@@donaloflynn Same with Lee Mack. Some people allude to him being dim, but I think he's quick witted and intelligent. Goofiness doesn't always equate to low intelligence.
When I heard Harry do his voices for Smithers and Burns on Would I Lie to You for the first time (it's different hearing the voices directly from the actual actors without seeing the cartoons talking if you know what I mean!), I was sat here like "Okay I wanna hear that again!" Seems that Lee had the same reaction as me! I googled the cast list for The Simpsons to see how many voices Harry actually did, and throughout his entire career on The Simpsons, he has done 36 different voices!!!
@@TheTradge Totally agree. I only learned recently that Harry does lines for conversations between Smithers & Burns in single takes which blew my mind.
My favorite is in Who Shot Mr Burns part one. There's a whole scene where Smithers, Mr Burns, and Principal Skinner are the only people in it, so it's a whole scene of just Harry Shearer talking to himself.
There is just something so charming about how excited everyone on that stage is to hear him do Mr. Burns. I guess I assumed love for the Simpsons was just an American thing but it looks like it crossed the sea nicely.
Comedian and former Simpsons writer Conan O'Brien has said Mr. Burns was his favorite character to write for. He used to love coming up with weird old-timey things for him to say.
If I met any of the Simpsons cast especially him, frank azaria and Dan castelleneta I wouldn’t know what to do with myself, they’re just the voices of my childhood.😊
Roolay Yillow and Morgan, guys, I am so sorry. Harry Shearer actually looks very handsome in this video and he is a wonderful actor. Roolay Yillow and Morgan, please forgive me for my extreme stupidity.
What gave it away was his descriptions of the impressions. Obama is very bad at doing impressions, so there's no way he could've won against Bill Clinton and Bono. Furthermore, saying that Bono's was too breathy is hard to believe when he was against Bill Clinton, who has assumed a very airy voice.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate how beautiful Harry's speaking voice is? You've got to love that rich depth and impressive range.
He naturally sounds like Skinner, I thought he put on a voice for that.
It's the voice of Mr. Burns assistant.
@@carltonleboss he does do a voice for Skinner. He talks about it with Rob Brydon
Fitting for the bass player in Spinal Tap
@@SimpleChineseUA-cam He has a voice like lukewarm water.
“I did *not* release those hounds”
2:09 It's always encouraging to see a Welshman out-Clinton an American.
Rob really is a very good impressionist. He's typecast as a goofball, but he has serious talent.

madperson876 - He and Hank Azaria are, for me, the two most talented actors on the Simpsons, possibly even in animated television history.
@@TheTradge Totally agree. I only learned recently that Harry does lines for conversations between Smithers & Burns in single takes which blew my mind.
Whenever two or more of his characters have a conversation in one scene, I would basically comment the fact he’s talking to himself.
He's actually done over 100 including minor, one-time characters

It must be hard to do an impression of another mans impression of your own voice doing a fictional character
Check out Rob Brydon doing Mick Jagger doing Micheal Caine on Graham Norton's show. It's on another level.
Reminds me Hugh Laurie doing an American accent doing a fake British accent in House.
Harry Shearer is comedy royalty !
Oh pish posh!
Well, it's quite clear now... Mr. Burns let the dogs out.
Lee: One word gets a round of applause, I cycle round twice and I'm mocked 😂😂😂
This clip is.... Excellent
I mussed have missed this episode, utter gold! "People are always ASKING me to do it..."
I got a kick out of hearing him do Smithers right before Mr. Burns. Had no idea that they were voiced by the same person.

Most of the Western European world is obsessed with American media.
C. Montgomery Burns
hilarious. Mr burns is by far my favourite characters x
Give that man A hound
You’re the first person I’ve seen give a x at the end of your comment. It could catch on. x

A true artist can give a decent performance, no matter the time or place. They're always prepared because of their dedication to their craft.
Shearer doing Bono's impression of Burns was actually Mike Myers doing Dr. Evil.

BEST. LIE. EVER.
Excellent
I searched "wilty harrry shearer" hoping for a Spinal Tap reference
How cool is Harry shearer 👌👌👌
he is looking like mr burns
Protector Drone But how Mr.Burns has short hair and Harry has long hair?
@@BrandonGarbage23Trucks247 Because it's not just the length of one's hair that signifies how similar their appearance is to someone.

Didnt know Obama did a Berns impression.
Just realized that Shearer is pushing 80, in a few years we may loose half the voices for The Simpsons.
Come on man, it’s spelled ‘lose’.
Thank God they have milked the tits off that show
Maybe then Fox will finally let the show die too.
"It was his house" Quite right and he had the Secret Service etc... working for him.
One of the best.

Harry is funny
I did not have sexual relations with those hounds
clinton wasn't even trying
It's Handsome Dan!
Harry actually has a resemblance to Mr Burns
Ive never beed so disappointed to find out it was a lie.
Are they in spaceships?
Didn’t realise bono had Irish accent rob
... Bono is Irish

family guy has been shit since it first aired. at least the simpsons was one of the best shows on TV at one point.
Harry: I judged Barack Obama the best…
David (as though it were a highly original thought) Very wise.
Harry: Yeah, it was his house…
LOL
Who's the excitable cute blonde chick on Lee's team?
I hate the anmoying guy, you'll know who.
BFKC why do you hate him
your dad?
“Release The Hounds...”

Dang -- I thought it was true. Obama seemed more interested in celebrities than running the country.
lol you mean he could actually convince some to show their face at the White House
Yeah that Trump guy never courted celebrity in his life [American Citizen]
I soooo wanted this to be true.
