When I was in college there weren’t a lot of videos with drag queens yet so we would pause the VHS and see which ones we could name. 3:20 - The queen in the long silver dress with the red hair is Viva Sex who is most known for her Madonna impersonation. I believe Gloria also took her on her tour and had her on stage at that time. 3:00 - another queen that did a lot of Madonna - Trinna Modele who was known as Shadonna at the time.

I dug most of her songs this cover is quite good but my favorite version is by Carl Carlton in 75. Actually the song is one of my favorite songs ever so upbeat and happenin.
This doesn't come with miles of the Carlton Carlton cover. Not close. Typically patreons pick their favorite versions or the one they know, and not the best.
I like Gloria's body of work, but I agree, Carl Carlton's version is the best in my view, the horns in that one are smokin' and the entire production is masterful. 🔥

If you actually paid attention to Empress' channel and got a sense of who her patreon's are, you would have known that I regularly offer up multiple versions of the same song for her to react to. In the case of this offering, I had a specific theme I was working with that was around the 90s pop emergence of drag into fashion. Hence this version of the song. Also. for what it's worth, your opinion of "the best" version of a song is just an opinion, not a fact.
