Have been married for over 40 years, and the wife and I have been dancing regularly since before we got married. Now that we are both retired from work, we dance 2 to 3 nights a week. B&D always get us onto the dance floor. Cowboy Cha-cha to neon moon, 2 step to My Maria and of course Boot Scooting Boogie line dance.
I love this song. It's so much fun! Another line dance song is Alan Jackson "Good Time"

Yea they were some of my childhood favorite bands their songs neon moon, my maria, aint nothing bout you and cant take the honky tonk out of the girl are the ones i listend to on repeat to the point my mp3 player had brook & dunn burnt into the screen of it another band id reccomend alan jackson and big & rich both worth looking into
1990 is when they released it. Actually, there are several line dances. Cotton Eyed Joe is an early line dance, as is the Electric Slide. Boot Scoot Boogie does have a line dance, also, but if I recall correctly, it came after or in coordination with the song, and was choreographed by Bill Rader. I may be mistaken, but maybe not.

Samantha yes it is called line dancing. You are a pretty woman and when you get excited you are not very cute. Brooks and Dunn really put on a great concert. I used to teach country dance lessons. We would teach a couples dance and a line dance every Friday evening during the winter from October to April.

Line dancing is fun it would be a group dance that is generally set steps per the song. I live in Texas and anytime I meet someone from out of state or from another country I give them a Texas Two Stepping lesson. Look up country swing dancing and that's likely what you'd see most in a dance hall.
