Well done Ronan. Forget about what some people have been saying. You are a great guy who has achieved great things. I wish you luck for the future and also if you ever fancy testing your skills out on the street, you know where I am.
Congrats on Ronan for winning the series, he truly deserved it. On another note, while I know Countdown doesn't have a studio audience anymore, I'm still curious to know how loud the applause was at 7:50?
We’re definitely going to miss Ronan blowing us away with many nine letter words as well as becoming the next person to reach far over 1000 points in total.. :3
I'm in no doubt the standard has gone through the roof recently, I'm in awe...and as to the smart Alecs who are offering answers...🤐 I'm chuffed Colin got the job, he eats and breaths Countdown, a pity Channel 4 couldn't see they had there man before they got overpaid has-beens only to do a runner...
In the first numbers round, I also spotted that the square of 9 made 6 over 75, but I used it this way: 50 - 9 = 41 41 x 9 = 369 369 - 100 = 269 And if you want a typically showboating four-large solution, that was also possible with these numbers: 9 + 9 = 18 50 + 18 = 68 100 x 68 = 6800 6800 - 75 = 6725 6725 / 25 = 269 In this solution, the 100 is equivalent to 4 and the 75 to 3, because they're both divided by 25, so the equation becomes (50 + 9 + 9) x 4 - 3 = 269. In the second numbers round, I saw both contestants' solution, but I thought that would be my alternative and this would be theirs: 10 x 7 = 70 70 + 25 = 95 95 x 5 = 475 475 - 1 - 1 = 473 In the third numbers round, I saw the contestants' solution immediately, so I tried to find a way of using all the numbers just to make it more of challenge: 9 + 7 + 3 = 19 19 x 4 = 76 76 + 75 = 151 151 x 5 = 755 In the final numbers round, I saw Ronan's solution, and also had this equally easy one: 100 + 75 + 50 = 225 225 x 4 = 900 900 + 3 = 903 903 - 25 = 878 As well as this one: 25 - 4 = 21 50 x 21 = 1050 1050 + 3 = 1053 1053 - 100 - 75 = 878 Which is slightly more difficult, but still not a very challenging thing to spot.
Countdown Series 87 Finale (29 June 2023) 0939am 8.7.23 I feel we've been here before.... i aint seen countdown for years... and it seems to have been moved from it's original slot to 2pmin afternoon.. which is odd as no one will be watching at that time - schoolies used to run home form school to watch this. that's how much time's have changed... in all my time of watching the show - somewhere from ch4's inception in 1982.... was it? to the year 2016... i can safely say i never played countdown -i merely used to just watch the eggheads do their thing... p.s i think i managed to do the 755 maths puzzle, though...
absolutely enjoyed it congrats ronan ive enjoyed you having high scores its been fantastic rachael your their most times for the finals silly billy and for other times

Congrats Ronan. We'll See Countdown In Series 88
@jackharris4841 you can count on countdown fans to keep watching
Watched this today. Congratulations Ronan on winning Countdown this series.
Congrats on Ronan for winning the series, he truly deserved it. On another note, while I know Countdown doesn't have a studio audience anymore, I'm still curious to know how loud the applause was at 7:50?
the staff maybe
0:53 (9-100/25)+(75-50)=30x9=270
2:37 (7x10+25)x5-1-1=473
3:35 (3+7)x75+5=755
5:11 (50+75+100)x4-25+3=878
Rachel looks so proud of Ronan every time at the end of the numbers rounds.
Congratulations to Ronan Higginson what an amazing series this has been best of luck for your future !
Countdown Series 87 Finale (29 June 2023) 0945am 8.7.23 c'mawwwwn, let's 'av it!!!
For the first round, I found:
50 - 9 = 41
41 * 9 = 369
369 - 100 = 269
But what about the 25?
@@mckenna8663what about it?
Thanks!
We’re definitely going to miss Ronan blowing us away with many nine letter words as well as becoming the next person to reach far over 1000 points in total.. :3
Cillian has a gorgeous smile
878:
50 / 25 = 2
100 * 4 * 2 = 800
800 + 75 + 3 = 878
100 / 25 = 4
50 * 4 * 4 = 800
800 + 75 + 3 = 878
100 + 75 + 50 = 225
225 * 4 = 900
25 - 3 = 22
900 - 22 = 878
I love countdown
0:55 25+50+75+100+9+9=268 (1 away)
2:36 25×(10+7+1+1)=475 (2 away)
4:01 75×(3+7)+5=755
5:13 (50+75)×(3+4)+(100÷25)=879 (1 away)
I'm in no doubt the standard has gone through the roof recently, I'm in awe...and as to the smart Alecs who are offering answers...🤐
I'm chuffed Colin got the job, he eats and breaths Countdown, a pity Channel 4 couldn't see they had there man before they got overpaid has-beens only to do a runner...
