Now you know why GenX has such a diverse range of music tastes. Not only did we grow up surrounded by our parents music, we had the 70s groove, the techno 80s, and then SO MANY DIFFERENT 90s styles. My playlist jumps from Jim Croce, Johnny Cash, Eagles to NKOTB and Tiffany, to Metallica, Janet Jackson, AIC, STP etc... we literally had it all around, creating the soundtrack of our life ❤
And the limited experience people that said Led Zeppelin was the best there is and ever will be. I am sure they still think that way too. They missed out.
That's the Way Love Goes" is one of Janet Jackson's biggest hits in the United States and around the world…It was one of the longest-reigning hits of 1993, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, To date, it is the longest running number-one single of any member of the Jackson family on the Hot 100. The “Janet” album produced many hits including this one.
They don't know about any other members of The Jackson family but Michael, cause they just flat out refuse to do any other member. Including the Jacksons themselves. They were confused when they did a Jermaine track a few weeks back.
The 'Janet' album of 1993 was a worldwide phenomenon... UK bought it in the millions, if you don't do anything else this year, promise you will listen to the entire album. It will blow your minds, ps my first child was made listening to it, so maybe I'm biased... Keep up the good work!
You are right Carla! You had to be there to experience it! The 90’s produced some of the best music! As the 2000’s approached, it started to go downhill! R and B went out of the window! It was a great time! Great comment! ❤😎
J lo was a dancer on "In Living Color" that's how she got her start. This is my favorite from her Janet album. Not very many people react to her, they are truly missing out. Janets discography is just as good as Michaels IMO.
Wow! I just saw Janet Jackson's show on Friday night for my birthday! She's still got! What a performance, and in 85-degree muggy St Louis summer nights! Nelly was the warm act! So glad I went! She is a legend!💯👍
1993's Janet album is her Greatest Masterpiece in my opinion! Should have gotten nominated for Album of the year! Although, That's the way Love goes did win Best R&B Song at the Grammys.
Her song Together Again got me through losing my dad. He passed away in Nov 1997. He was 52 yrs old. I was 29 yrs old and a daddy’s girl. Janet definitely helped me at that time for sure
Love Janet. Other Janet songs from 90's: 1. "Runaway" - 1995 2. "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" - 1990 3. "All For You" - 2001 4. "Alright (Ft. Heavy D)" - 1990 5. "Miss you Much" - 1989
Janet has always made dance and love songs throughout her 51-year career in entertainment. This is just 1 of her many hits in the 90s. As you continue to review her catalog of videos, you will enjoy the many facets of Janet. JLO has said that Janet was a huge influence for her getting into the entertainment industry , and of course, Janet was a television actress at 9 years old before her music career began in the 80s. Thanks for another great review.😊
I've been requesting "Again" for 2 years. It was a #1 hit later in 1993. This is my absolute FAVORITE of Janet's CDs. A couple of the non-single releases could've easily been #1 hits.
One of the great things about Janet is how she always brings her team front and centre. All the women in this video are her dancers from this time and they regularly featured with her in everything she did at the time. She also had one of the most highly respected choreographers, Tina Landon, who is the woman sitting by the coffee table with the short brown hair and the white halter top. 90’s Janet was phenomenal and any girl I knew watched the videos on repeat to be able to copy the dancing. Truly special from all of them.
I FINALLY got to see Janet in concert last Saturday, and she KILLED IT! She still got it at age 58, and you can see how much fun she's still having performing after all these years! ❤❤❤❤❤
But only after discerning the lyrics. They wouldnt play it in SE Va. "This is a family station", the DJ disdainfully said as he scratched the record removing it from the turntable.
Jay and Amber, thanks for getting back to Janet! Such a great song. Hope you can listen to my favorites: Love Will Never Do Without You and Together Again. I think you’ll groove to both of them!
Janet's song "Again" is really nice, "If" is killer, "Together again" & "Runaway". Angie Stone has some bangers "No more Rain" and "Wish I didn't miss you".
Another of my favourite Janet Jackson songs. And you've still only scratched the surface! Some of my other favourites: "If", "Miss You Much", "Love Will Never Do (Without You)", "Runaway", and "Together Again".
My favorite Janet CD - every song! I was 34 in 1993 when this was released, and I bought it right away. I took it on my first cruise that Spring, and now when I hear this and the other songs, I remember that cruise. Very special memory. I will see Janet in July in Washington DC🤗😍
OH HELL YES!!! I was so hoping you all would get to Janet 90s, cause truly this is where Janet separates from most of her peers she started with, her R&B & Hip Hop bag were just as good as the pop & dance. I'm glad Jay waited a bit & opened up cause really with the songs listed, this fits THOSE this is served in the same vein as Jodeci & Mary J. Blige. I'll be back with a good R&B 90s list. It's the last decade that R&B was truly GREAT.
Also once you see J.Lo as Selena you'll never not see her as an actress to date its her best role.....and we been wanting yall to do that 1 for a reason
This song was #1 for 8 weeks. Longer than any of Michael's songs. Other huge Janet hits from the 90's - "All for You" - #1 for 7 weeks and "Love Will Never Do Without You" which also hit #1. Also, I think of Jennifer Lopez was more of an actress - remember she played "Selena" in the movie of the same name which really put her on the map. Ironic that both Paula Abdul and Jennifer Lopez hit it big time after working with Miss Janet!
Just had to mention MJ. I promise you you don't want to go there. Enjoy Janet's music without mentioning MJ. God some of you Janet fans are annoying asffff
I will never forget. I was at our favorite Club with my good friend in the mid 2000s when the DJ put this Jam on and I am not kidding you EVERYBODY hit the Dance Floor immediately!! Me and my friend danced together and it was like one of those Moments in a Movie.. a very rare Awesome Moment in Time that only happens occasionally in life.. We were all so happy, all of us on the dance floor, having a time together.. My friend, Julian, tragically passed away a few years after that just in his early 30s.. Such a great memory of him to be left with though! My favorite Janet song for sure!!
This song is truly infectious. One of her greatest, most sensuous singles to date. Such a huge hit, rocketing Janet into the super atmosphere of stardom.
I clicked this video as soon as I saw the song! I grew up hearing a VAST variety of music. Anything from Motown to Black Sabbath and everything in between but nothing hits my soul the way 90's music does. Janet is definitely an artist that comes to mind when thinking of that decade. "Again" is another slower song that hits just right (unless you're longing for someone in particular) it's definitely one to check out.
I love how this is such a chill Janet song. I hope you guys check out the Michael and Janet video for the song "Scream." You guys should also check out the group TLC and their song "Creep."
Someone can correct me if im wrong, think JLo started as a dancer on the late 80s comedy sketch show In Living Color as one of the fly girl dancers which also put Jim Carrey on the map as one of the main stars of the show

