I have a dc cupped solar edge 10 kilowatt system. One mouth old and my inverter went out. Thinking about adding a battery this year. Maybe a tesla power wall 3 and would like to use your expelled of using the clipped energy to change the battery. What do you think?
That’s definitely an option I’d consider. It’d be more expensive to replace everything on the roof, but will likely give you the best experience. I’d steer clear of SolarEdge tbh. Too many inverter failures.
If one has an EV can the DC power coming from the solar panels or the battery be used to directly charge the EV without it having to be converted to AC and then back to DC by the EVs internal inverter?
Sure, but this feature is just not quite there yet at scale. A few manufacturers are integrating DC-charging into their stack, but I've yet to see it personally.
Great video 🔋
Thanks! 😎
