The thing that makes this truck stand out from the slash, is that it offers a competitive entry price to the slash, but where it changes the game is that it offers more upgrade paths, not specifically in aftermarket parts available, but that you can move to brushless and also 4wd. The slash is a 2wd only platform, only way to upgrade is to spend the money on a 4x4 roller and move everything over.
Have a 2wd slash and and getting this Friday, my slash has 3s lipo setup and even on slicks it’s so fast I’m in the middle of putting a lowered chassis together
The Senton is a great Short Course Truck for people new to the RC world of just for people who want to have fun with a new version of an old platform. What do you think about it?
I think the built in upgrade path on the Senton is a really nice option. As opposed to the traxxis which forces you to invest in new gear. For 35 bucks you can add 4wd to the Senton and for another 40 bucks go to the brushless motor. The slash is good for what it is but your pigeon holed into having to spring for a new truck if you want 4wd. For a basic getting started fun truck the Senton is the better option i think
For me, the Senton is the better choice, you can move it to 4x4 very simply. Both Models are able to brushless, but i really like the Standard Spektrum SMART LIPO. Only the 14 hex Tyres from the Senton are bad.
I just took out my first RC Truck, Arrma Senton 4x4, what is the best way to clean the chassis ? The field was a bit wet and when I took off the body it was full of grass, mud and sand. I left it overnight to dry out which helped. Thank you for any suggestions.
Yes I agree. As it was a store demo model that others will use too I didn't wanna get it dirty. That's a good idea for next time maybe I'll sneak some dirt action in with the Vorteks review coming Friday!
Hey Mike, how do the front wheels attach on the 4x2(could you post a vid or pic). I have a Senton 3S running Typhon 3S 17mm hubs and wanted to do the 17mm hubs on the 4x2 to make a rear wheel drive street car on Hoons. Possible? Cheers
You cannot run 3s on this configuration you would need to buy the 3S capable electronics. You should be able to purchase this stuff at your local hobby shop. If not you can find it on their website.
100%. It also allows you to charge other batteries for other vehicles, if you buy them in the future. There are others as well that will charge larger batteries too. That's for if you get crazy and start buying the 6s-8s monster batteries
Thanks for making this video because I’ve been looking for testing videos on this truck to no avail. I’ve been wanting a 2WD Slash lately and went to the LHS yesterday to look at some. They had the Senton Boost as well so I checked it out, and really like it! It looks great and the suspension feels nicer moving it around on the counter. My concern is will it have the same overheating issues and motors dying as the Mega line has experienced running on 2S. My brushed Bandit has been run on 2S almost always and has been a champ, with long run times and no electronic troubles.
No problem I'm happy I was able to help. I agree the way the suspension feels on the counter. The slash and this are two totally different vehicles. The Senton is a little heavier. Slash a little faster. But overall they are both a blast. It's a tough choice between the too tbh!

Do you think the 4x4 alumin hinge pin mounts on the 4x4 chassis are an advantage over the 2wd chassis that doesnt have that option?
What connector is on the battery? I my son has the 4wd one with ic3 connector. Also does that s155 charger take ic3 without a adapter?
The connector for the boost is IC3, and yes the charger can do both IC3 and IC5 without an adapter.
@@MikesHobbyPlanet thank you

Air compressor of it's dry
Good test. It would be interesting to do the same on dirt. I bet the traction would be even more of an issue. Thanks for the comparison

@@MikesHobbyPlanet Thanks Mike, appreciated brother.
How do u recharge the battery if u don’t mind me asking? Like what port do u use
If you buy this exact model it comes with a small charger that you just plug the orange connector into. It's very simple.
The Senton Rocks, hard Basher good Price but can He run in 3s Lipo ? Or need optional gears ? And where to get ?

Based , perchance I look into buying the charger you recommended, seems like it is worth the buy.

Can I buy a brushless Traxxsas conversion kit from you for $70
I haven't tested them yet. I will be in a future video.
@@MikesHobbyPlanet well if possible I want to buy one
I have a TRAXXAS RAPTOR AND IT SEEMS FASTER THEN BOTH STOCK.
Should be about the same speed as the slash on the last run.
