@@GTZ05 It's a shame the last 5.O V8 went to MAF sensor. Even though they had a little more power, they always felt boggy and slower than the 5.O V8 with MAP sensor. The 195i really was underpowered for the weight of the VTs.
Sounds crispy as mate. Beautiful car. I had a 2000 S3 maloo with the roller motor. It came new with the vt hsv steering wheel but have seen other vs maloos with standard holden emblem. I love those rims, i had them on my VX R8. Very classy rim. Did the senator come with the cup holders or was there a flip up lid with the build number my vx had the pop up center consol.( Edit. Should have finished watching the video before asking questions. )
Thanks mate.. the series 3 Maloos or at least the late ones did have the HSV emblem in the steering wheel, pretty cool if you ask me being the only VS to get that.. I would love a 195i VS Maloo.. I also love the VX HSV model, great body kit on them also..
@@GTZ05 the AU was awful, the tickford kits helped. But then with a few tweaks to the body the BA XRs looked really good. Actually I reckon were the rear spoiler saved the AU, the VT rounded boot continued the nice line off the roof, they look good with the body kit minus the rear spoiler.
Holden 5l sounds tuff but they’re slow asf especially in a heavy ass vt and no where near as powerful or rubust as an ls, switching to ls motors was the best thing holden ever did
They are def not fast that’s for sure. I’ve owned multiple of both, but my personal experience is the opposite had many more problems with my LS motors than the 5L but the LS moves.
It is more so about owning a clean classic and 'analog' car that is a part of Australian motoring history. The LS is a fantastic platform for modifying and engine conversions, however this is the kind of car you take out for a Sunday drive to cruise around and enjoy it for what it is.
Extremely misleading. Its not the last of the V8 senators, as my mum has a VE senator, V8. The VTs were the last of the older 90s style V8s before the Gen 3 V8 engine was used.
Incorrect in 1998 the standard HSV motor was a 195i, 220i was optional on the Senator and Standard on the GTS… 185i was for the VR & VS models, check out the HSV website www.hsv.com.au/classics/?Series=VT&Model=Clubsport & my other Video with the HSV VT brochure VT Commodore #HSV Senator Clubsport GTS Manta, #holdencommodore #GMH #v8 #brock Brochure Series EP1 ua-cam.com/video/KRgbUt04RtY/v-deo.html

Final development to engine using roller cam and serpentine belts really smoothed out power delivery. Was robust and reliable engine.
It really did make it smoother even though all the injected 5litres were pretty smooth for their time. Great cruisers

Looks brand new. Beautiful example.
Thanks, It’s in pretty good condition for a 26 year old car.
Da Good old
GMH🇦🇺304
I USED TO HAVE A VN SV5000 THEN A VSII SS
THEY SOUND BLOODY GREAT
Both beautiful cars, I’d love to have a SV5000
These VTs were my childhood dream. Nice one.
I remember seeing my first VT at the back of the dealership the night before offical release. Was very cool.
This thing is sick man! 😍
Thanks buddy, it’s no bullet but looks and sounds the part 😍
Very unique as its the last of the Holden v8s. Last true Holden. I'd swap a SS torana for this particular specimen
I would love a Torana in my collection.
Nice VT Senator I can see you filmed it in Bankstown airport lol 👍👍
Thanks mate, you’re spot on there lol 🙂
Beautiful car mate 😊
Thanks 🙂
Nice man!
Cheers Jake

Another great video, with heaps of good information 👌
VY2 CLUBSPORT NEXT PLZ
Thanks, I do have A VY2 R8 in the family so it will definitely be on the list 👌
Thats one sick beemer
Haha thanks
your channels awesome huge holden fan
Thanks Anthony, glad you are enjoying it
Still got my vr clubsport with the 5 litre
Love the VR, I also have a VR HSV, if you are in Syd might see you around sometime

I have a VT roller/stroker engine in my HZ premier on a carb, can hear the roller lifters , sounds cool
A perfect motor for the HZ, would love a HZ someday, my grandfather had one so lots of good childhood memories.
👌👍😎🇦🇺🍻
🙂
Good to see the roof lining sagging on the sunroof - that's how you know it's a holden.
The wonders of a 26 year old car 🤣
The VT was the best styled Holden since the HQ coupe.
Was a top shape that’s for sure… much more liked than the AU Falcon

Nice vehicle mate did this model come in manual would've been a lot more fun
Thanks mate, there are some manuals but not many, there are also some
with the optional
Stroker motor and manual also.. super rare
U used to peel 245/40/18's from a standstill on dry bitchumen. 304's are just plain lazy.
They are def no rocket that’s for sure, but you can still fry them up. For speed I drive something different.

Last of the Aussie built v8 being a 5 litre, gen 3 v8s are American built...
Exactly right Nicholas, thanks for answering and pointing out the obvious 👌
Senators ran up until VF, did you not watch the video properly 😂
Mate where did he say that. You must be too young to know it was the last Aussie 5lt before the LS motors which are Chev built.
Only mislead ya self mate 😂
