Wonder if he pins comments... :)
VM7 Well that answers the question
Only comments that don't deserve it!
@lonkchase I've given up on that shit
More than he blinks!
@@annother3350 agree, I was a dumb fucking kid when I wrote this
"I have no idea what I'm doing right now" -anyone working with an EMS synth, ever.
Spat my coffee out
Really? I find them somewhat intuitive.
Yes, indeed!
I'm in love with the Arturia collection!
Analog sounds for days!
Oui c'est une très très bonne affaire ! Yeah, it's amazing value for the money !
“The Greatest American Hero” believe it or not I’m walking on air...... Nice 80s memories. Great synth, I know what I’m doing today, binge watching and getting my Arturia collection 7 running.
Thank you!!
At first I was thinkin St. Elsewhere, but no. Still a damn fine synth bit in that one too tho.
Those Mellotron Strings were used by OMD for the main theme of "Maid of Orleans". Andy McCluskey said it in an interview.
That look on your face at 7:37 when On The Run started playing was priceless!
😅🤯
I own V Collection 5 and skipped over 6, but Dr Mix has absolutely sold me on 7. I hope Arturia has you on their payroll!! Great vid as always!
Doctor Mix is the child in all of us, if that child was obsessed with electronic music.
And bio digital Jazz
Loved hearing you pronounce “Arturria”
Hahaha!!! Sometimes you gotta do that!
my first real synth play with was a CZ. Then my friend bought a SH101 and good times were in the making.
Ha! My first real synth was an SH101, then I got a CZ101. I sold both a few years ago (for a tidy profit) when emigrating. I got Roland's SH101 VST last year, and now I have my CZ back!
I got a 2nd hand cz-5000 where this band had painted it all over and put a really shitty clown image in the top right. It's still in the family now
@@nobrains6107 nice move, that's how it's done. 👍🏼
I just bought an Arturia Keylab 88. I love it so much. It comes with 6000 presets giving you a taste of the V collection which is called Analog Lab 4. You’re an inspiration Doctor Mix. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
I have a Nektar Impact LX88+. Love it. I can't imagine not having 88 keys and especially if you play classical pieces as I do. Although, I would prefer to not have the pads. I don't use them and would prefer more knobs and sliders.
David Oscar Flores I’m embarrassed to say but I’m not trained in musical theory. But I love music with every beat of my heart and I have been pretending to play for more than 28 years since I was 15 years old. I’m 43 now. I probably should learn theory but life has me tied up. With a job, 2 kids and one on the way, I don’t have much time to start the training. Hopefully one day I’ll get there. For now I’ll enjoy making music with Arturias finest hardware and software.
@@JaredBathurst Some of the greatest artists don't know music theory. Some of the greatest painters quit art school. We're living is a great time where we can learn how to play any style of music with many tutorials here on UA-cam. And for free! I use a few tutorials because my skills in reading music have diminished since I stopped playing for 15 years! I totally got out of music to become a professional photographer. I couldn't juggle both art forms. Jared, the one thing I would recommend that you do is to discipline your time for 30 minutes and practice scales of various keys. Start with C major. You'd amazed what practice (repetition) can do and even with 30 minutes. And don't be embarrassed - We all do what we do when the time is right for each and every one of us. :) Also, it would be helpful for you to boost your confidence/self-esteem to learn some easy pieces or just some chord progression of songs that you love. You'd feel proud of yourself and that will shine around your children/family. :)
@@JaredBathurst I also play acoustic guitar, violin, cello, drums, and harmonica. Try juggling those! :)
David Oscar Flores I play guitar, bass and drums as well.
I've just bought the collection for the price of the mellotron which I wanted really badly. King Crimson, Moody Blues, Genesis. Many hours of pleasure to come.
I can watch Dr Mix jam all day...how does he remember all these tunes!
I think that's the coolest sounding synthesizer i have ever heard.Seriously....IT ROCKS.
As a proud owner of the collection I really enjoyed your presentation.
