Welcome onboard a 29-foot shorty bus in Santa Clara!
Given how the weather is getting hot recently, riding on a very cold freezing bus is one of the best things to do during midday. With me riding this line for the first time, I find the route a bit long but not too bad. Riding this from Saratoga & Stevens Creek to Old Ironsides Station actually has two options, either the more direct 57 that goes almost on a straight line, or the 59 that goes via Santa Clara Caltrain and Westfield Valley Fair.
This operator is driving super fast! With this bus being very powerful, he stepped on the gas pedal hard, and the bus goes smoothly. Along the way, there were not too many passengers, which caused the bus to be ahead of schedule once we got to Santa Clara TC. The ridership of this route is not extremely high but can be very helpful as this serves as a connection between Caltrain Station to east side of Santa Clara or west to Saratoga.

I like baby gilligs too! Had them on routes 72/73 numerous times as they’re an uncommon catch and 59 (common sight). 59 was my first VTA local route, I usually ride frequent routes.
