- HARRY SHEARER! Actor, author, musician, director, radio show host ? heck, he even owns his record label. Getting his start (albeit uncredited) in an Abbot and Costello movie in 1953, to voicing Mr. Burns and many other characters on ?The Simpsons?, this man has spent more than half a century entertaining people! You don?t want to miss this one!

Shearer is such an amazing talent. I'm old enough to remember seeing him on the Benny show when it was brand new. I think I hated that kid. He was so incredibly self-assured I didn't believe he was real. Evidently he was.
Another legendary show. Thanks KPCS.
This is brilliant and I wish there were more episodes with Mr. Shearer
I've only just found these videos, are they still getting made? I think they're brilliant.
Remembering, "This is Spinal Tap" from so many years ago.... It was a group effort, but Harry Shearer was really pure gold in that. Plus, Simpsons. The dude is comedy legend.
I have to see his New Orleans documentary.
Kevin keeps saying 'Dicksian.' He means 'Dickensian.'
Thanks for this. I thought I was going mad...
Ricky Rydell - True! I noticed that. He's trying to be as brilliant as the great Harry Shearer but can't do it.
I believe he was using the American jocular . Hee, hoo. )
Stunning.
What a great fucking show! Kevin is a truly wonderful interviewer and Harry Shearer is brilliant!
Jack Winn even though there’s twenty minute of bullshit

"Dicksian".....Dickensian.
Guest at 20:03.
anyone who lives below sea level sits under the sword of damocles
A football field * 1 hr * 50 years = approx. 1,000,000 sq miles lost. Given that Louisiana is only 52,000 sq miles, I'm gonna have to call bullshit.
Harry shearer laugh
Nice on the Hilversum
Mouths can't be akimbo. He said "mouths agape." Only arms can be akimbo.
Harry Shearer! This is going to be great...
My version of the 'go **** yourself' bit at the beginning would have been, "Go **** yourself, and when you get back, go **** yourself again."
I thought this was going to be funny, but it's f◇◇◇ing great!
I like many episodes of the show but I've never understood why he makes guests sit there for anywhere from 5-20 minutes before introducing them? Couldn't he shoot the intro separately without them there?
London is brilliant. True that Harry.
I would like to see The Tonight Show episode from 1977 when Rob Reiner hosted and Billy Crystal and Harry were on. Harry did Tom Snyder and Billy Crystal was Muhammad Ali. Was Albert Brooks on that one too?
Weren't the Flintstones and Jetsons on in Prime Time?
THE RUTLES was a mockumentary long before TAP.
It was actually a popumentary….
I believe it was the trousers.
"Coming to you from Santa Monica, the home of the homeless...."

whoa there's a hank azaria one? I wanna see that.
Time to bring Harry back
Harry brought up this awful TV preacher, "Ernest Aingsley" and he was Gawd awful (pun intended) One weekend, we were bored and started flipping through the channels (early cable) and I spotted old Ernest and said "Stop!, Stop! He's funnier than Carson!" The guy was a parody of himself he was so bad, so corny. We were watching him and roaring with laughter for, must have been an hour. He was a very animated con man preacher.
Best show in the Milky Way
i could write you a larry king. is the contest still on? this is eight years ago!
Harry is brilliant and a great guy
Can't help wondering ~ If Kevin wore a shirt as black as his microphone, would his body just disappear into the background?
He keeps saying "least we forget".
The phrase is "lest we forget".
I hate to sound like an ass, but shit like that bugs me.
'come one kevin'?
Fox did at least once give a note to The Simpsons. In an episode where a Fox News helicopter bears the slogan "Not racist but number one with racists" Fox told the show to never do that again.
Is Kevin saying, "LeAst we forget" deliberately?
1:42:13 Dr. Marvin Monroe!!!
Spinal tap the best
Ain’t gwine whistle Dixian no mo’
1:14:00 when it gets to The Simpsons stuff.
Jesus. Thanks
Can someone tell me at what point in tbis he talks about doing the voice of mr burns?
GHOSTGXZ somewhere between 0:00:00 and 2:24:12. Hope that helps.
@@GHOSTGXZabout 1 hour 16 minutes mark
@@leob4403 haahaa thanks
Harry shows at 20 minutes
Ha. Shearer brought up est. I had a 70 yr old try to correct me by saying, 'E.S.T.' after I'd asked her if she'd ever been involved. Her answer let me know she hadn't.
Wouldn't The Rutles be the first mockumentary? Pseudo-documentary about the Beatles?
Interview @ 20:00
did kevin pollack just tell someone to 'get over themselves'?
Homer's voice was so much better in the beginning.
No it wasn't.
Studeb He is not the man, who does the voice of Homer Simpsons.
+Studeb Dan Castellaneta does Homers voice. Shearer does Mr. Burns, Rev. Lovejoy, Flanders, Skinner and so on.
+insaneirishND Definitely Smithers too.
insaneirishND I know, but I'm sure that my comment was related to what he was talking about.

whut r u sayin
Ask H.S. if he is as hard to work with as many people say.
He probably is. He was on
Stern years ago and mentioned quite freely as part of a response to something Stern asked that he didn't play well with others.
Seems devoted to his wife though, unless she has him on a short leash because of his "fling".
They are confusing looping with ground up animation. Looping involves using existing material (usually from another language i.e. Bakugan) and trying to match up the english dialogue with the foreign lip flap (never). Most animation starts with the audio, and they create the visuals against the "locked" audio. The thing that makes the Simpsons special is "group recording" where they get to act off each other and put on a little radio play. That's why some kiddy stuff is stiff. They assemble from individual takes. Like sausage. Crappy, crappy sausage.
Ah, yes, Kevin Pollak who always wears a hat because he's balding. I saw an interview with him once where he was asked why he's wearing a hat indoors and he got very annoyed.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Intro is too long, you don't need to have 40 seconds, do 5 or 10 at the most.
Holy shit, Shearer was the dick anchorman in Godzilla, with Mathew.
Slam American education then mispronunciation Dickensian again. Geez!
Great show but the hat...really?
It's sponsored . KP mentioned them on another pod when the guest was busting his nards about it.
I like KPCS, but it's almost unwatchable with San Levine. He's not funny at all and just comes across as condescending and annoying.
sleslie23 He's a bit overbearing but his huge knowledge of film often adds something
+sleslie23 hes really funny somtimes, especially in this one
To his credit Samm has developed into a very good interviewer- much better than Pollak.
Not to mention his horrible laugh... HYUK HYUK HYUK
