Thanks Keith, it was pre-painted except for the hard plastics parts, the decals took ages to apply, lots of joins with the blue stripes. My first 2 real cars were these, I love them!
Got mine finished last week and honest i´m not satisfied how it runs. The oildampers are a must to give it better handling. The speed with torque tuned motor on 2 S is otherwise impressing. Maybe i get me the new XM rally chassis, guess that´s cheaper as upgrading the MF 01 chassis with alu parts .
The XM looks an impressive upgrade, with the alloy dampers & more tuning & upgrade options. The friction shocks are only fit for the bin! The alloy dampers are lovely, I just wanted the cheapest upgrade possible for this basic chassis. They make a big difference without breaking the bank. Thanks for watching! Let me know what you do…
@@jason.bochniak My first thoughts were going to buy a MF 08 chassis. Yes it is rear wheel driven like the real one. But sadly it is not really a rally chassis. Of course Yeah Racing makes an alu upgrade kit for the MF 01 X, but with a price tag of 170 €, not cheap. On the other hand the XM will enlighten your purse at 230 €. The benefit of the XM are the endless set up options. Under and over drive of the front and rear axles. I know these option from my crawlers, and is a real improvement. The XM chassis layout is lightyears ahead with the center spur gear.
@1500chessie I bought the kit purely for nostalgia, my first two real cars were MK2s. RWD would be perfect for realism. A cheap set of oil dampers would make chassis a lot better and the XM would give you another chassis to get carried away with and something to compare etc?
@@jason.bochniak nice to hear, drove from the late 80's till mid 90's Mk 2's. 2 RS 2000 and one 1.8 Bda with Weber carbs. Never should sell them anyway.
@@1500chessie Awesome! Now you’re talking! I always wanted an RS2000. Sooo cool. Been looking here in Australia, 50K for a nice one. I’ll keep dreaming. I had a 1.1 popular plus 2 door in Sahara beige which was my grandads car. He promised it to me if I passed my test. Had 6 lessons and passed first time. Loved that car being my first. Then got a 1300 sport in Venetian Red. Sold it in 1991 for £450 😩
Awesome video, the shocks are definitely a very much needed upgrade! The lights looked great too!👍👍
Thank you. They made a massive difference. I bet the alloy parts are next level!
Great video. The RC looks great.
Thanks Trey.
Looks great Jason. I love that body!
