    Bree and Gabrielle were always my favorite. Even at their worst.
    Also I hated Carlos, but once they got divorced and his whole character started to change, he really grew on me. And he became my favorite of the husbands.

      Carlos goes up and down for me. I did like him post divorce as well, but then in season 6 when he’s outright cruel to Lynette for lying about her pregnancy he lost some points with me again. He went way over the line because of something she’s not even legally obligated to tell him.

      OMG yes totally! Bree and Gabby were the best, they had the best storylines and some of the most iconic moments on the show. Carlos was also such a terrible person before they got divorced, but you are so right after he got with Eddie they really showed him in a very different light. They both had such cool development that even when they were bad people, they ended up being the best couple

    Are we going to continue this Desperate Housewives streak? A video about Mary Alice, Susan, Edie, and Lynette would be amazing!
    One of my favorite scenes between Gabby and Carlos is when Carlos tells her the moment he fell in love with her…she assumes it was when he saw her on the runway and he goes “no, that’s when I knew I wanted to sleep with you” and the moment he’s referring to is when they went out to a restaurant and she got BBQ sauce all over her top and she laughed about it. It is such a realistic married couple moment.

    Gabby's stepfather story line (though, because it's a later season, was covered in a more soap opera way than I would have preferred) was so moving and powerful.

    The five year jump really was the key to helping Gabby evolve. Season 7-8 really allowed us to deep dive more into her traumaitic past. I hope you do Lynette and Susan next!!

    Nah for me Gaby's development was great in season 5 and 7. But rest of the seasons she is the same selfish Gaby and almost pushing to suicide Bree with the rest of the friends. She was never a good friend. The only reason i love her is because of Eva Longoria who made her character hilarious.

    So I might get into a debate.. but about Gabi and that younger guy I would rather use the term Grooming than rape. It's still bad but he was consenting to having sex with her. Which is not really the same as her step father who actually raped her forcing himself onto her. Using the same term kinda feels wrong. There is a difference between assault and manipulation ( those two can go together sure but not in this specific situation as the 16y guy also wanted to have sex with her but she played with his emotions and treated him like a toy) it's not the same crime or not the same type of abuse is what I'm trying to say. Besides that I really like your video and i'm interested in seeing more ^^

      This is a double standard. What if it was Carlos Solis having an affair with Danielle Van De Kamp or Julie Myers. It’s creepy and gross. It’s 100% statutory rape and should be treated as such.

    • @Nalmy25
      @Nalmy25 15 годин тому

      @ianmcguire1273 it's not double standards I would have said the same. Is it creepy absolutely. But that's not rape. The word rape is really specific. For exemple you can be sexualy abused without being raped.
      But I'll admit I'm not a native English speaker so there's a chance that I'm wrong here. Do you all really use the word rape in a broader sense to talk about any kind of sexual abuse ? Because I feel like in front of the law it would be charged differently depending on what actually happened.
      (Also did that not happen to Julie Myers as well ? I feel like she dated an older guy that manipulated her ?? Or am I wrong ? My memory is failing me ^^')

    Ok, I have never watched this show, but I'm curious if this woman is the human equivalent of Bojack Horseman ?
    Because she definitely sounds somewhat similar to Bojack

    • @PosiTVty.
      @PosiTVty.  15 днів тому +3

      Not a *ton* of similarities (Gabby doesn’t have substance abuse issues), but you’re right that they do both have to learn similar lessons about narcissism and selfishness, and they both come from abusive backgrounds that contribute to these negative tendencies. Good catch!

    • @ghettogeek267

      Coming from a country where the age of consent is 14 it's much more nuanced than that. 14 is the age of consent if your partner is also 14/15. Being 16 and being sexually involved with someone in their late 20s can result in a nice trip to court; especially if your parents are against the relationship. On top of that is the nuance that she was his boss; a power imbalance which also plays a factor. It's not as simple as "age of consent" and there's a reason its literally called stationary rape - because a 16 year old can not fully consent because they probably do not understand the nuances of the whole situation, they can not make an informed decision because they are not an adult.