269:
50 - 9 = 41
41 * 9 = 369
369 - 100 = 269
9 * 9 = 81
81 - 50 = 31
75 / 25 = 3
100 * 3 = 300
(Or: 100 / 25 = 4, 75 * 4 = 300)
300 - 31 = 269
75 - 50 - 9 = 16
16 * 9 = 144
144 + 100 + 25 = 269
9 squared is 81. Beautiful fact. That is.
First one 9 x (50 - 9) - 100 = 269
And last one I did 4 x (100 + 75 + 50) - 25 + 3 = 878
In the first numbers round, I also spotted that the square of 9 made 6 over 75, but I used it this way:
50 - 9 = 41
41 x 9 = 369
369 - 100 = 269
And if you want a typically showboating four-large solution, that was also possible with these numbers:
9 + 9 = 18
50 + 18 = 68
100 x 68 = 6800
6800 - 75 = 6725
6725 / 25 = 269
In this solution, the 100 is equivalent to 4 and the 75 to 3, because they're both divided by 25, so the equation becomes (50 + 9 + 9) x 4 - 3 = 269.
In the second numbers round, I saw both contestants' solution, but I thought that would be my alternative and this would be theirs:
10 x 7 = 70
70 + 25 = 95
95 x 5 = 475
475 - 1 - 1 = 473
In the third numbers round, I saw the contestants' solution immediately, so I tried to find a way of using all the numbers just to make it more of challenge:
9 + 7 + 3 = 19
19 x 4 = 76
76 + 75 = 151
151 x 5 = 755
In the final numbers round, I saw Ronan's solution, and also had this equally easy one:
100 + 75 + 50 = 225
225 x 4 = 900
900 + 3 = 903
903 - 25 = 878
As well as this one:
25 - 4 = 21
50 x 21 = 1050
1050 + 3 = 1053
1053 - 100 - 75 = 878
Which is slightly more difficult, but still not a very challenging thing to spot.
755:
7 + 3 = 10
75 * 10 = 750
750 + 5 = 755
9 - 7 = 2
75 * 2 = 150
150 + 4 - 3 = 151
151 * 5 = 755
75 + 7 = 82
82 * 9 = 738
5 * 4 = 20
20 - 3 = 17
(Or: 4 * 3 = 12, 12 + 5 = 17)
738 + 17 = 755
how do they get up from their seats that fast i dont really get it
It was edited to make it look like they did.
They are superhuman!

I'd have said LOUSYTRAP for the conundrum
269. 100+75=175:25=7*50=350 9*9=81. 350-81=269
878. 25-4=21*50=1050-100-75-3=878
If a seeker caught the golden snitch then they would tie Ronan
7 times 3 times 9 times 4 is 360-108=252 times 3=756.
25 - 9 = 16
16 * 9 = 144
75 + 50 = 125
144 + 125 = 269
25-100=-75. 50+75=125.
I think could someone check that please
50 - 9 = 41
41 x 9 = 369
(369 - 100 = 269)
7 x 10 = 70
70 + 25 = 95
95 x 5 = 475
(475 - 1 - 1 = 473)
100 + 75 + 50 = 225
225 x 4 = 900
25 - 3 = 22
(900 - 22 = 878)
2,500/125=20 +162.
81+75=156.
16 times 7 is 112.
75 times 5 is 375
269-81=188
473:
10 * 7 = 70
70 + 25 = 95
95 * 5 = 475
475 - 1 - 1 = 473
25 + 1 = 26
10 + 7 + 1 = 18
26 * 18 = 468
468 + 5 = 473
One large. 5 small.
1 add one is 2/1 squared is 1.
81
7 times 5 is 35 times 10 is 350
4 large. 2 small. Little complex combinations.
Out of time I had
(25-9)*9=144
144+100+75-50=269
Plus 125 that’s gonna get you the closest 271
100 times 81/25 8100/25=323.
Nine squared is 81.
absolutely enjoyed it congrats ronan ive enjoyed you having high scores its been fantastic
rachael your their most times for the finals silly billy and for other times
9 times 3 times 7 sorry not 8!!!
Can you upload the one from yesterday please Friday
50+9+9 = 68X100 = 6,800-75 = 6,725÷25 = 269
25-9 = 16X9 = 144+75 = 219+50 = 269
25+1 = 26 10+7+1 = 18X26 = 468+5 = 473
7+3 = 10X75 = 750+5 = 755
75+7 = 82X9 = 738 5X4 = 20+738 = 758-3 = 755
75-3 = 72 25-4 = 21X50 = 1,050-72 = 978-100 = 878
100+75+50 = 225X4 = 900+3 = 903-25 = 878