Trust me, you want to watch the video to "If" but you want the all dance version. She is popping and locking the hell out of "If!"
I love the all dance version! ❤
The all dance version is the only one I watch
“if” was her best video just for the dancing. She killed it! She also killed the performance of that song at the VMAs.
Great choice for a Janet Jackson song, love the riff in that song!
If. Is the best.
This is actually one of Janet's biggest hits ever.
Yessir!
Exactly 💯
This song is smooth as butter! Janet Jackson was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. She is so deserving! 😎❤️
Not 1 I remember, I remember Alright with Me and that album
No it's not , Rhythm Nation is
Believe me when Janet Jackson dropped this tune. Everyone hit the dance floor with their Boo's
I love 90's Janet. This song is a perfect example of what most 90's R&B was, just so smooth.
It’s not slow….it’s Silky Smooth!
absolute fact
They react to so much Rock they can't appreciate R&B/Soul.
Right? They need to check out the smooth choreo for this song when she performed it at the VMAs.
These people don’t get it. This is classic Janet

J Lo's movie acting career was launched when she played Selena in the bioptic movie 'Selena' in 1997.
Lol I just put that on the comment to.
Actually she was in Money Train with Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson in like 1995.
I liked her in The Wedding Planner
Before all of that JLo was a Fly girl on the show "In Living Color"as a Dancer.
She has had some part in around 40 movies.
"Love Will Never Do Without You" Great song! Awesome video!

All for you by Janet is a must
One of the great pop songs of the 90s. So smooth, so sexy. Plus J-Lo! Jay, you NEED to get on "Love Don't Cost a Thing"!!!
If you wanna see Janet Jackson dance solo for 5:13 watch the MTV version of ‘The Pleasure Principal’ from 1986!
“If” and “Throb” from this same album are bangers!
My favorite Janet tune...love it!!!
