did do the dvd camera for 8.95 from seicane. used the app on screen DVR it works seamlessly. and records at a touch even if you go to other functions, the unit delievers more than i expected. and thanks to you even more. thanks for the videos.

I mirrored my phone onto my tablet but I don't have full control of my phone on the tablet, I can't use the touchscreen on my tablet to change things like volume etc... on my phone. Mine sounds great. Less overall bass from the sub, but good quality overall. I believe that there is an option to calibrate the screen in the factory settings menu.

I don't have the OBDII bluetooth adapter.. I didn't get it because I have the Superchips TD2... and it covers everything I need there. Here's some info on the 67 Designs mount on my dash... o3djeeps.com/?s=67d I will say, it's a little less stable with this new stereo...because the top cubby panel isn't as solid. I may find a way to make it rigid again.

My seicane goes on black screen time to time, the only solution that I found so far is to disconnect my Jeep's battery and reconnect it again. Seicane support is a really awful they don't give me a solution so far.
Hey I bought the same unit because I loved the way your looked and review. I have two problems and wanted to bounce them off since as you know the Seicane support is extremely poor. One have you been able to get split screen to work and if so how? Second did you have any problems with Bluetooth connections, I can connect by phone but it will not even see my OBD2 dongle even though I bought it directly from Seicane. I know the OBD2 works because I can see with my phone it just won't populate the found Bluetooth devices on the head unit. Any help or insight you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Split screen, yes. I show briefly in this video at about 14 minutes in... ua-cam.com/video/E0_7fBZN5vQ/v-deo.html See if that helps. As far as the OBD2 dongle, I can't offer any experience there. Hopefully someone else can chime in. I don't know why it wouldn't work if it works with your phone... sounds like a pairing issue? Sorry I can't be of more help there.
Thanks CPO I had been looking at that unit. One question I have is I wonder how it handles the heat? I live in South Texas where inside a vehicle it gets extremely hot 100+ and my iPad mini won't work until it cools down, (I use it as my head unit). I wonder how the Seicane touch unit works in extreme heat. Pretty sure you might not be able to get it that hot up where you live. :)
It's a great question, and one I won't personally have the answer to until next summer! We do get hot here... just not as long of a season as Texas. I know Texas heat... I grew up in Houston/San Antonio. I can tell you in the summer here both of my phones will overheat if left in the Jeep on those hot days. The biggest issue with heat and portable electronics is the battery. That's the sensitive part of your iPad. That's why it's important to buy dashcams (as an example) that use capacitors for power and not batteries. This unit has no batteries... I don't know if that helps... but it certainly doesn't hurt the cause.
I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with the factory uconnect and AMP, my question or problem is I purchased the Seicane 10.1 with Android 7.1 and my IPhone with ISO 11.4 would connect but I could never hear bluetooth, people could hear me but I couldn't hear them, also any music played off of USB would show it was playing but no sound, I could play radio no problem. Seicane sent me a new 8 core Android 8 and I get the same thing. I have tried every Jeep in the CANBUS. It doesn't list any Jeep Wranglers so I have used a compass. Does anyone have any idea what to do. I've been working with Seicane support but it takes a very long time. I also have a problem I can't hear any NAV or google music over the radio but can here the radio.
I bought this unit for my 2017 Wrangler. My display doesn't look like that at all and it came with Android 6.0. Mirror link doesn't work at all. I hope support replies back to my e-mails. I would love if my interface looked and worked like this video.
Just installed this in my jeep. Sooooo easy. You have explained everything in great detail. Thank you for being so in depth. But for some reason, I cannot hear phone calls. Callers can hear me, but I can't hear the caller?
Are you using the external microphone that plugs into the back? If so... try it without that and see what happens. If not, try that and see what happens. I am still not using the external microphone, and have phone conversations all the time with just the built in mic in the front.
I didn't realize at the time, that the uconnect an the HU were both trying to use the bluetooth. After disconnecting the uconnect like you mentioned it works fine.

And I noticed when I installed the Joying head unit on my Jeep that my car compass (displayed on the screen behind the steering wheel) does not work and had two dashes instead..! How do I get the the compass on that shall screen behind the steering wheel to work..? I've recently went back to the factory uconnect navigation head unit that came with the car. And the compass when back to working just fine.

I think ok Google works as normal. I know it works when the Google search window is open.... But that's the only time I use it. And yes... It connects to WiFi hotspots automatically..

