  • My wife's battery in her car died, at the worst possible time.... Watch me troubleshoot the problem (the first one) then get it all back together. Her Civic is a generation 9, or a 2012 to a 2015. This process should be the same for all within those years with the 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine. This is my first video on a series of me working on this car, so stay tuned for more content. As always, the parts & tools I used are listed below:

100,000 miles of wear made the one I was working on very brittle, and I broke it while taking the negative terminal off. So I bought an Amazon generic & the OEM from a Honda dealer. The generic didn't fully complete the safety circuit within the fuse box and the battery light went on & off on my test-drive. So I put the OEM on and it's been off ever since. I have the Honda part # in the description. This is why I always recommend OEM parts, they may be more expensive, but they are worth it in the long run. Otherwise, you will be doing the same job again in the future if you go with a generic. I talk about that at the end of the video.

@@SuperGuyKY I just ordered an OEM to see if that’s the issue with my charging system light because I’ve checked everything else
