I think Fantasy Strike is one of the more balanced fighters out there. Divekick, Lethal League Blaze, Samurai Gunn deserve more players seeing them, too. Those 3 aren't "traditional fighters" but feel like fighting games very much.
I found about this game on Mizuumi Wiki (A gold mine for us). Games that i recommend are: Spectral VS Generation, wich is like a chinese Guilty Gear that is a crossover between two chinese rpgs (music goes hard) Kenju: An unreleased game that can be described as sf3 made by arcsys. (Art style and Aesthetic are beautifull) Akatsuki Blitzkampf/ En-Eins Perfektewelt: Two fgs with heavy ww2 aesthetic, and one of the best music ever made (Also is here where Akatsuki from Under Night In-Birth cames from) Dual Souls The Last Bearer: Well this is in another comment
Personally? I love this obscure fighting game. I would love to see Rouga as the guest character in Under Night for BBB. It definitely deserved a lot more love and respect
I remember. I was in college when my mIRC chat all went doujin hunting one momth, because we found a program to auto translate Japanese text(which was a big deal back then because there wasn't google translate yet and the nearest one was Babel fish)we came away with such gems like Eternal Fighters Zero, the first Touhou Fighting game about Suika, early cave story, and Big Bang Beat. My favorite was the The Super Hero looking kid that had moves from Uoung Joseph grom Jojo's, thr Main Character that had sprites modified from Sol Badguy, and the delinquint stick weilding Yankee that had moves copied from the pink yukata wearing guy from The Last Blade games ..
I remember seeing the katana girl in this game. Character appeal is the biggest thing for me in fighting games and I love her animations. Senna, that's her name
I just wanted to say your channel has been nothing but a godsend, Your vids are so fun to watch and I told myself that whenever u pop up on my feed again ima insta sub because I forgot too when I saw one of ur earlier vids and forgot your name ^^' Subbed :D
I literally forgot how I came across this game but I was playing this back in 2014 according to when I got the 1.06 patch files. I had a lot of fun playing this with a friend and was a Burai main ^_^
I hope you can play Dual Souls The Last Bearer next 🙏. Its a indie, turkish fighting game that you can play for less than 10 dollars on steam (or even for free on mobile). This game was made with love by a very small team, and they did an icredible work. Dual Souls plays a lot like third strike, the last blade, Guilty Gear and even Mortal Kombat. Here you have ex moves and two types of parrying: one that works exactly like sf3 and other that is kinda like reflectors from Akatsuki Blitzkampf. There is also burst and even yellow roman canceling. They even have fatalities for those who love violence. Also have a insane combo variety that makes you think a bit more than usual but really pays of. Also the plot is simple, but really takes itself serious. You can really see the Turkey influence on its aesthetic, plot and characters (especially with Efe, Nagashapa and André). In the end, Dual Souls its a fun game for everyone and one of the best of the decade, much more worth your money than SF6, Tekken 8 or MK1.
@@GohLow I saw that video a long ago but now i realized its you ☠️ you did a great job covering it. You might also cover slash the power battle for the full dual blades trilogy
@@GohLow Cheers from a Brazilian basic education teacher, then! I used to love that game. As a casual player, I'm unaware if it was any good by contemporary standards, but gosh did it have some cool aesthetics!
played around with this game on parsec with a few people on steam friends list in the past but dont know if theres actually a competitive scene with players who really learned the game. i wouldnt know how balanced this game is. air unblockables are nothing new. The game seems pretty slow compared to most air dashers but kind of fun in it's own way. sisters seem to be able to dp>shoot arrows to punish any punishment attempts free.
There’s a link to the wiki in the description, and on the main page it has a link to the download, as well as a Discord server that has plenty of people willing to help you troubleshoot
hey, script writer here, it's hard to pinpoint something exactly but I would say the game's universal systems are strong enough to prevent anything too broken from happening, and in addition, most of the characters in the game have a solid toolset that allows them to fill their own niche
Big Bang Beat - Revolve - is still a good game in its own right but it's a broken mess now. A lot of unwanted changes and such were made to the game at the end of its life cycle when Team NRF had some internal conflict within the group and they splitted apart. What remain of Team NRF formed Frontier Aja and those who were good artistic-wise but suck at game programming (as seen when a lot of the stuff in the game that people did not want) while the those who were good at programming wise left and worked on one final game which was Million Knight Vermillion...a game that was good to some degree but sucked so bad artistically which was obvious in the sprite work......even the character designer of Senko no Ronde couldn't help that game. Team NRF is no more but Frontier Aja is still around making console ports of their later games which are based on the Touhou series (Koumajou Densetsu). :: Edited: Corrections made on the teams.....got them mixed up ::
It's actually the other way around, at the beginning of the game's lifespan they didn't have any experienced team members working on the game. Later on the game was developed under the Frontier Aja umbrella and you can find it on their site, although unfortunately Frontier Aja seems to have closed down a couple years ago. BBBR 1.06 is a fix for a lot of the issues that plagued most of development and although it's not a perfect game, it is a lot more polished than previous iterations and surprisingly balanced and fun.
As an addendum to this, 1.06 is the dev team trying to fix as much as possible before the game is dropped and its evident in how much better it is than previous versions. I recommend giving it a shot, it's a very solid and fun game!
@@Syrkle I'll be honest, those final changes they made to Kunagi didn't sit too well with me. Also, yeah, I got the teams mixed up and it's the publisher who is releasing the console ports of Koumajou Densetsu series.
The art style character designs and systems are dope as hell. I just wish it was a little more flashy.🫤 not a fan of fighting games with 3 hit combos, lol. I wanna ruin someone's day.
What Niche Fighter should I look at next? If you've got a script for one, my Twitter DMs are open.
Maybe I’ll write a Fuuka Taisen script…

I wrote a lot of that wiki, I’m glad to hear that it’s been helpful in getting the word out!
The RPG aren't chinese though. Only the Arcade game is.
I was searching for abandoned Windows games soundtracks, and I came across the soundtrack of this game. I loved his gameplay and art style.
I fucking love this game. Never expected a video on it to bless my algorithm.
I never expected a script for it to land in my lap 😂. Really enjoyed getting the footage for it.

This is awesome, thanks for letting me help out with the video!
This video doesn't exist without your script. Thank you a ton!
I did play it. I had it. Rouga was my main. I still have the combo video about him saved in my Likes list. Burai was my secondary.
I played the hell out of this and EFZ. Good times.

Yeah same. If I like the look of a character, that's all I need to give a game a shot.
Looks like a very cool game. Need to go look up the full opening now after that tease.
Yeah it's a lot of fun, and the intro kicks ass.
We’ve built up a fantastic resource on Mizuumi, I can’t recommend playing it enough!
My buddy Syrkle dragged me to play this game…

Gotta mention it’s eroge roots as well (another thing it shares with melty blood)

The boxer looks like Ed before Ed.
The little blonde girl reminds me of Rachel Alucard. Cool to see the potential influence.
The whole game takes a lot of references from various fighting games for its systems, it’s really cool!
I like the artstyle
Yeah it's real neat
Hell yeah, I love this game. You should maybe cover Hinokakera Chaotic Eclipse and EsLaf++ (or even EsLaf 1) at some point

It's a fantastic game. But I wouldn't go that far.
the big bang beat manifesto goes 'big bang beats are the best, get high all the time'
At the time it felt like a much more all encompassing philosophy.

No, obscure fighting games are like Best of Best or Net Fighter. Big Bang Beat Revolve and Martial Champion are still pretty mainstream.