@@victorvalenzuela3775 you need to activate developer mode on your phone. Go in to settings, about phone, then find the build number, tap on build number I believe its 7 times (it will give you a count down for how many times you still need to tap) once you tap it enough times it will say developer mode enabled. Then go back to the main settings page and you will have an option for developer mode, tap on that, make sure it is toggled on, then scroll to the usb debugging made, toggle that on and bingo you are done. Connect the phone to your radio and follow the prompts

You missed the important information in that upgrade option: 8 - Core RAM:2G, ROM:32G Android 6.0 This is a quad core with 2GB of RAM... The "8- Core RAM:2G, ROM:32G Android 6.0" is an upgrade to a newer processor (good) but a downgrade in OS (less desirable). They will eventually have an updated OS for that PX5 processor...but it's not going to be a simple thing to achieve for most people. However, the 2GB of RAM on the quad core PX3 (the default for this model) is plenty fast enough and the Nougat Android OS gives you some more options if you like to tinker or want to run newer apps.
OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps I sure did miss that os downgrade part. They should just update it. I have joying radio now and they really good with updates. I guess I will wait for the Android 7 or 8 with 2gb with 32gb
Nobody has android 7 for the PX5 processor yet (the 8-core). 16gb v 32gb isn't really that big of a deal since you can add an SD card or a huge USB hard drive if you want! lol
I'm having trouble mirroring my phone! It's saying I need to install MOB interconnection service how do I do that on my radio? When I go in to my settings I go to developer options and put the password 7890 and it takes me to debugging mode but it's asking me for a password to Turn on but I don't know the password Please help Thanks!
Sorry, but I thought the entire thing was extremely boring. How many ways to you really need to play music??? Seriously. This unit has soooooo many more functions than just playing music. But you spend a ton of time just talking about fifty thousand ways to play music, with only small snippets of other things. Here's a hint. Try writing a script out before shooting the vid, and balance your subject matter. Cheers!
Too sluggish, personally I think it’s a waste of money, it’s way more comfortable just to install spotify in your head unit. I mean most of the countries are offering unlimited data, so sharing wifi is not a problem anymore.
I don't understand the question. This doesn't use android auto... but yeah... you can mirror movies from your android phone... but why when you can play them on the stereo directly.
Why? I just got mine today & installed on my 2011 JK & I have iPhone X. Everything working great other then callers can't hear me. Working on that issue now.

Hey Michael, I love it. I still have to remove it & see why the mic doesn't work but everything else is great. I can hear the caller but they can't hear me. Mine did come with the SD slot on the side plus a duel USB connector that I have in my glove box. Just remember to go through it and select correct areas, regions & settings so it doesn't keep rebooting. Worth the buy for sure!
If you're using Spotify premium, you can download playlists for offline listening. 👌🏼👌🏼 that's how i Spotify on my seicane unit.

My problem with BT calls is just the opposite, I can hear them. However they can't hear me.
Craig Urik make sure completely unhook the uconnect system.

michael sedergren go into the setting and make sure that any Bluetooth settings are enabled. Some of the apps are hidden until you enable them.

You missed the important information in that upgrade option: 8 - Core RAM:2G, ROM:32G Android 6.0
This is a quad core with 2GB of RAM... The "8- Core RAM:2G, ROM:32G Android 6.0" is an upgrade to a newer processor (good) but a downgrade in OS (less desirable). They will eventually have an updated OS for that PX5 processor...but it's not going to be a simple thing to achieve for most people. However, the 2GB of RAM on the quad core PX3 (the default for this model) is plenty fast enough and the Nougat Android OS gives you some more options if you like to tinker or want to run newer apps.
OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps I sure did miss that os downgrade part. They should just update it. I have joying radio now and they really good with updates. I guess I will wait for the Android 7 or 8 with 2gb with 32gb
Nobody has android 7 for the PX5 processor yet (the 8-core). 16gb v 32gb isn't really that big of a deal since you can add an SD card or a huge USB hard drive if you want! lol

I'm having trouble mirroring my phone! It's saying I need to install MOB interconnection service how do I do that on my radio? When I go in to my settings I go to developer options and put the password 7890 and it takes me to debugging mode but it's asking me for a password to Turn on but I don't know the password

You don't install anything on the head unit. The debugging is enabled on your phone,
Yeah I have it turned on my phone but on my radio it's turn off and it needs a password for me to turn it on

Sorry, but I thought the entire thing was extremely boring. How many ways to you really need to play music??? Seriously. This unit has soooooo many more functions than just playing music. But you spend a ton of time just talking about fifty thousand ways to play music, with only small snippets of other things. Here's a hint. Try writing a script out before shooting the vid, and balance your subject matter. Cheers!

Too sluggish, personally I think it’s a waste of money, it’s way more comfortable just to install spotify in your head unit. I mean most of the countries are offering unlimited data, so sharing wifi is not a problem anymore.

I don't understand the question. This doesn't use android auto... but yeah... you can mirror movies from your android phone... but why when you can play them on the stereo directly.

Hey Michael, I love it. I still have to remove it & see why the mic doesn't work but everything else is great. I can hear the caller but they can't hear me. Mine did come with the SD slot on the side plus a duel USB connector that I have in my glove box. Just remember to go through it and select correct areas, regions & settings so it doesn't keep rebooting. Worth the buy for sure!
