Hey I have a radiator guard that is mounted at the steering damper as well, and the bracket up there ist about 2,5-3mm thick, which would mean that the bracket for the upper crashbars would sit a few millimeters lower. Do you think that this would make the installation impossible? I really like the idea of the extra mounting points, makes them much more durable than the competition!
Hey team. I just put a new set of these on my 1090 left c clamp was tight like in the video actually pushes on the fuel tank bike is fresh as new never dropped. Why is the clamp so tight to the tank? Thanks.
Great video! It made me confident I can do the install just fine. Do your upper crash bars need to be removed in order to remove the side fairings and the fuel tank? 👍🏼
I just installed a set on my 2018 KTM 1090 and they fit well except the back clamp on the bottom bar where it hooks to the stock crash bar is touching the tank. I had to ground down the back of the clamp to get it to clear.
Thanks for your feedback. It’s possible that your OEM lower crash bars are bent or shifted. That’s likely the only reason why the clamp would come in contact with the fuel tank.
@@Outbackmotortek the bike has never been down “surprisingly” in 12k miles (about half off road) so not sure why they would be bent. Didn’t really matter much, just giving a little feedback in case someone else had that problem. It’s a bike, nothing is perfect.
@@advrider76 ok, no worries. The OEM lower bars bend easily. Just by using it as a tie down point for transporting it on a trailer can easily misalign it. Anyhow, these are just tips to figure out a reason for the clamp coming in contact with the fuel tank. Otherwise we have had received such a feedback since 2017.

Are these bars compatible with the original metallic radiator protector of the motorcycle? I mean the original ktm pp, not the R.

Possibly yes, but we can't confirm. It's compatible with the OEM plastic radiator guards though.

Unfortunately we can’t advise regarding the fitment of our upper crash bars with radiator guards. We’re really sorry

We’ve never attempted to remove the side fairings and the fuel tank mounted. I’m guessing it should be okay.
No they don't have to be removed at all, they are completely out of the way.
Looking at getting these bars and your bash plate.
How does your bash plate attach though? Is it the same sort of brackets as the KTM bash plate?

Just bought a used 2018 1090R with a Tusk motocross-style high front fender installed by the previous owner. Will your upper crash bars fit?
It’s possible. If you need to create clearance, just use additional washers or spacers.

VaraFab31 the OEM lower crash bars on 2013-2014 1190 Adventure are about 1”/2.5cm lower
It's a pity that you have no crash bars for KTM 1290 Super Adventure 2015 :/