So glad they added this. Not sure where my CZ-101 went, one of a couple of things that walked off over the years. The CZ "phase distortion" synthesis is definitely in the same ballpark as the DX fm. I lol'd at the Greatest American Hero theme... .
The first theme you played was from The Greatest American Hero.
AKA (in Italy): Ralf Supermaxi Eroe.
@@carlodemichelis ma che nome orribile per una serie tv
@@progisloveprogislife4501 In italia c'è sempre stata una grande tradizione per dare nomi di merda a serie e film.
Yup... the first complex theme I played on my Yamaha..
George's phone message (Seinfeld)..."believe it or not, I'm not home ) ?
Wow, that EMS part just blew me away, you went far and beyond with that device! You rock Doctor Mix!
Another great Dr Mix demo! Definitely buying the Arturia V collection even though I already own it!!
Just a note, if you have any Arturia product (Minilab, Keystep, etc) there's a promo for $299.99 USD on this right now.
The companies need to make more synthesisers.. more synthesisers, MORE DOCTOR MIX!!
MORE DOCTOR MIX,
MORE HAPPINESS
Yey
That Mellotron piano sounds interresting, it’s like the 60’s version of the M1 piano😀.
"Greatest American Hero" by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter. I played it in a Post/Carpenter medley for a festival contest when I was 12 which included "Hill Street Blues Theme", "Greatest American Hero" and "Magnum PI"
Yep fairlight CMI, Jupiter 8, synclavier, prophet 5, it’s amazing I have it all I need is a midi keyboard
really such an incredible deal. all of the instruments in this collection are endlessly fun and sound amazing
Doctor mix is the funkiest UA-camr I've ever seen
8:01 mark Pink Floyd “On the Run” was used during the Chicago Bulls starting lineup for the road team on the PA system.
"I know you want me to play The Beatles". Busted!
"Strawberry Fields" is obvious, but I'm hearing stuff from "It's Only A Northern Song", and "It's All Too Much", also.
"John, get Ringo, he's in the corner. Ooooh...look at him scoot. He's got a song he wants to sing us. Something about living in a yellow tambourine, or something." -Bill Hicks
I love Claudio's expressions in this video
To be honnest, there enough fuel of sound to get inspiration for an entire life, the synthi v and arp 2600 with buchla are very impressive as virtual synth they also made it polyphonic wich was impossible with the original, i was also a huge fan of the cs 80 and oberheim matrix 12 this collection is a beast from the best iconic synth !!!
This is how product presentation should be. Thanks a lot . I must have it, soon. Best wishes.
Casio CZ 1000 was my 1st synth back in the 80s.. miss it. Just purchased the Arturia 49 controller today.
I think it's "Vingy Fire" that's really close to the kind of brass sound found in Blade Runner. The other addition has to be the reverb (Vangelis used the Lexicon) and be attentive to EQ also.
Very impressive - especially that Synthi
CZ emulation reminds me why I learned to program Phase Distortion. No attack at all on the basses.
That Mellotron is simply Amazing!
Could you also look at some Behringer synths, mainly the Deepmind 12 and Neutron
I keep coming back for your demos and they never disappoint. Keep it up big guy.
That song was from the show The Greatest American Hero "Believe it or not"
you should do Kraftwerk - Autobahn on this controller!
Got the V7 and there are a lot of great stuff in there, especially the Synclavier and the Fairlight, but not every synth emulation is good and so I was dissapointed by the CS80, the Jupiter8 and especially the Stage 73 and Wurlitzer emulations `cause the sound is thin and tired somehow.
I´m especially happy and in love with the "Solina"... that has absolutely nothing to do with the original but the modern pads sound so deep and endless wide...like into the next galaxy. It`s my fav synth for lush and dreamy pads right now.
Also the Prophet (includes the 5 and the VS) and the Matrix is very well done.
