Great job Meg, you are getting a lot better and pushing harder every time. That crash almost looks like you had a pedal strike from the way the back end got tossed out. That is just the way the video footage made it look to me though and of course I could always be wrong. Keep it up though you are doing great.
I could see the progression through the races, and you were the really letting it hang out there on the third race! Congratulations well done! And it looks like your front wheel just kinda lost traction Maybe even a little off the trail, but I mistake that everybody makes once in a while. Again, congratulations on an awesome race!
Washed out, maybe too much tire pressure, could be a few things really, hard to tell really from the bodycam. Her form looked fine from the cam, but body weight placement can be a thing. Pretty cool to see shes already racing, I cant imagine even attempting a race although I do ride pretty fast and jump stuff, the level other dudes ride at is super intimidating especially on the island where I'm at. Recently rode a trail that was supposedly used as a Island Cup DH course at one time in Nanaimo, it was pretty chill really, no where near as steep as the Mt. Benson trails I've tackled plenty of times now, which pretty much forced me to level up to a FS Trek Slash to keep down the chatter on steep stuff and keep the tires gripping, still gunna ride hardtail for flow trails and bike packing though, can never have too many bikes, I'm up to 6 including BMX and DJ, budget GT hardtail for intown (nanaimos rough) and vintage Apollo from Cap's in the 80's for the odd road/paved path excursion. Cheers and keep racing.
Thank you for the tips! I’m pretty sure it was entirely poor form on my part ;-). Sounds great in Nanaimo! Six is the perfect number of bikes, I think! - M

Thank you so much! The pedal strike is very likely, yes. I was quite exhausted and felt very sloppy indeed. Thanks for the advice! - M
You guys have got me hooked on trying enduro! Got to try it! Glad that was a minor wash out.
We are happy to hear about your idea to try enduro. It’s very fun; type II fun ;-). Thank you so much! - M

Thank you so much! Well said, “hang out there”; that’s exactly what happened ;-). Many thanks for the encouragement and technical advice! - M
