Hi! I just found your channels a couple of weeks ago and love your content. I never had a Zippo but always thought they were cool so you convinced me to get one. I've got a matte green with small flame and an armour high polish brass so far. I also got a soft flame insert which I really like. I've watched all of your videos and can't wait for more. I'm sad you don't do customs anymore as a Zippo fanatic lighter would be wicked cool to have! All the best from Scotland

It's basically the optimal choice here in the equator. Best feature is the fact that you don't have to refill it when you are not using it. And I assume for most people, a soft yellow flame is the most familiar to them

Great video and insight to these types of inserts but, lol for me I’m old school I guess, I prefer the good old insert and enjoy having to top it up every couple of weeks along with general maintenance and cleaning. Originality was the word I was looking for, zippo ain’t a 100% zippo with an alternative insert. IMHO 😊

@@Zippofanatic77outdoors lol yeah totally get it 😊 and I know they are becoming more popular for sure. It reminds me of the big push to transition from a gas guzzler to an electric car… both as bad as one another but won’t get into that here 🤣. But yeah, each to their own an all that, as I said I do get it 😊
Mate, over the last few months of watching your videos I have learned so much! From the simple things like dating zippo’s, cleaning and re wicking to fixing hinges. I’d love to try the customisation of a zippo but funds don’t allow it at the mo. Best and only customised zippos I’ve done is strip off the coating to the brass finish. Love brass zippos! 😊

@@Zippofanatic77outdoors so, I’ve just been looking online on how to remove very faint laser engraving and the chrome finish from a zippo. Think I mentioned this before. Apparently, normal bleach will remove it if left soaking for a day or two 🤔🤔 well, I’m gonna give it a go and see what happens. I’ll sand it lightly first to scuff it first then soak it for a couple of days to see what happens. I’m not overly convinced this will work but time will tell. What I would like to happen is for the engraving to disappear and leaving a patchy brass/chrome effect. That would be a cool look.
Anyway, I’ll keep ya posted lol

I remember the amazing gift of joy Tman gave me, as he puffed away on a Lucky Stike or Camel un fileted. But just now I want to say to you. I support you and Canada. I enjoyed who you are. I feel like the difference is down to simple gas pressure. The cold lowers the pressure inside the insert due to the equilibrium of liquid butane to gaseous butane being shifted towards liquid in cold temperatures. The soft flame only needs a trickle of gas to light and the blue flame needs quite a bit more (you can hear the difference quite easily since the blue flames have this loud WHOOSH to them while the soft flame is almost inaudible). ; )

I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of years now and recently my friend has been watching your channel and getting big into zippos. He’s never owned one but while walking around downtown the other day he saw me flicking my zippo just to fidget. We went into this big antiques store and went to look at the zippos. I left for about 15 seconds to go look at the oddball comic section of the store and when I came back I saw the employee grabbing out one of the zippos and my friend bought it right on the spot. I told him he could use some of my lighter fluid at home and then I realized he bought lighter fluid too. He was super excited about it and has been wanting a zippo for a long time but only now got one. I haven’t watched a video of yours in a little while but I’m glad to see you’re still making them and honestly my friends enthusiasm over his zippo is making me want to get more into zippo again.