Figurehead to me is the well done Synclavier, the Fairlight and the very comprehensive Mellotron and for that 3 classics the price is completely ok and in V7 you also get with the DX7, CZ, B3, VOX etc. a lot on top of that.
But i could have done without some synths like Minimoog, Jup8 etc. (`cause there`s a lot of free and good stuff to it) and wanted something else for it... like a Emulator/Emax, PPG,D-50, Wavestation etc.
Got the V collection since V4 and Arturia never disappoint me ☺️ tbh the sound of mellotron is over the real one but what hell of a VST 🤤 thanks doctor for the review 😬
Well, at the end we can say that vst is a great invention. While there are immensely powerful vst synths like pigments, it's always a pleasure to discover the sounds that made the history and legends of music.
Yeah, at the beginning of this year I got a special offer to buy the V Collection 6 for €99. Sounded good, so I went for it. And just a few weeks later, I got the special offer to buy the V Collection 7 for €99. Can't say that I was particularly pleased with that.
Greetings from Brazil! Great channel! Melotron remembers me and my father listening, King crimson and Emerson lake and Palmer. Arturia is fantastic!
The melotron voice remembers the Athom heart mother album from pink Floyd.
ELP....From the beginning and Lucky man.
Ah the CZ "Phase Distortion" synthesis. That thing could get NASTY. I had a CZ-101 and, I believe it was, a CZ-1000 (the bigger keyboard one)...just went out an upgraded my V.6 Collection based on YOUR video, so thank you!
It was a great synth with zero modulation
Greatest American hero- believe it or not I’m walking on air.
Ok, this is close to my toolage in 2023! AL V, Collecdtion 9 and an MK11 61. Ciao Bello!
Greetings from Sri-Lanka. I’m a proud owner of Arturia Keylab 61 MkII. Thank you for the wonderful video.
Just bought Modular V3 because it was on sale. It's amazing!
Paul Mazzolini inside but i let you guess where it is in this video...excellent as usual
He was in my studio last week!!!
I follow, him since 1982, nobody knows him out of Italy at this time but "masterpiece" arrived....
Play Twin Peaks themes please I've never fallen in love w a piece of music like that before 😊
Reverb.com does an amazing pair of videos on the synths of Twin Peaks. Highly recommended. ua-cam.com/video/m3iyo_xiq0g/v-deo.html
The show was The Greatest American Hero!!!!
4:30 Believe me or not: The tune you played is "Believe it or not"
Well Played !
Sounds a great set, Arturia certainly do a great job. How come when you say.... “I don’t know what I’m doing!” It sounds much better than when I say that to myself!! 😀 Great video as always thanks
Yes! A video of TV Series theme songs from the 70's and 80's would be so awesome!

Alright!
The instrument is great but it’s you that is remarkable!
Awesome . I use the Minilab mk2, and Arturia Analogue Lab 4, 6,500 sounds to choose from. Incredible sounds available. Think i'll get a keylab! 👍🏼
On the Run was awesome!!
Greatest American Hero! Loved that show when I was 5-6
14:00 Gazebo masterpiece wonderful track
Thanks for this excellent demo ..... CS 80 sounds so good !!!!
I was surprised at the usability of the Mellotron piano. I read somewhere that Mike Pinder wasn't above using it during Moody Blues concerts.
Synthi V sounds amazing!!!! Definitely, seem great for blade runner style of sound design.
the greatest american hero (believe it or not im walking on air) was in the 80s bud :) great video as per :) and as an artutia fanboy i am always impressed more and more with every new edition, they can do no wrong in my eyes :)
Around 4:30, that theme you were playing was from "The Greatest American Hero"! It was a TV show from the early 80s. I watched it when I was a kid... Good job!
Good products. Notice :that Arturia controller is one of the most brilliant existing actually. Many functions are not common to others controllers... and more: metal case... so it starts to be interesting to use out of the standard studio...
