🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

I must say that I want to kick myself for not traveling enough up north after the African cuisine! What a lovely couple - so welcoming and with such an obviously peaceful spirit. Great and educational video, yet again!
Lekker lekker soos n kraker, that's one thing I must say about home, living in Germany now, taking my wife back home to meet the folks, she said she felt immediately welcome, and how strangers in shops randomly have a conversation and are kind. Don't get that here in Germany, if you speak to someone here in a shop or anything they look at you as if you're a skebenga.
Lived in Germany for 15 years, and I must agree they can be very standoffish to strangers. Most Europeans tend to think Americans are friendly to a creepy degree, and after living there, I can understand why.
Please don’t come back. Stay in Europe 😅

I have eaten proper Afrikaner food as I lived in Pretoria for 2 years. I’m surprised because these guys used a lot of seasoning. The food I’ve tasted was, from old tannies admittedly, but very simple seasoning, like salt and pepper, with the focus on the ingredient itself, but surprisingly very tasty like it come straight from the garden. My fav is home-made condensed milk rusks and those pumpkin fritters made with cinnamon and brown sugar !

This is great! As a South African, I can say Herman did the Braai justice! Thanks for visiting Sonny!
You can find plenty of Merino sheep in Transylvania. Cooking recipes are obviously different, but not as much as you'd think, I was actually surprised by the similarities in this video. The Romanian equivalent of a Dutch oven is called "ceaun", a bit differently shaped but still just a large cast iron pot used for slowly cooking juicy meat stews. We also have many unique sausages and dry aged products made of every kind of meat from pork to venison and a wide range of aged/cured types of cheese to try alongside, so if you ever decide to make a European tour in the future there are plenty of interesting things to try around here as well.

In reference to some fictitious troll commentary here, San is an ancient way-of-life reference. I.e. hunter gathering.
Today's people (excepting recent post-Apartheid immigrants) are the descendants of those hunter-gatherers by the tens of millions.
Natives are under no obligation to live as hunter gatherers or to speak a moribund ancient LATIN.
Culture isn't static. Only a few thousand people still live that way.
During the colonial era, most natives banded together in resistance & were displaced onto the native reserves (rebranded in the 20th century as "homelands") to form relatively modern cultures e.g Xhosa precisely because the Dutch were engaging in genocide against those living the hunter-gatherer way of life in the Cape & elsewhere.
Pretoria was issuing permits to hunt bushmen until 1936.
Pretending that some historical proto-group millennia ago is responsible for that very genocide committed by Europeans, though popular to do online, is hilarious ahistorical propaganda.
And NO the land was not empty when Europeans came.
All the languages enshrined into the 1996 constitution were of people who the European found here.
Wow the camera work and editing are absolutely incredible!
