it worked for me! The salt water got in my gopro hero10 on my recent trip. Then when at home I thoroughly rinsed my gopro with the sink sprayer inside and out, tapped and let drain out, then I dried it on warm for 1 hr using a blow dryer. I didn't have the silica but it works now. Thanks!

ah ganito din nangyare sa go pro 7 ko.. after ligo ng beach.. its dead hangang ngayon ayaw na mag turn on.. kahit ilang charge na.. hopeless na.. last year ko pa naligo sa beach
Hello! Before cleaning po ba ayaw mag turn on ang gopro nyo? Ayaw po kasi sakin after kami mag swimming dina nag on ginawa ko na lahat ng tips here sa youtube hahha
I was diving with my gopro in sea and then when i came out the water, i turned it on and a few seconds later it just turned off and i cant turn it on again. Will this work on my gopro?
Yes, very much sure!... it is shown in the last part of the video that my gopro works so well. Actually, my Gopro is still working and I amm still using it until now. You'll just have to make sure to follow all instructions in the video.
my gopro 7 black had only salt water inside for less then a minute,i noticed quickly there was something wrong, immidiatly rinsed the inside with fresh water and let it dry out with a dryer for 4 days, with a slow and steady airflow, result is i had to buy a new one a week ago, totally broken in my case
@@sosteve9113 it won't always work. But, keeping salt (an electrolyte) inside the case is much worse than fresh water (even though fresh water still contains dissolved minerals). It's best to flush the fresh water out with alcohol, before drying. But, there is a strong chance that the initial salt water contact already caused too much corrosion.

It works? @02ibyang
Does it work?
Hey mate thanks for the video but where can you get silica from or is there anything else you can use?
Silica gel I used was from a free silica pouch from a shoe box.
How about the battery and sd card should you also wash it ? Thanks
No need to wash
wipe them with a wet wipe or damp tissue but they should be fine.

Yes, it works in Gopro 9 and in all kinds of devices...
Sir how is your gopro doing? Is it alright until now? Badly needed your help. New subscriber here.
you don't need his help. just flush it with cold water. And then, flush it with 90% or greater alcohol.
@@CM-xr9oq thank you so much buddy. I brought it to a technician and it is working like a charm now

My gopro had be salt water leaked and it has been staying in my cupboard for few weeks now, will this method still work??? any suggestions??
Maybe yes or maybe not, just try it... i did this method a week after it was droped at the sea.
I was diving with my gopro in sea and then when i came out the water, i turned it on and a few seconds later it just turned off and i cant turn it on again. Will this work on my gopro?
That I don't know bro. Since any electronics should be turned off right after it got wet. And should only be turned on again when it's already dry.
will this work on a hero 5?
Yes, it will work. Actually, it works to any version of gopro or even in cellphones.
Sir ano fb name mo. Add po kita yung go pro salt water dn galing nag leak. Badly need your help

🤔 🤔 hmm i will CEA
Sir may corrosion ba sa loob?
of course. but, hopefully this limits the damage.
So far, wala naman akong nakitang corrosion... gumagana parin ang gopro ko hanggang ngayon.
Dont do this !!! This is a bullshit solusyon !! Your go pro will be permanent destroy !!! Tssssk
Gladly, mine is still working fine until now...😉
Any method using a hair dryer cannot be good. Trust me.
why not? it's a heat source.
Agreed
Which method works then? Enlighten us!
