“The Greatest American Hero” believe it or not I’m walking on air...... Nice 80s memories. Great synth, I know what I’m doing today, binge watching and getting my Arturia collection 7 running.
I just bought an Arturia Keylab 88. I love it so much. It comes with 6000 presets giving you a taste of the V collection which is called Analog Lab 4. You’re an inspiration Doctor Mix. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
I have a Nektar Impact LX88+. Love it. I can't imagine not having 88 keys and especially if you play classical pieces as I do. Although, I would prefer to not have the pads. I don't use them and would prefer more knobs and sliders.
David Oscar Flores I’m embarrassed to say but I’m not trained in musical theory. But I love music with every beat of my heart and I have been pretending to play for more than 28 years since I was 15 years old. I’m 43 now. I probably should learn theory but life has me tied up. With a job, 2 kids and one on the way, I don’t have much time to start the training. Hopefully one day I’ll get there. For now I’ll enjoy making music with Arturias finest hardware and software.
@@JaredBathurst Some of the greatest artists don't know music theory. Some of the greatest painters quit art school. We're living is a great time where we can learn how to play any style of music with many tutorials here on UA-cam. And for free! I use a few tutorials because my skills in reading music have diminished since I stopped playing for 15 years! I totally got out of music to become a professional photographer. I couldn't juggle both art forms. Jared, the one thing I would recommend that you do is to discipline your time for 30 minutes and practice scales of various keys. Start with C major. You'd amazed what practice (repetition) can do and even with 30 minutes. And don't be embarrassed - We all do what we do when the time is right for each and every one of us. :) Also, it would be helpful for you to boost your confidence/self-esteem to learn some easy pieces or just some chord progression of songs that you love. You'd feel proud of yourself and that will shine around your children/family. :)
Ha! My first real synth was an SH101, then I got a CZ101. I sold both a few years ago (for a tidy profit) when emigrating. I got Roland's SH101 VST last year, and now I have my CZ back!
I've just bought the collection for the price of the mellotron which I wanted really badly. King Crimson, Moody Blues, Genesis. Many hours of pleasure to come.
So glad they added this. Not sure where my CZ-101 went, one of a couple of things that walked off over the years. The CZ "phase distortion" synthesis is definitely in the same ballpark as the DX fm. I lol'd at the Greatest American Hero theme... .

So many wonderful sounds, I got to the end of the video and wanted more! I think that I would have sat through two days of just listening to you go through everything! Loved it 💙👏
Well, at the end we can say that vst is a great invention. While there are immensely powerful vst synths like pigments, it's always a pleasure to discover the sounds that made the history and legends of music.
Around 4:30, that theme you were playing was from "The Greatest American Hero"! It was a TV show from the early 80s. I watched it when I was a kid... Good job!
To be honnest, there enough fuel of sound to get inspiration for an entire life, the synthi v and arp 2600 with buchla are very impressive as virtual synth they also made it polyphonic wich was impossible with the original, i was also a huge fan of the cs 80 and oberheim matrix 12 this collection is a beast from the best iconic synth !!!
"Greatest American Hero" by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter. I played it in a Post/Carpenter medley for a festival contest when I was 12 which included "Hill Street Blues Theme", "Greatest American Hero" and "Magnum PI"
"Strawberry Fields" is obvious, but I'm hearing stuff from "It's Only A Northern Song", and "It's All Too Much", also. "John, get Ringo, he's in the corner. Ooooh...look at him scoot. He's got a song he wants to sing us. Something about living in a yellow tambourine, or something." -Bill Hicks

I think it's "Vingy Fire" that's really close to the kind of brass sound found in Blade Runner. The other addition has to be the reverb (Vangelis used the Lexicon) and be attentive to EQ also.
Sounds a great set, Arturia certainly do a great job. How come when you say.... “I don’t know what I’m doing!” It sounds much better than when I say that to myself!! 😀 Great video as always thanks

Got the V7 and there are a lot of great stuff in there, especially the Synclavier and the Fairlight, but not every synth emulation is good and so I was dissapointed by the CS80, the Jupiter8 and especially the Stage 73 and Wurlitzer emulations `cause the sound is thin and tired somehow. I´m especially happy and in love with the "Solina"... that has absolutely nothing to do with the original but the modern pads sound so deep and endless wide...like into the next galaxy. It`s my fav synth for lush and dreamy pads right now. Also the Prophet (includes the 5 and the VS) and the Matrix is very well done. Figurehead to me is the well done Synclavier, the Fairlight and the very comprehensive Mellotron and for that 3 classics the price is completely ok and in V7 you also get with the DX7, CZ, B3, VOX etc. a lot on top of that.
