To say Jesus would be mortified that someone started a religion in his name means that this man believes Jesus no longer exists. Also when Peter says “you are the Christ. The son of the living God” Jesus says “on this I will build my church.” Jesus made the religion right there, his church.
I feel like Rob has identified the short comings of the American cultural christian - the last 100 years we might say, or even the post enlightenment transformation of Christian faith, but it's sad he is so light on the history of Christianity, that is, the ways Christians engaged with the bible for centuries.
The very phrase "Jesus would be mortified" says it all. It's a future past tense as if he believes Jesus isn't alive and he can't know what is on Jesus's heart and mind. Jesus is very much alive and his Father has this whole world in his hands. He is sovereign and he is powerful. Jesus doesn't get mortified anymore. He sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. He knows the beginning and the end.
The time will come when men will not endure sound doctrine.
A very appropriate movie title.
The blind leading the blind.
Gnosticism. Nothing new.
To sum it up: Trying to wed far left ideology with what Jesus teaches. Doesn't work too well.
Rob Bell worships Rob Bell.
I love Fortnite!

The Bible is not about social justice. It's easy to see he's lost his way.
These comments are disgusting. Are you listening to yourselves?
Gotta say, this documentary has probably the most fitting title I have ever seen.
A clever devil he is

glad to see ONLY 633 comments which means and proves his little video means nothing to the masses. Thank God.
