I am sure I am not the only that thinks your songwriting is brilliant. There is something wonderful that happens when we just enjoy the process of making music without overthinking it. It comes out with a certain "purity" and authenticity that one can't help relate to it even if its lyrical topic has nothing to do with you. Keep doing these. I encourage you to even take it further (whatever that means for you), and keep being an inspiration to us synth nerds.
Very nice. You're getting better all the time. Congrats. Some nice bits in the song too. I also love the video with the cassette - I'll have to steal that idea though - tool cool.
Favourite channel on all of youtube. You've got such a great vibe in all your videos. All of them are so so helpful and instructive and absolutely bursting with musicality!
Everytime one of his videos get recommended to me it's always a two or three year old video. I can't even remember if I came back to this just because I felt like rewatching it or if it was recommended again haha
Are you using an outboard sound card or the inbuilt one in your Mac? I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 15” 16gb ram, i7 - I’m wondering if I need something external to avoid latency?
I love these! You’re style is so specific and enjoyable. The CMI is one of my favorite synths ever, so this one is a particular treat. Thanks for sharing! Keep ‘em coming! 💙👍
Hello, I was wondering if you can help me.. when I hold down Sararr. the loop seems to be very short and I get a constant clicking noise when it loops. I try going into sample and then evolution to extend the delay so that it does not make this annoying clicking sound. I am trying to replicate some of the early Tangerine dream stuff by holding a chord or note down for say 15 - 20 seconds without it having to make that annoying clicking noise... May I please ask if you can help me with this...
You don't like the Brutes? ...what is it about them? My first Analogue was the MicroBrute. I kinda had a love hate relationship with it for a time... feeling like it was hard to get away from that aggressive sound. We've resolved our differences :]
@@CaalamusTube I don't like the basic Osc's sound...keep in mind I'm french so I deeply wanted to love their product but so far no luck, we worked with the Minibrute for about a year before we sold it, the only thing i really liked about it was the noise generator ...that's not a good reason to keep it XD The microbrute is the exception, imho it's their best product ; as for the drumbrute, a friend has it and I don't like the hats, and the fact that you cannot tune the snare (I really like tunning drum instrument..here the body is always a A) and the tunning system of the toms as well, the low and high tom are always 1tone appart...but the clap, kick, cymbal, and shaker (love the shaker !) are fine :) Also for the beatstep, I don't like that they are USB powered at all...a product that is powered that way will not last forever ; So what do you do with your Microbrute ? I tink it's their best product for now ; sorry for the late reply ! Cheers :)
@@LouisSerieusement oh no stress on the reply time. I bet the Internet will be around longer than us :P Hmmm... I had two MicroBrutes & a Mini. I rigged them all up together for a little while. That was kinda interesting but it didn't really do the trick. So I sold my first Micro ( the original Black ) & kept the White Micro SE as well as the Red Mini SE. I chain them together sometimes. But mostly I use the Mini with it's Arpeggiator or I noodle on it through a Tape Delay. Same with the Micro, I use the Sequencer a fair amount of the time... or I Noodle on it. Mostly through the TC Electronic EchoBrain or the DOD Rubberneck. I sort of felt like the VCOs were limited to a very gritty, "new" kind of sound. But I've come to the conclusion that less is more & I've been able to get better mileage that way✓ I don't like the sound of the original DrumBrute either. It seems stuck on "house" to me. But I recently got the new DrumBrute I & that thing makes me smile. There are similar tuning limitations. But I also really enjoy the sounds as they are. So I guess it's o.k.. I'm not a big Tom guy. I'm all about Kick, Snare, Hat, Ride, Rim. The fact that I can program PolyRhythms on it & that the Sequencer is 64 Steps... that makes my day! :D I also enjoy that weird FM Voice. Good for small Hand Percussion. If you want to see... I have playlists on my Channel arranged by each piece of Equipment. ( MicroBrute, MiniBrute, FrankenBrute, DrumBrute I ) Do you upload?
loved the video as always. also, bro there is an interesting easter egg in the CMI plugin. in the vsti GUI keyboard click on the letters A R T U R I A one by one and see what happens ;)
Yeah I'm thinking that'd be cool. But I might start using multiple synths or drum samples otherwise it'll be a bit limited. So maybe I'll do a "use all of collection V" challenge (which won't be much of a challenge cause it's like every synth lol).
@@onceuponasynth I'll second that request as I've got version 6 plus the awesome Sparkle drum machine. When you have "that" much software at your disposal, it can be a little overwhelming as to what you begin with.
Really like your approach dude, I've found the CMIV to be one of the most disappointing Arturia synths.. Maybe I need to dig deeper with it but those farm animal patches... no-one wants animal samples arturia!!
That Arturia V synth collection looks good but unfortunately out of my budget range. On the upside, I did find loads of FREE vst and standalones on Reverb.com. Another gr8 track. ty

thanks man, means a lot
Dude, I am really enjoying the "One Synth Challenge" Series a lot. You've helped inspire me to be WAY more productive everyday. Aloha from Oahu!
Aloha! 🏝
Yeah man just keep coming with new ones it's fun...To be honest songs that comes out at end are always heat
Nice! Well demonstrates how easy it is to lay down tracks and compile to a finished song in a DAW. Catchy tune too!
It's easy if you know how to play and can hear what fits well together :P
yeah in terms of speed nothing beats a DAW + plugins. (IMO of course).
The CMI V is incredible, i use it on all my tracks
I really like your film photography
thx!
Great! CMI was the grandfather of samplers
Super!! I love this mood!
Excellent! Always loved the Fairlight.
Thanx a lot! Very, very helpful and inspiring.
You're really pumping these out, inspiring work man
more 80s. more new wave and synthpop. really enjoyed this one
One word only - wow
That serie of videos is so cool !!! One synth / one song , wonderfull idea

