    VTA’s Gillig Low Floor Plus HEV Belugas have finally entered service, after sitting in the yard for a few months. This unit 3405 is the first-ever unit that rolled into service, featuring an aligned hairline on the roof, L shaped headlights, interesting looking stop request buttons, and USB port charging under the seats.
    I was talking to the operator, and he was saying that the controls are a bit different than regular Low Floor HEVs, such as the 6400 and 7400s. Although they do look almost exactly the same, a relief operator taking over the bus has difficulty turning on the bus and moving it, as that was his first time driving it but did not have much training on it.

    The USB ports and the button+ strings are nice touches, but you just can’t beat those 20 yr old museums rolling down the streets

      I guess it depends on how people think and prefer in comparison of these two types of buses

    We just got those same buses here in Albuquerque. The drivers I've talked to hate them.

    3400s will only be in cerone and Chaboya. They will likely send over former north 100s from cerone and Chaboya back to north along with half of the 7400s from Chaboya to replace the diesels there and allow the 7400s to fit into cerone and Chaboya.
