Owned one for 4 years now. The band is just getting to the point where it needs replacing. The face is also more scratch-resistant than one might think. I work in a factory and have banged mine around, including the face, and still no scratches yet.
Probably my favorite watch I have. Simple, looks great and has survived everywhere I've taken it (Afghanistan and Iraq). Alongside a Casio G-Shock, can't go wrong
I have one of these and would recommend changing the rather stiff and uncomfortable stock strap for a nato. It's a brilliant little field watch for the money
@@maximus3233 lug width is 18mm and citizen still make this model. I wouldn't put a steel bracelet on, what is essentially, a field watch but each to his own.
Sorry but I do like the band. I think it fits the style of the watch very well. I would like it better if the face was a little bit larger. Guess we both need to keep looking. But I think it’s a great value overall and would make a great gift for a kid’s grownup watch.
I bought one of these around 2013, but ended up swapping it for a solar g shock. I bought another recently, and I’m sure the lume is weaker than the watch I had in 2013 🤔 I wonder if they started using cheaper lume, or if I’ve got too used to Seiko lumibrite. The lume has now got me thinking of swapping it for something else… 🤦🏻♂️
Nice video. I like the simplicity, design, and functionality of the watch. I just ordered one from Jomashop but it's on backorder and ships 4-8 weeks if they're able to locate one. Does anyone know if it's still in production or discontinued?
Hi Romeo. Thank you for your comment. Yes, this is a great timepiece and I think you describe it very accurately. I personally love it! It's still listed on the Citizen site but I am not sure they still produce it. Why do you ask?
@@wristdiet Hi, thank you for your reply. I asked because they've been out of stock on several online sites including Amazon. I think I'll wait as Jomashop offers a good price. Best wishes!
On the good side: Light, durable, not bulky, accurate, can go down 50m which is more than enough for most people. On the bad side: Strap is shit (smelly and won't last a week of real heavy use), date feature is useless but who cares
under 100 dollars? I don't think so at my place, this citizen bm8180-03e sells for over 200 dollars, too many positive reviews makes demand go up made me turn to its equivalent competitor, the seiko sne095p2 for value for money reasons
Would you buy this watch? Let me know in the comment section below!
Wrist Diet Yes I want buy one
I’ve own one for 10 years. I did replaced the band with a dark brown leather band.
@@aikirunner Yes that's the way to go! A silicone band is also a good fit!
Just bought one, with a Crown and Buckle Chevron Fifty 19mm. It's now never leaving my wrist.

These are phenomenal watches. I've owned for 14 years. Strap it comes on is not great. Once on a nato 18mm they are ultra comfy.
Exactly! I completely agree with you and I am glad you say you own one for so many years!
I have this watch and just recently ordered a NATO band for it. :) exciting!
@@jax02zerotwo What make and colour?
I don't like the shiny finish but everything else seems great
just ordered this watch Feb. 2023 cant wait to get it next week!! great review.
Any updates on the watch? Thanks!

Can i use Steel Bracelet ? What
It's available on Amazon, does CITIZEN still manufacture this model ?

I'd probably take this watch over a Seiko 5 field watch...and probably even over a Hamilton Khaki field due to the better price.
Good review! Seems like great value for money.
Thank you for the nice words. Indeed this watch is great VFM! Don't forget to subscribe for more videos like that :)

My next purchase for an everyday watch.....
Excellent choice! One of the best solar options out there!

Great video 👍🏼
I've went with an alba AQPJ402 instead 👍. That has a decent bracelet but this has eco drive.

Where does the tag say the watch was made? I know it’s a Japan movement, but the tag with the barcode should said where the watch itself was made.
Unfortunately, I haven't kept the tag!

Yes, the strap is a clear weakness here but I think it's easily replaced. Other than that, it's a great watch.
i ,think it is 100m wr!
@@wristdiet easily replaced with a nato strap. Looks way better
*100m
Yeah but unless you are a freediving champ, who goes down 100m :)
Would the band get small enough for a 6 inch wrist? I am also wondering if this small watch would still look too big on me.
Hi Terry, yes that would suit your 6-inch wrist. This is a small watch, especially in real life, so you will be fine with it!
Watch size will be perfect for you. Also, put a 18mm nato strap on it using the single pass method and this will be your most comfortable watch. 👍

Not just swim but beat the shit out of it in salt water for 14 years and still going
