I got AL because I started WoWs in 2015, whilst living in AL. So, despite being British and being back in the UK since 2016, my only account is on the NA server. Plus I've visited the real ship, in an epic road-adventure, and it holds fond memories. Even if I did get sunburnt.
PQ, when you make a hard turn out with your ship it actually tilts the ship slightly, raising the citadel higher than normal. This can make it possible to citadel waterline or even below water citadels. This is probably why Mass was able to double cit you in that clip. I once triple cit a st vincet with a iowa at 12 km, thanks to this mechanic.
Back when Alabama first came into the game (ages ago, I think 2018 maybe), it was known as the North Carolina with better torpedo protection and handling at the cost of gun performance
Alabama is my most played ship. I really enjoy it, I've maximised it's handling and AA. It can be blant at times, but it can also be very satisfying actually properly holding off a CV by both it's AA and manouvrability or using it's manouvrability around Islands or to dodge torps or dodge longe range shots at you. No one ever sees me coming turning on a dime in my Alabama.
I have been checking, and it seems to me that Alaska B has a tiny bit higher and larger citadel compared to Alaska. It's not noticable if you are not looking for it, but as far as I see, it's there. I hope the people who do this more professionally and find all kinds of hidden armor plates, will be able to confirm too... I could be wrong(can't quite fix the viewpoint/zoom in port when changing ships), and the difference is tiny.
I love this game but I really struggle on builds, I don’t know what to do for each ship and commanders builds, do I use the signals flags on high tiers only? I seemed to be on teams that get wrecked all the time and I get wrecked. Winder when you do ship reviews if you could go over the builds as well. Thanks for all the work you put into the videos for us.
I bought Alabama some years ago. Didnt know the differnce between the two shout Dakotas. Bought it bc of the torp protection and aa Buff. But tbh i dont really regnet it. I generelly just carry with this ship. With the 24km range and american bb health restore she is quite versatile. If not really to get the most out of her. Stil i like her and i will visit her.
Got my Tennessee this morning. Gonna see how she does, then look at Black Friday ships. Not sure, I like the potential of Alabama, and the Massachusetts. I have the coal for a tierX destroyer, thanks to the clan. Hard to convince myself to spend real money on pixel ships.
I've been wanting to buy it because I've visited the real ship several times. I guess i should just buy the black edition as its 5% cheaper than the armory version with coupon.
It's more than frustrating to see similar main gun performance as a secondary spec'd Massachusetts. Sure there's RNG, but with a long reload and aiming bugs it's a bigger deal than the more consistent AI secondary damage. I think it feels bad having RNG dictate a main gun focused BB's gaming experience because you can roll bad RNG on a broadside target that's hard to mess up as a player and get nothing and mess up a good RNG shot because players can't perfectly predict every opportunity. Between the aiming bugs (island shots fall short, beaching issue like mentioned, lock-on issues, auto aim, etc) and RNG on top of ship's normal dispersion and sigma values, it almost trains players to aim poorly to over compensate because RNG or overmatch will make a bigger difference than skill.
In my experience, RNG is RNG so no matter what bb you are in, Alabama NC or Mass, the life of a bb player is as Jingles would put it, "throw enough shit at the wall, and hope that some of it will stick".
Practically it's just a less accurate, tankier North Carolina. Plus prior to NC CLR coming out, this had the premium economy on its side. Nowadays NC CLR is just better when playing longer ranges, and Massa is better in short ranges.
You know I keep hearing about the secondaries of Massachusetts and how good they are...I have a Massachusetts and they are pretty shit these days. They don't fire particularly fast, there's only 10 turrets total for a grand total of 5 twin turrets per side...wow. The range isn't bad but it isn't the best and they get lousy penetration even with IFHE. With all the superior secondary ships out there now really what is the point of Massachusetts today? I remember when it used to be better, but now I definitely prefer the Alabama. The Alabama gets better main battery performance, range, and better maneuverability and better torpedo protection. I'm not saying the Mass is a bad ship, just nothing special in today's WoW's.
I love the South Dakota class battleships but Alabama just sucks compared to the Massachusetts or the N. Carolina. NC just feels so much more consistent with her Guns and Massa has the amazing Secondarys and high survivability thanks to the Hull and the heal. The Alabama just doesn't have a purpose between these two USN BBs.
Big diff between Randoms and any kind of comp. In Randoms, I just find the guns of the NC to be better that the Mass and Bama, making a huge difference. I almost always do better with good guns on a bad ship, then bad guns on a good ship. But in Ranked or CB, Mass all the way.
I got this in a black Friday container. And while good, the guns are way too inconsistent. So why would I play this when I can play my beloved massy with manual secondaries and have consistent fun

I think the issue is this is a normal bb and it’s just not insane like all the new ships getting added
well it's a pretty old ship so i guess that makes sense
I left a alabama request in the last ship request. I was a bit surprised but looks like a coincidence
I got this is a random container
Its bad
@@FrostBeam009 still pretty fun tho
Dunkerque please!!! It's in the event pass and it's practically discounted.

They're identical, gamemodels3d shows the models are the same

I'd like to see Asashio next!
I wish WG would give us the ability to fire the flack manually if we took an AA skill on the captain.
I would like to see what you can do with ANHALT
Alabama my first ship, and last game my Alabama sank Massachusetts in a duel
I agree with your views. I would add that it seems to excel between 11km and 16km. Other than that sweet spot , you don't want to be in this ship.
What ship you do recommend for someone who doesn't play well in any ship? :D
Seems like the dispersion tightens up when firing at targets at 11+km away.

Haven’t played Alabama for years. Between North Carolina and Massachusetts, it’s what I’d call neither-here-nor-there-IOW, mostly useless.
you get Alabama for the asw. lol. i have Alabama and I like the guns and AA. I prefer massi but i had to get the ship i saw IRL

Its the same concept as wichita. It has the worst parts of balti and cleveland combined in 1 ship
So basically a Texas on T8?
how do u get fire countdown timer and detection timer?
Your dispersion seems way better then my Alabama b by quit a bit yes I did the gun build

1st comment.
Also ew average american BBs.
Iowa supremacy

Got it in a crate. Looks nice.
Why would WG have release a Alabama Red and now a Alabama B. What a money grab.

Yeah.. I'd rather just play Yumihari instead.
Having played AL on console, this version is VERY underwhelming...........
Ah yes, USS Alabama, never given a chance by its sisters...
hehehe
