This is really enlightening. Mental fog, exhaustion, poor spatial awareness, and depersonalization (ie feeling incredibly spacey, surreal) are terrible for me during the first 3 days of my period, slightly improving on the last 2 days. The hacking discussed seems to looks at ways to work with the energy of your period, but any way to fight and alleviate symptoms when they are just too much? I already exercise (but am much more injury-prone due to the aforementioned symptoms, so it's not even that safe). I just want more than anything to lay in bed all day but it's not an option to call out sick from work for 4 days every month.

Have you studied menopause? That’s when my ADHD really kicked in making life so difficult. Now a few years later and post-menopause I am still struggling.
Since hormones and ADHD isn’t studied much I even have a hard time with doctors not knowing anything about this. I’ve also noticed that the information I get online even from the top male professionals say this is not true while female experts say it is. Can someone knock those men in the noggin so we can finally have studies and solutions.

We did talk a bit about menopause (it may have gotten edited out as we didn't cover it much) but yes as you age it changes throughout time. I agree there needs to be more studies on this in general

Hey, thank you so much for this. I only very recently discovered there’s a link and it makes so much sense. I would love to see a video on how different types of contraception effect these symptoms and which are best or worst for menstruating people with ADHD. (Me for example I used to take the pill and I was fine, switched to the coil and started getting really strong cramps and thought there was something wrong with my coil and currently researching which one I want to go with next - which is when I started finding out about PMDD and the link to ADHD - so far it sounds like the pill could be the best option but then again that’s difficult for people with cardiovascular irregularities which is a common side effect of ADHD medication so I don’t know what to do)

You said PMDD and a light bulb went off in my head with all of this. Like. Pmdd has been aweful.
I got diagnosed with PMDD in 2015, Just got diagnosed last month with ADHD.
My PMDD didnt start making its debut until half way into my abusive relationship. Which learning now, long stress periods can cause the pituitary gland (which controlls some hormones) to not do its job correctly from (trauma)
