- Unified champion Eddie Gilbert is interviewed about his match vs Ricky Morton. Ricky comes out and they get into a confrontation. After that, Ricky has a squash match vs The Invader.
This was after he was let go by WCW and before Smokey Mountain Wrestling got really going. Ricky would go on to become USWA champion after beating Eddie and would reunite with Robert Gibson as the Rock N Roll Express and feud with The Gilberts(Eddie and Doug) and the Moondogs.
Eddie Gilbert should be in the Hall of Fame

Unfortunately, after USWA left Texas, I didn't get to see it. I've enjoyed these clips. I think I've read that Ricky & Eddie were a tag-team at one time.
I gotta give him his credit...Eddie Gilbert sure could sell himself as the heel. Great performances.
I will always remember Eddie Gilbert (RIP) as *one of the greatest heels* in pro wrestling* and he hands down was. He so totally made the two years that UWF was around intense with his and Missy Hyatt as the most narcissistic couple in the business.
Ricky Morton was is a great promo as well. Doesn't get mentioned enough. Great worker too.
This would be late July 1992. After Morton left WCW at the end of his heel run, and just before reformed the Rock N Roll Express in August.

hands down the greatest heel in Memphis. He was Bizarro to Lawler's Superman. Ricky Morton could work anybody and make them look like a million bucks if he wanted. fun fact, there's a booker term called "you're gonna be Ricky Morton tonight."
ricky morton had one of the best hairdos in the biz
Morton and Gilbert made this look real and it flowed so smooth in and out of the ring. I really miss these days as opposed to the trash we have with WWE.

Because he said that during a shoot interview he was in along with Manny Fernandez and for some reason that one expletive filled line has stuck with me since.
