- In today's video I show you around my newly purchased Vauxhall VXR8 GTS. In most parts of the world these cars are better known as the Holden HSV GTS. This mixes a Supercharged 6.2 Litre Chevrolet V8 a Manual Gearbox and RWD with a Saloon car chassis thats seen generations of development in the Australian V8 Supercar series.

What can I say an amazing car. And full of power I want one please never been in anything like it in my life. It’s mental
And you never will again - that's why we buy them!

@@Pia-ho9dm stopped making them in 2017.
Just watched this again have more appreciation for this car
You've hit the jackpot mate. I wish i had your car. 💯
@@JK-rz9xj thankyou, tempted to do a wikinshaw 557 pack
@rowanlewisuk don't be tempted mate, do it. On behalf of all the kiwis and Aussies you've got a winner there.
I'd only ever seen three of these, and two of those were in showrooms, before I bought my own one at the start of the year.
@@hooskworks same here this is the second one I have ever seen and both were after me specifically going to the showrooms
Congrats on the purchase mate, you'll never get tired of hearing that sound - I never do ❤
Awesome car. Congratulations on the wise purchase.
Can't wait to get mine back on the road 😢
@@thebomber5028 what’s happened to it?
@rowanlewisuk got a 2007 vxr8 think the timing chains slipped a tooth and bent a few push rods
Awesome cars, even the older vxr8 just as much fun once you own one you really appreciate what great cars they are.
I love the older vxr8. Im considering getting one to build into a track car
Welcome Back Rowan and what a car to come back too they are a monster of a car
It’s great fun in the dry. Im not brave enough to try it in the wet 😂
Get an OTR on that beast ASAP! These are fetching hefty money over here, all the HSV range are really. Cheapest are gonna be the VE series Clubsports that are 17 years old and they’re still starting around $50k AUD
@@TomasUjhelyi whats an otr? They are expensive here too. Works out around 100k aus
@@rowanlewisuk Over The Radiator cold air intake. I’ve got the VF SS Commodore with the Walkinshaw 375 pack. Pretty standard beginner upgrades which include OTR, ceramic coated headers, dual cat backs and tuned to run on 98 Octane
Its cool to see our aussie cars over that side of the world!!! I feel our aussie cars dont get the credit they deserve sometimes we also have arguably the best 6 cylinder motors in the world the ford barra a 4 liter inline 6 turbo 😁
There are a few falcons going around but they never really sold them so they are imports. They are very good cars its a shame they weren’t so easily available
great video thanks mate
Nice ❤
Yeap awesome car i had he same spec Aussie version, in red hope to get the final version soon F2 with a 600kw upgrade
Nice car......I have one im in Australia . If you need parts let me know i can source them for you . Should upgrade that stock air intake , to an air pod hear that blower whine
I have seen your videos enjoy the content. Im gonna need a few bits soon such as bumper clips etc. i want it booked in for the uk version of a wilkinshaw 557 kit end of this year
@@rowanlewisuk Nice they are a decent kit yes .
You really have to stand next to it or in it to really appreciate the noise
Absolutely Stellar
Install an OIL CATCH CAN
Is that a problem on these?
Increased crank case pressure...pushes loads of oil back into the manifold and throttle body.
Oil catch can does exactly what it says: catches the oil from the crankcase and only allows air to travel back into the manifold. Carefully remove the rubber pipe from infront of the throttle body and clean the black soot with carburettor cleaner(spray same on a towel)
I have elite engineering catch can on my LS3 and works a treat
Nice!
do you know why the vauxhall has the red circle reflecter on the back and the australian version doesn’t?
*It's because they get heaps more foggy days in the UK than Australia and it's always dark and raining in the UK as well. It helps prevent getting rear ended in poor visibility.💯%*
Only 50% chev engine,,black part genuinely are black, the Aliminium is Australian....Brakes, suspension and all other parts are Australian
@@andyalways8081 i have to agree. I have done alot more research since posting this video and yes it’t not a just chevy engine holden did a lot of engineering on the lsa.
brakes are ap racing which is uk company, magneride shocks are delphi/gm
Beast. I have one in Australia also in white. They are over $100k down here bro.
@@danielyoukhana5936 its awesome. They cost about the same here once you convert the currency
As an Aussie....they are not over $100k. Unless you're in the eastern states where they charge sentimental value. Anywhere from $36k to $70 realistically which is about £15k to £35k
@@kierenmcgivern for this shape your looking about £50k uk. ve clubsports are about £18-£25k. Monaro non supercharged about £10k
@@rowanlewisuk seen a few online as I'm looking to buy which the vxr8 flags up around the £20-25k range. Albeit not supercharged so your point is more accurate than mine.
@@kierenmcgivern factory supercharged ve shape ones can go for 40-50k bathurst s for example. Seen a few non factory supercharged for 27-30k
My favourite hsv is the hsv senator
@@Paradoxical124 it looks like a commodore to me. What’s the difference? We didn’t get them here
@@rowanlewisuk The HSV Senator combines luxury and performance, with its more understated executive looks. It has more power than the HSV Clubsport for instance, premium interior, and a comfortable yet sporty ride using its own special suspension. They were only sold in Australia.
what's the build date

In the US they are a Pontiac G8
the pontiac g8 is 10 years older than this. the closest thing you have is the chevy ss but thats ls3 not lsa like these.
