Great review! I thought Whim was moping around because he knew that this whole adventure would soon come to an end and he would go back to a normal life. Whim has always sought adventure but realizes how truly dangerous it is. I think that's why he also regrets pressing that button.
I think Whim has a chance to become a force wielder, hope we get a season 2

I thought Captain Rennod had been identified as a Weequay based on the snippets of the video and the giant Weequay skull design in the lair. How long do they live? I know Hondo has been around for quite a while but centuries?

Just a quick one but did they actually say it wasn’t until they were 18 they get told the truth? I thought it said when they graduate, we don’t know what age that happens.

Re. The Dawn of the Jedi movie, just a personal worry but I think its a doomed concept as far as fans are concerned. Maybe casual viewers too.
On the one hand its not true you are unconstrained by the lore, sure there is no Skywalker legacy etc. but there is quite a bit of Force lore that canon has established (wellspring of life in the Clone Wars etc.). Theres also a lot of law about how small the mainstream traversible galaxy was even in the High Republic era only a few hundred years ago But I accept thats very niche. More mainstream we were told in Ep.8 (Im not a fan but I cant deny it exists) the first Jedi Temple was that one on Achto and there was even a mural of, supposedly, the first jedi.
More generally going that far back its going to be weird to either have star wars technology unchaged for millenia or to be more faithful to the length of time and have a lack of technology making it feel less Star Wars like.
Again, I know this is an irrelevance as its all set a long time ago in a galaxy far far way but to answer your question, in our real world here on earth 25,000 years ago is the upper paleolithic period. So we are talking about before humanity even really learned to be hunter gatherers and were rudimatary hunters with very rudimentary tools. Maybe limited cave art. But its very much what wed call the Stone Age. By contrast the Old Republic being 4000 years, the real world equivalent would maybe be the mid to late Bronze age, advanced tools and societies and cities and arts and crafts etc. The Pyramid of Gyza had already been there 600 years 4000 years ago. So a world of difference.
Again, I totally get fiction means jt doesnt have to be like our world, but I think people skip over how big the time period is.
I think my main point tho as to why it could be divisive or fans is that ironically by doing dawn of the Jedi, yes you free yourself from a lot of lore but you are writting and creating one of the most significant areas of lore in the whole franchise. So its an area where I think on narrative (but not tone and plot) Filoni would be more than within his rights to have a LOT to say about what can and cant happen to not let the film totally ride over George Lucas' conception of the galaxy, the force, and the Jedi order thats been drip fed elsewhere like in the Clone Wars.

Jod may use Jedi lines but it’s odd he has only ever used the force on metal objects and didn’t use it to move the meat roast lever. And he won’t use it to save himself from the pirates…

I dunno, maybe people had guessed back in Ep3 or 4 or whatever it was, but I can remember debate about what the big ruined stations in orbit around At Achron were. Now we know. :)
EDIT: Actually, y'know, given that At Achron's barrier had failed, that planet is a bit of a loose end. People can find it and just go there and land. Whatever made At Achron a jewel world maybe wasn't also a mint? Something else? It must have been something else or the legends of that ruined world would have been galaxy wide. Further, anybody who could manage to gain enough power on At Achron to sort of respresent some kind of authority to the Old Republic would have had more than enough money to fix whatever problems the world was enduring, many times over.

I am alone on this, but I love redemption. If I want to see evil, I just look at real life. I am glad Kylo turned good. I am not sure they should of made him evil in the beginning. I am feeling now, it makes Luke's effort in the original trilogy undone. Maybe that was the true issue. Who knows, it is what it is.

Something is telling me that Tak Rennod is the supervisor and get this theory that Neel is related to him and we never hear his father Neel maybe kinda be royalty there and the supervisor maybe watching and putting together a rescue with a real republic emissary to save the children and arrest Jod ( perhaps the Mandolorian)

It's possible but on reflection I think there is room to doubt either way whether At Attin is in contact with the New Republic.
On the one hand the parents knew and understood what a Republic Emissary was, but on the other hand the landing platform seemed to be covered in grass and the people didn't know it was there or going to be used.
I think there's plenty of signs that they've set up a story where At Attin just kept working as a mint after the Old Republic fell and no one kept in contact.
We will find out next week!

My single biggest hope for the Skeleton Crew finale... please provide the back story to Jod.
Even if it's just a verbal explanation of what his connection to the Jedi and the force was, no need to be a flashback, I think that would elevate the show because it would be the first time they've not relied on endless 'mystery boxes' to keep fans on edge in a long time and would be a real strength of the series as a whole.

The way I see Jod being redeemed would be to save the kids from the supervisor/security droids. This would be in an effort to escape with the treasure.

I'm on Kevin's side. It doesn't click on me. This show is too child oriented for me to love. But it's not bad, with forced (no pun intended) story arcs to stretch out the plot like in Obi-Wan or The Book of Boba Fett. They know what they're doing: Treasure Island meets The Goonies in SW. Also, visually is much better than previous shows. I hope it ends with a high note. Having kids as the main cast and the current development/production schedules, it is very unlikely that many more seasons will be made...unless they go into Stranger Things territory. We'll see.