When you said you found the "Kraftwerk" sound (19:56), I think it's more of that David Bowie "Sense of Doubt" buzzing sound just in the middle of the song. I'm getting goosebumps now listening to that 😄
Check it out here, at 1:43
ua-cam.com/video/TjXLKE3_l5g/v-deo.html
The greatest american hero, or for italians, "Ralph supermaxieroe" :D then instant pink floyd here :D
I used to own a CZ-1. It sounded that good.
Holy Toe-Claudio, I had never taken the Synthi V out for a spin, it sitting there with 30 other synths, lol, until seeing you to the same. I'm sticking on this bad boy for a while, lol. Ciao Bello!
the channel is great, a big hug Claudio¡¡¡¡
and a kiss! :)
Wow "The Greatest American Hero" I played it in marching band in 1980 for the pompom girls to dance to. :)
I love all videos of this channel!!!!!
Like I love the music
Greatest American Hero, which was from the early 1980s. Other great theme songs from that era: Airwolf, Head of the Class, Fame, Wiz Kids...
Wavy, groovy and so much fun! Hours and hours of fun with Arturia... The Mellotron sounds like the real one... WoOhhw!!! Thanks Doc! :)=
Can’t quite justify the V Collection yet, for me costwise yet, even though it sounds well worth it! At least I can play with it’s little cousin AnalogLab4👍🏽
14:08" you killed it🔥
Looking forward to the reconstruction of Josh Wink's Higher State of Consciousness ;-) Go Go DM!
Ya see, this is why hardware is better. If I could seriously get all these synths instantly with a totally painless $300, then I don't think I could produce! So many options, so many ideas, so much AAAAAHHHH!!! I'd never be able to pick a single sound ever again
i have many hardware synths but only three vst synths...dexed, pigments and diva. the hardware synths i use the most are motif xf, jupiter 80 , king korg and korg m3 , although i like the moogs i own and ms 20. the hardware synths allow me to make music...with vst synths i find myself creating sounds more.
One reason I prefer Omnisphere over Arturia is that with Omnisphere you only have to learn 1 UI. I also feel like the presets on Arturia have too many effects enabled, and going in to disable them is annoying.
I just love this video, so much positive vibes! I just bought the Arturia on black Friday sales after I've saw the video. Like you say just wow! Keep it up dude!
It's make a men feel like a kid with toys from Santa. I want it. 😊
@4.00 there is a movie score for a teen movie when the hero is achieving something !!!
In the 80s
Please recreate Insomnia by Faithless. That hook is so good!
Just cross graded from CMV today.. Lots of useful old sounds that I used to have, worth the upgrade price of 199 euros.
The sky's the limit... :-) I have Analog Lab 4 and really love it.
What is the difference between Analog Lab and V Collection?
@@Drums1696 V Collection - all Arturia synths with an access to all knobs/settings, GUI like the original synths but Analog Lab has only " the best of" presets with only few knobs to change the sound if you want. For me that's enough. :-)
@@jacek.strzelczyk Thanks mate!! Very helpful!
Viva Vintage But I warn you, if you'll like Analog Lab 4, it's possible to addict and want to upgrade to V Collection. I have the problem with that hehe ;)
@@jacek.strzelczyk There is promo in splice, for the V collection, paying $25 a month for 20 months!
Dude, you're such a talented musician --- your videos are such a treat. Thanks for the great content! =]
Arturia é fenomenal!
You should play around with an ARP, if you like Pink Floyd you have there the Solina Strings from Shine On You Crazy Diamond, if I'm not mistaken. Love your videos! I can't wait for the next one!
Man that sound (Synth v- Feedback Caverns) is so nice.
14:54 OMG!!! That Mellotron kicks ass for that SPOOKY sound ;)
Ooh those mellotron pianos are sick
Been waiting for this
THE CZ ROCKS!!!
It was The Greatest American Hero with William Katt......”Believe it or not!” 😂
Everytime I hear this guy play, all I think is video game music like legend of dragoon or some sort of final fantasy dungeons
I just installed it yesterday!!! LOL
Best synth channel
