I couldn't even come up with an interesting seven as an alternative, because the only two I could see were the result of removing the S's: SUBHEAD and QUASHED. In the last letters round, there were a couple of eights: PLATONIC and POETICAL. In the numbers round, I didn't even see Rachel's solution, but had this alternate solution instead: 9 x 3 = 27 27 - 3 = 24 100 - 24 = 76 76 x 6 = 456 456 + 10 = 466
If I were given the choice between £1000 I could spend on whatever I wanted, or a set of books supposedly "worth" £4000 I think I would go for the 1000 every time. It's not like he can sell it for £4000.

I have met him in person he is a really nice guy.
This young lad is incredible. I'm more than twice his age, and he would've thrashed me big style if I was his opponent. A well deserved win.
Another way to get 466 is this:
3+9=12,
12X3=36,
36X10=360,
360+100=460,
460+6=466.