You are pumping out high-quality content like no tomorrow! Thanks for your great work :)
Love your setup and workflow. Really helped me a lot.
Nice! I'm so glad I just bought the V collection. I haven't even scratched the surface as far as listening to the sounds yet.
That was great! The one synth challenge is an awesome concept.it keeps you focused. new sub
i really like this series too, it shows you don't need tons of equipment to create something and have some fun too.
Nice work! Love the concept of "One Synth Challenge".
Dude you deserve more recognition!
The new order vibes!
love when the vocoder comes in
Ho yeah, this one is my favorit of all "One synth challenge", there is some 70's influences too, it's excellent !
Ofcourse there is, as it was designed in the 70's. And the 80's started around 1976 until 1985 When ESP took over and everything became shit.
Excellent ! Pure talent

Everyday there is a new video. And each time the subscriber count has gone up by 1k. Well deserved and well done.
Very John Foxx. Fantastic
Great work :). Thanks for sharing. Reminds me I should just do my spontaneous stuff too.
your videos inspire me a lot thank you sir 🙏

love your demonstration but the photography of your video is amazing, it's like a movie lol
Great idea to constrain yourself to only 1 synth - sounds great!
That pad is sick
fire!!! so good
you could literally make anything with the CMI , from the T2 soundtrack to art of noise
SUPER solid 80s wave track ! if i heard this on cassette itd be indistinguishable from real 80s (o:
Love it dude ❤❤❤
I knew I should have bought this software when it was on sale.sounds great
Looks like the sale is still on (ends today so hurry!)
So good!!!
1980-1983 vibes! Thanks
Great exercise! Amazing what one comes up when working within with strict parameters. Really inspirational actually. Subscribed.
thx!
Loving the song! Keep up the good work! :)
That's awesome, what software are you using to record, cheers
These keep getting more fun 👌
Amazing!!!
What computer laptop would you recommend these days for running DAW and VST's?
Killin it man
Wish I still had my IIx was owned by Kim Wilde. Awesome toy.
I like how productive you are! :) Great sounding plugin too.
heh thx
loving all your new videos!
Cool! awesome
I hate to be a nit-picker, but unless the CMI had a Vocoder then using a Vocoder from Ableton is akin to using a second synth...no?
Back to the 80s!!!
Such a great song, makes my hair stand on end 🙌🏻
Bro you’re talented
Liimitations rule. This is more characterful than a lot of over produced EDM pap that gets produced today.
Usually I don't like Arturia's product that much but I recognize their plug-in are good sounding ! This CMI track is really fun

Awesome......
Nice work. Perhaps the vocals could be revisited, though. Fantastic synth.
Outstanding.

i need t0 get me this i was a 80s teen this is sick
awesome!
Nice review! How do i upload this into fl studio?
Reminds me of a lonely robot 🤖 in 1981 👍🏼😎
loved the song
Sounds good!
thx!
Damn! That was good
Wow!
Do you have any formal training in music composition or music theory?
You r awesome sir. Subscribed.
What laptop stand are you using?
Nice vocoding
This makes me feel like a space man
all your songs get me hooked, did you do a microkorg vid?
Mate it sounds better than 99.9% of the shit that's out today. The other 0.9 is my stuff. LOL.
Would be coo if you could add your samples but through a low res bit filter
Really impressive bud!!
Love your channel

heh I'll have to try that out
once upon a synth yes! 😊
Are you doing this with the other Arturia collection instruments? That would be lovely. Awesome video and song.

@@leepshin +1 for the other V Collection Instruments! I would like the Buchla V!
Kinda reminds me of devo when it’s just the drum and bass
Okay...now do a track ONLY using the CMI V sequencer and playing overtop. ;)
Really like your approach dude, I've found the CMIV to be one of the most disappointing Arturia synths.. Maybe I need to dig deeper with it but those farm animal patches... no-one wants animal samples arturia!!
veeery nice!
the V suite is so good!
great vid
Nice!
COOL
It's like a Reggae track with 80s element.. not bad! I thought you'd make something more dynamic with a faster tempo and using 7th/9th chords.
Felix B A lot of 80s music had a reggae element. The influence of The Police on rock music of that era can’t be understated.
Very nice chanel good content!
This is dope! How long did it take?
thanks! Not sure, maybe about 2 hours to lay down the tracks, then a few more to edit and stuff. I took some breaks so I didn't quite time myself.
I love it ;)
When i read the title I though you will ONLY used the CMI V with it own sequencer. Not with the DAW.
Wow, i just think about cmi challenge
That Arturia V synth collection looks good but unfortunately out of my budget range. On the upside, I did find loads of FREE vst and standalones on Reverb.com. Another gr8 track. ty
Check out TAL! ( BassLine, U-No ect... )
Can you try to do it with a Korg volca keys?
