely has some resemblance to Tom wouldn't be surprised if he was a nephew.
Questioning the affect of limiting drug traffickers thru Afghan... But for 50yrs the US can't or don't want to stop drug traffickers thru their southern border. Maybe they can practice there...
Zero to a hundred - yep. The Medical name for mine is Intermittent Explosive Disorder (:)Yep. IED God hates me. I carried a M60 tripod, aiming stakes and C1 sights. Handy to have. Didn’t use it fucking once lol
Since camo of your face or having dirt/soot/grease on any part of your skin is now considered "racist" what are the teams going to do about their cultural appropriation?
This mother fluffer is 18 years old! Don’t try to fool a fool Dandy! This dude just got his braces off! This guy just got permission to drive after 11! What kind of trt gama ray X-men shit is this guy taking to stay so young?!?!
Honestly the best part of this podcast as a whole is the little glint Andy gets in his eyes when he gets to talk about his True love, The Javelin.
Uncle Baneman I hope you looked up the video on UA-cam.
jda671 there’s footage!?
Riffed Wood oh yeah 😎. I could not find it on UA-cam again, but it is still on his Twitter. Link Above
jda671 I don’t see a link? Maybe because I don’t have Twitter
On Rogan talking about the above video ua-cam.com/video/GtD8oMMJK_k/v-deo.htmlh59m36s 2:54:00 is the javelin missile footage
I long for the day when a man will speak to me with with the loving adoration that Andy has when he is speaking about his javelin.
You will find that man, just be carefull if he is talking about his "javelin" in front of you 🤣
You should hear Andy talk about bayonets 😂
I like how humble these guys are..recognizing the shoulders they stand on, while providing shoulders to bear weight for the next in line. And..suffering no fools and the same time..well done Andy, thanks.
Dr. Stumpf is truly an amazing insight into both the military and your personal inner self

Agreed
I still can’t believe his last episode got almost 200,000 views in less than 2 days
Eric Phillips agreed
Best intro in the history of all podscasts. Maybe Rogans "all day" by Nick Diaz is close.

I appreciate you guys!
The flow was very good and no dead spots in the interview. Great work Andy.
The very end of this podcast is the most wholesome shit ever.
I started doing yoga when I was about 8 years from retirement, it really helped with the back and neck problems I was having. The meditation really helped as well, so good on these guys for promoting the health and wellness angle on the podcast.
This Nick guy wishes he had Bryan Callen’s biceps.

Great pod Andy
Wow how old is Nick? He must have passed BUD/S when he was 8 to fit in all those accomplishments. Seals getting it done.
Lol. Nick was practically training to become a SEAL since he was 8. Ask on the South Side of Chicago.
Awesome podcast you touch on all the things actually worth talking about keep it up!
Really enjoyed this conversation!

Naps in the Sun, by Andy Stumpf
Damn I thought I liked my place cold at 68 degrees
Bro I’m at 72. This dudes ice cold
Nice guy so unassuming, sad about his brother.
this dude was the honor man in BUDS? holy shit.
Psychos can be mentally tough too
For those who have a hard time sitting still, yoga and tai chi are forms of moving meditation.
I keep focusing on the Nest thermostat in the background. 60? Stay frosty...
60 is crazy right?
Just wondering, is Nick related to the legendary SEAL Tom Norris?
@@Zoopack I dunno, Nick has that baby-face, not sure if he can support the kind of beard that Chuck would pass on to his descendants :-)
Wondered the same I just read Honor Bound last year and yeah...WHAT A LEGEND not taking anything from Mike but Tom's rescue missions had my hands sweating. And yeah this kid definitely has some resemblance to Tom wouldn't be surprised if he was a nephew.
I think I can do an Andy Stumpf impression now….
Get Tim Kennedy or Donny Omalley!!! Get them on Andy!!
FUCKING AWESOME DUDE. BEST ONE IVE HEARD FR9M ANYONE
Can we discuss Andy keeping his house at 60
It is Montana though so maybe it's a little chilly where hes at and wants to save money on the heater?
Bro, I'm still here...still a shit show. Running a hotel in Kabul. It's Joyous! Been here since 2010.
You got to be empathic. Running cars off the road and into buildings is gonna piss off the locals.
When is part 2 coming out?
Same time next week
Do the people who set the rules of engagement have a clue?

Definition of winning: getting ski resorts in Afghanistan
You keep your thermostat set on 60???
They miss the cold water in Coronado
I think that’s heat for the cold nights... many people up there don’t even have AC
Questioning the affect of limiting drug traffickers thru Afghan... But for 50yrs the US can't or don't want to stop drug traffickers thru their southern border. Maybe they can practice there...
Who the hell keeps their thermostat set to 60?!
Wow I am 35 min in and so far this podcast is all over the place. Guys can you chill and talk about one thing at the time? LOL... :)
Nic3
Can’t watch. Too many ads
Shit yeah you're a lonewolf ranger. You're too badass!
There aren’t enough commercials. Maybe add one every 30 seconds? Or maybe I should get UA-cam premium. Other than that A+ podcast.
Zero to a hundred - yep. The Medical name for mine is Intermittent Explosive Disorder (:)Yep. IED God hates me.
I carried a M60 tripod, aiming stakes and C1 sights. Handy to have. Didn’t use it fucking once lol
imagine these guys during ww2.. no rules of engagement like these days...SAVAGE
WAR STORIES
