This comment is underrated. It is a common misconception to use WD-40 as a lubricant. WD-40 is a SOLVENT. It is designed to remove dirt/grime, etc. WD-40 is not a LUBRICANT. Grease is a lubricant.

If you don't have grease to hand Don't use WD40 use something like a wet chain lube if you have to. It'll protect the moving parts far better than a thin, solvent based oil which will dry out quickly and leave everything unprotected. Better still, wait until you have a dedicated suspension grease!

Great vid, only change is the WD-40 for final lube. It is mostly kerosene not a lubricant and evaporates. Need to add a lite lube at the assembly. Great work.
nice work m8. A piece of practical advice. When you spray WD40 on an item and then plan to clean it with a rug, better to hold the rug behind it durig spray, in order to avoid making a mess around and not waste lubricant material
I have a specialized mycha 26. It Has the original forks on it (XCT-V3) .. they are basically the same as these. Am I able to stiffen them up? It's made for someone the weighs much less than me..
you should use some sort of silicone based grease to lube the fork lowers , and sometimes the seals need to be replaced to stop water from getting in the fork and cause rust

I purchased a new Aventon Level E Bike in Mar 2022, it has the cheap zoom fork, after about 2 weeks the front fork makes a clunk sound when going over some bumps and it's pissing me off, it does not do this when it's locked out though, does anyone know what the issue is? Or even an upgrade fork the would fit this bike? Thanks John
i would suggest getting a new valve adjuster or check for any corrosion or breaks inside the mechanism less about the fork and more about the hardware inside

I have a question that i would really want answered. My bike's front oil suspension was recently changed and one day while i was doing wheelies my bike's suspension maxed and from then when i try to do a manual or a bunny hop or whenever i try to lift my front wheel it makes a loud noise. I have a GT Avalanche Comp 29 from 2018. It has a tapered frame. I would like to upgrade the Suntour forks to RockShox. My current Suntour forks are straight. My question is can I replace my straight Suntour forks with Tapered RockShox forks on my bike that has a tapered frame and if so what do I require to do this?
Is it possible to remove shockers on my bike, and if so, will it break my bike if i remove the shockers? And if it doesn't break the bike, how can i exactly remove the shockers?
Just buying a bike . A very good specialised but the forks only have 10 mm travel so maybe this will help . There was very very little rust forming not alot but a bit near the seales.
At this point I would replace the fork 😂. So much trouble for a fork that will at some point need replacing. But besides that it's a great video. Keep up the good work
Riders PT just did this on my sons Suntour XcR, worked great, i mean they are pretty shit forks that have loads of play in the bushings, but at least he can ride now while we save for new forks, thanks again.
HE SAID HE ONLY HAD THAT WD40 STOP THE HATE. Use WD40 to degrease and then use a grease solvent, i recommend you to use BikeWorkx grease lube, Zefal Dry lube or anythink else you like to.
I have a Walmart bike and it Front suspension don't even move like I jumped off a big hill with it and I fell off my bike because it didn't even balance I watch this video and I can't take my whole bike apart just to fix that is there any other way and I only have my bike from like a month and I didn't ride in the mud
MARZOCCHI 55 RS owners this is pretty much your service manual and as an owner i have a few tips that can be added here as well, use fine grease if you don't have any then mix any grease with some oil until you get it in finer consistency then grease the s@?! out of it, make a sponge ring that fits under dust rubber seal and drench it in oil and the fork will actually be useful
Bokodi Máté unscrew the bolts on the bottom but not fully...leave them in the threads and give them a tap with a rubber hammer mallet...they should come loose
With my father's help and a lot of hammering we managed to get it off. It was really rusted but we cleaned it. For some reason, it is really hard. The whole bike is shaking on hard terrain. The fork barelly moves. Tried to ease it but it doesn't seem to work.

All fork instructions say Don't ever use WD40 on them. It swells seals and causes damage. Only use Correct grease

at 3:10 mine was very tide its not coming and i unfortunately breaks it and some parts got inside the suspension what should i do

Jesus no it would destroy the lowers as they are made out of magnesium, Always use suspension grease

Please use proper grease for internals and also remove the seals and clean. Use 80w90 gear oil to lube seals and stansions too.

Wd40 is a Greace remover/cleaner and lubricant, so I think it's only good for cleaning or quick fix personally

WD40 is a water repellent so it helps prevent rust but a good lube is a must :)

WD40 removes greese and that's good and I'm sure they work better now but they will wear out quite fast BC you need to have greese in there ! Ahaha

bunker miller when I started Riding I had a bike that had a suspension that doesnt sucks! The Only solution as to buy a new one!
