Netflix came out in the 1990s and fun fact, Netflix made an offer to BlockBuster in the early 2000s for them to buy Netflix because they didn't think they could compete with BlockBuster in the long run.
People make fun of Blockbuster for that, but it really didn't look like a good investment for them at the time. They had the option to buy a struggling company that was eating into a small part of their market share and invest a bunch more money turning it into a functioning arm of their company, or they could just let it die on its own and get their customers back that way, from the way things looked at the time.

If I remember Blockbuster even tried to do a streaming service towards the end of it's lifespan.

He described it as cold and distant and that it portrayed Jack as the evil supernatural force rather than a man afflicted by the supernatural who was also overcome by alcoholism and emotional turmoil.
I am one of Those people who still buys DVDs and vhs. 😂 I stand firm on it. Although I stream, I’m Not blind to the fact that it has taken away a lot. What brought us together on Friday nights as a family. Also, streaming costs money. And they raise the prices each year little by little. Soon, streaming will cost just as much as if you had cable tv. Also with streaming, the things you do want to watch are held hostage by other streaming apps that you don’t have, but they want you to sign up for them. Even for their free trials. I’m over it. 😅

The book of The Shining is apparently supposed to be better, and that movie is what made Steven King not let anyone make another movie off of his books until the IT revival (I don't say remake because they weren't fixing what the original did poorly, they were clearly a new interpretation)

I too, wasnt very impressed with the shining, movie version.
For me, i guess it was that Jack kinda came off as insane from the beginning, so it wasnt much of a change in his character.

Redbox is now officially bankrupt as a week or two haha. They basically couldnt afford the rights to new movies so now, thousands of these machine lay in store with no one coming in to take them away now 😂 from what i heard these machines are like bolted into the ground and some even hardwired into the store electric grids, what a mess lol i guess cleaning up a blockbuster was easier when they closed. Oh and yes id love seeing you watch some old movies, plus the Ted show wich is like from a year ago is infinitely better than the movies, id say i loved them but nothing special, this show was a treat tough lol
