    I did the BFI stage one on both my GTI’s. MK 7.5 and MK 8. This is a must have mod. Without it, you have a popcorn machine. With the inserts. No more wheel hop. I heard zero noise in the cabin.

    I changed my subframe bushing a couple years ago in a parking lot bejind my job thanks to this video. Loosened the subframe bolt with a 3/8 drive and a pipe

    This is the best vw mod for the price. Really stiffen the chassis and shift feel. I loved it over the stock feel. Got rid of that spongy feeling.

    If you leave one wheel on the ground ie Jack one side of the car up you won’t get the issues this fella encountered. The upper mount will not move at all took me 30 seconds to fit. I do not have ant unwanted vibrations other than in reverse. The improvement is fantastic during driving.

    I should have watched the whole video. I made the same exact mistake as the DAP guy. You have to insert a bolt to hold the top in place before you press it in. I used silicone spray lube. I didn't use a hammer. I drove my car on ramps and pressed it in with a scissor jack. I think that worked MUCH easier than trying to hammer it in. It's a VERY tight fit. BTW the original bolt was a 21mm. The new bolt in my kit was a 22mm.

    • @majstorivan4805
      @majstorivan4805 2 роки тому

      I don't get you. You mean just Push powerflex insert in while the main bolt is screwed in? While the insert is pushed in then unscrew main bolt and then use powerflex washer and plastic sleeve with the original bolt ant tight that in?

    • @ackliph
      @ackliph 2 роки тому

      @@majstorivan4805 Mine was a Torque Solutions brand. And yes. Put in the bolt. Press in the silicone lubed insert with consistent pressure from a jack. Then put in the bolt with plate. So much easier than hammering it in. If you skip the bolt, it will press the top part out and frustrate you!

    • @majstorivan4805
      @majstorivan4805 2 роки тому

      @@ackliph I googled and saw that Torque Solutions have PU type(black) same design as powerflex, and aluminum one. Are you happy with it? I think the best way is to just loosen the bolt a bit but don't remove it until the insert is pushed up completely to avoid separating the original two-piece bushing.

    • @ackliph
      @ackliph 2 роки тому +2

      @@majstorivan4805 I purchased the Street version. I've since sold the car, but it added a little NVH, but my favorite improvement was with the 1st gear starting out. It eliminated the "chugging."

    Did this last year on my MK6 last year. Took about a week or two for it to break in- and vibrations tone down. You have to break it in, think too many people that complain about the vibration dont give it enuff time to die down before taking it out.
    Advice on install: Break the bolt loose and a couple turns. (leave it in the mount). Begin to push the insert in as far as u can. THEN fully remove the bolt and insert the new one. With the mount mostly in the tranny shouldnt move on you.

    • @ibeecarefree
      @ibeecarefree 4 роки тому +1

      Really good info. I was on the verge of taking it out because of the amount of vibration added to the cabin. Reading your comment made me keep it in and try the break in. Thanks.

    Just did mine on ramps, with a jack and board to push it in. Didn't even have the 22mm, so I used a 7/8. Some silicone spray.. I'm sure theres someone wondering out there, yes it is VERY do-able. Wrapped it up in 20 min.

    3 questions:
    1) What kind of lube did you use?
    2) Do you think this could be done on the floor? Ie with just a couple of normal jack stands supporting the car.
    3) Would this help with a MK5 Jetta jerking when accelerating from or to 0?

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop 3 роки тому +3

      Hey Shawn,
      Hope u don't mind me helping with your query,
      1 - a tube of grease should come in the box with the bush
      2 - yes it can be done on the floor. I have made a UA-cam video of installing mine on the garage floor on my MK2 cupra R, using a jack to press the insert into the dogbone bush
      3 - it helps with gear changes mainly less of a jolt when accelerating through the gears, wheel hop on launches is solved by installing 'anti-lift' kits (powerflex do some as well as other brands)
      Hope this helps 👍🏻

    I am considering purchasing an MKIV Golf for daily driving, but really can't decide on which engine to choose. The options are 1.6l (8v, 101HP), 2.0l (8v, 115HP) and maybe the 1.9 TDI (90HP). I've heard the 1.6 gets very similar mpg as the 2.0, and when really demanded the 1.6 gets less economy than the 2.0.
    I'd like to know which would be the best option, considering mainly reliability and low running costs, without minding the car being beaten down aesthetically (not mechanically of course).

    • @AndyTrent90
      @AndyTrent90 6 років тому +1

      BFI's bolt is not torque-to-yield, but leaving the pendulum mount at 75ft lbs will make it rattle loose at some point. Stretch bolts still tighten past 75 ft lbs before stretching, but not by much. Rule of thumb for this application is "Guten Tight"
