This fella is an open conduit for the the pinnacle of groove. This is what Plato was talking about on the back wall of the cave. I don’t think the attendees truly realize how nuanced and brilliant this performance is and that is what makes it so great.
I'm ashamed to admit that I was late in finding this musical genius but I completely agree. He knows how to entertain and how to enjoy himself. He's fantastic!
This song in ‘72(?) changed my life. I learned every song off the album. Thanks to Jerry Jeff I learned about Guy, Gary P, Townes and so many others. Thanks forever, Scamp!
I died last night so I can't hear the music just the lyrics and I need a pair of those glasses to minimize the glare of all those flames. God bless you drive home safely we want to see you next year.
Ry is great and has been so for a very long time. I will never forget his jamming with some of us at Reed College in 1967, when he attended college there for a year. Playing with Ry makes you feel like someone has attached strings to your fingers when you play and is gently guiding you and lifting you up, infusing you with energy, bringing you inside the music. He is a phenomenon. I only wish that before I die I could play music with him just one more time.
Thank you so much for your love and support, It gives me great joy to learn that our hard working is paying off and there’re lots of people out there that actually love what I do. God bless you
Totally Awesome..Ry Cooder got it going on..what a legend with his slider on guitar and voice to bring out the latest of what's going on in his remarkable singing..Love the socks and shoes..r u with me?
Thank you so much for your love and support, It gives me great joy to learn that our hard working is paying off and there’re lots of people out there that actually love what I do. God bless you
I'm born and spent all of my 61 yrs in Croatia, Europe. Cooder became my absolutely the best musician, guitarist, character at my high school period. He has that...something. And his constant need not to be in front. He's The One in music to me. My point of all this: I've been a very good friend with a woman from Dallas, TX. And when we discuss music, she always wonders how she has never heared of Ry Cooder. That was. at first a great surprise to me even more. But, this will probably explain it all: just last week, she said she had a great time at Garret Strait concert in TX. Nashville singers like Garret are her thing. Nuff said.
yeah, people need to expand their musical hozizon's....they settle for CW or what passes for CW these days 'cuz their friends like it. If she (thinks) likes CW take back a few years and turn her on to some Waylon Jennings!
Ry Cooder is the perfect slider guitar specimen that can sit on any stage..What a performance and makes entertainment look easy..musicians on the side are awesome..
Sensational performance by everyone on this stage..r u with me? RY COODER A LEGEND AND THAT SLIDER ON GUITAR IS PROFESSIONALLY DONE..I GOTTA GO AND FINISH UP DANCING..
In 1972 I had a late night gig at a college radio station. Labels would send comp albums and I was on the look out for anything other than the classical pieces I was supposed to play. It was my first chance to behave and do the playlist as instructed. I failed at that chance and got listeners calling from over 100 miles wanting to know who that guy was that I was playing. Somehow his first album just connected. 10 pm to 2 am 5 nights a week, Ry let us all into his view of music. We were all addicted. This went on for about a year. I was lucky. I got on board early. So glad to see people still discovering.
THE GOAT! Ry is one of my favorite guitarist of all time! LOve his melodic sense of timing and articulation. ALso love that he did the Crossroads movie soundtrack with Steve Vai. His slide playing was epic in that movie.
This Guy is my idol since 1979 . What a shock listening the amazing sound of little sister . I'll give a year of my life to meet him . Roger from France
I’ve seen quite a handful of your comments on my posts and I just wanna appreciate those people whose wishes me good and encourages me and my team, I wouldn’t be the man I am today without people like you, God bless you.

Ry is still jamming just as he was 50 years ago!!!!! What an incredible slide player and talented musician. A true "musicologist/preservationist" in every sense of the word. Thank you Ry for sharing these classic songs from another era. Without your passion for sharing classic American (And Cuban) music, many of these tunes would have been forgotten through the years. Also,is that Clifton Chenier on accordion?
God? That’s a stretch. You need to broaden your range. Hundreds like him. That said, he definitely plays a range of genres very well, but even moreso, has a talent for incorporating other’s music, and making it his own. But why dress so fucking stupid?
I love it when delusional people tell me who my god is or is not. Those people need to lighten up and focus on their God and no one else's. Its not like I worship satan like many Christians do....they claim Christianity while living by the Satanic doctrine.
Lawanna Collins Not sure who you’re passing flatus to, but Ry is a capable guitarist in many genres, but as he ages, he looks more and more foolish, and his voice is irritating. He’s good, but he certainly ain’t no god. Fool.
Loved it, he started out a bit shy then he soon got rockin' lol. I've always liked his music & playing style, but never seen him live before. This clip is cool, thanks for posting it.
Tap dancing time..☺Ry Cooder on the move and no let up as of yet..what a phenomenal performance..That slider on guitar has not stopped yet..fantastic..Happy 2021

John, I’m 84 & right there with you! Been a Ry fan since the first time I heard him in 1970 - “One Meat Ball”. His slide work really grabbed me & been a slide fan every since!!
Ry Cooder's yellow socks is what turned Josephine on ..now I got it..What an inspiration to hear a legend on his guitar telling us a story that became a hit..sensational
What a lot of people don’t know is Ry did the soundtracks for motion pictures, he did all the music for Crossroads, including the battle Ralph Macchio did with Steve Vai toward the end if the movie. & other musical scores for 36 other movies. You probably heard them in movies you’ve watched & didn’t even know it. Love me some Ry Cooder!

This man had such an influence on my dad who played in bands when he was younger, one of his old bands, who he still is old friends with made it quite big on the blues scene. I can see where my dad got his playing style from. I just bought him a Ry Cooder chicken skin music t-shirt for his birthday and he turned up today wearing it. My friends used to take the piss out of me for it as a teenager but with the benefit of hindsight I now see he was just way cooler than their dads and I regret horribly not letting him teach me to play guitar. I'd do anything for that now or even just him to play something slow by Clapton and me sing. It's not gonna happen but it's a lovely dream of mine
@@chrisweir2544 I've floated the idea with him a couple of times, he's got reynauds syndrome now so he wouldn't be able to teach me but he could play a little bit I suppose and I could sing. Your dad knows his stuff.

Ry , like Taj, should get that Kennedy medal …..or whatever….finest American gift to the world!
Right on! I would run for President to be able to bestow that on him!
