I just installed one for my 2021 GTI. Some engine vibration is therr when engaging clutch from a stop, and very little when accelerating at low RPM. However, it's not unbearable in anyway and I can live with it. Clutch engagement feels more precise somehow, and I don't get that annoying lower mount clunk anymore unless I actually mess up a shift and make it jerky. I'm liking it so far. I even accelerated hard in first gear and noticed the front wheels aren't hoppy like before. I'm thoroughly impressed. 👍
Hi, one question... I've watched a lot of these videos and when you guys say "you feel a litlle bit more vibrations in the cabin" what do you mean by that? Louder engine sound in the cabin or inside plastic and parts rattleing?? Thanks
I have this mount and the dogbone to go with it in my MK7 GTI. The only thing I notice is slight vibration below 1K RPM when starting from a roll. Once you get above 1K I don't notice a difference. of course I've been driving with it now for 20K miles, but if the vibration was really bad I'd have removed it.
It's terrible. I took mine out. It offered 0 gains. Just made for cabin vibrations. Even the last tech who drove my car asked if I liked it and offered to remove it for free. It's sitting in a bag if somone wants to try it just pay the shipping! I like the poly insert on my mk4 and mk5....but not this setup. Trans doesn't shift any better.
Uhh. Well then you have something seriously wrong with your transmission mount. No way transmission moves unless the mount was bad to begin with. The bolt is not even bolting into the tranny, it is attached to the subframe.
@@secion8 My mistake. The transmission did not move. The whole dogbone arm shifted towards the front of the vehicle. I was able to stretch it towards the back and was finally able to get the bolt through. Ironically enough, every UA-cam video has this inherent problem.
I stripped one of the bolts hoping that by screwing it in, it would alight everything and pull it in place. Instead it stripped the fucking bolt from the lateral force.
I feel my S3 shake on initial take off now that I didn’t always have. Will the dog bone mount help fix this at all? Or what would be the cause of this happening now that my car is about 5 yrs old now.
Hey Jim. The S3 has pretty good power and after 5 years, I imagine the mounts are probably letting your engine move enough to cause vibration. I've had several cars that this has happened to. This mod will help some but you probably should think about getting new motor mounts or at least getting them looked at. I'm getting ready to throw some BFI stage 1 mounts on my MK7 GTI but I'm going to use this performance pendulum and an 034 insert.
If you haven't done it already do it. I did the whole kit in my Stage I GTI and have had it on for 20K, the vibration isn't that bad and not noticeable over 1K RPM.
@@peterbattle5702 you can do whatever you’re heart desires, don’t take me wrong. But because SUV’s aren’t performance oriented, I personally would keep it as comfortable as possible. With that being said, you know better what suits you and your business…
@@ViceVersace yep right on. I’ll tell ya what though… the mk2 tig rides like shit generally, stiff as hell and has lots of slop in the bushings and mounts. I had the same issue with just the parts shown in the video. I didn't care for the harsh vibrations. I didn't feel much improvement in engine isolation as I did with my mk4 & mk5 by doing the slip in all poly insert. I tried a cts brand like that but it was impossible to get in. I tried this ecs style next and had it taken out. The last tech who drove it offered to take it out for free lol. I might try another company slip in style one again. This didn't help with wheelhop either. I opted for poly from control arm bushings and that cured wheel hop big time! U want a great poly mod do control arm bushings!
@@callumevans9363 I realize this was ages ago...if u didn't already try poly front control arm bushings for wheel hop try that! I have seen people with GTI's and Manual Trans cars install this, is there any benefit for DSG Golf R? Thank You
No one talks about the difference between the actual mount and the inset

Find the specific insert for your subframe’s bushing, best to take a picture of it. But why would you do this to an suv? 🙄
