Damit Man U always get me when u get a little emotional thinking about ur dad. I know it’s been years now but it’s amazing how certain things can make it so fresh and raw. I lost my little sister a decade ago and only people who lost someone knows the feeling. Appreciate ur rawness.
The irony is that if he would have just kept his promise and brought them back safe, Jod could have had a shipment of credits and possibly come back as many times as he wanted.
Rocha senior is lucky to have a son like John. You sir, embody a compassionate soul... one that offer reassurances for aspiring fathers to sons. Your dad raised a good kid, as the Penguin would put it.
I've enjoyed the entire series immensely, but for me, #5-7 have been absolute bangers. If they can even have just a 'good' final episode, this will go down as a great series, imo.
So, one would think that the value of these Old Republic credits is because they are so rare in the current time, the sudden appearance of LOTS of them could cause their value to plummet. Supply and demand. The best way to manage that is to take as many as Jod can, and then just use them reasonably sparingly over time...like maybe no more than 50 per day. They would mostly hold their value (it could decline over 40 years of using them constantly) but not freefall the way they could if he just spends tens of thousands of them every year.
The people of At Attin missed about 100 years of history, they don't know about order 66 or the empire, they probably will assume Jod is a Jedi and he will just go with it to play for time. All in all a good penultimate episode. Really sets up the finale well!
The "weak, sheltered, spoiled children" line was potentially illuminating, though, depending on what John Watts was thinking when he wrote it. That's about the resentment the weak and unprivileged have for the strong. That doesn't make anything Jod is doing nice or fair, but it does make it understandable.
I am /totally/ ok with Jod actually being the real big bad that the kids have to overcome. I think the more SW, even cliche thing to do is for Jod to find his 'conscience' and do a face turn, but I think this is better and more interesting?
16:34 Jod-Na Nawood is definitely a problematic inconvenience of the authorities on At-Attin, but he's not a threat. He's completely helpless. His sidearm, sword, and rudimentary ability with the Force don't make him a threat.
Until the end of the series John Rocha will settle down on the name Jude Na, I believe... 😅 Love you, John! 😉 Great episode, but they should have released the 2 episodes. The cut felt incomplete to me. Ps. Hector Navarro realized the Supervisor is credited as : (drums) .... STEPHEN FRY !!!
This one really felt like an Amblin movie with how serious and dark it got with Jod’s heel turn; movies like E.T and Goonies went there with those kids and glad this show went the same direction. I am really hoping they don’t redeem him and just keep him the antagonist. 😅
I think there are some similarities to Jod turning full heel and Anakin. Fern tells Jod that he can’t hurt them, because they are kids. But, Jod draws his lightsaber on them. I think that he would hurt them. When Anakin turns to the dark side: he hurts/kills children with his lightsaber.
Although in that scene with the lightsaber, he threatened their parents not them. And I don't think he actually would've slit Fern's throat in episode 5. He knew a defenceless child would *_have_* to yield.
Cross posted from another channel: You're Jod-Na Nawood....just go with it for a minute. *You're Jod, you stowed away on the Onyx Cinder, intimidated the kids and bullshat the gullible droids all the way down into the bowels of At Attin where you are at the end of the episode. *You're deeply and literally underground inside of what looks basically like a fortress. *You have no means to contact your pirate "friends" and even if you could, they can't cross the barrier. And even THEY could, what's 100 pirates going to do vs. the security forces of an entire city or even planet? *You are absolutely alone, everyone near who also knows you, hates you and is interested in your arrest or death, the only thing that keeps them from arranging that is fear. The droid security forces might be gullible, but there's a limit to their gullibility; there absolutely MUST be. You've drawn your sword and appear to be threatening citizens of At Attin. How long does At Attin's sec forces continue to believe you're a Republic emissary, especially after you took a shower in credits and laughed like a lunatic? *IF somehow, you manage (I have no idea, within the bounds of any sort of actual suspension of disbelief) to convince the At Attin sec forces to let you leave the planet in the Onyx Cinder AND, they let you go with a bunch of credits, then what? How many credits? Enough to give all your pirate "friends" something that feels to them like a pay-out that's "worthy?" Oh sure, they all now believe all the truths you might tell them about the literally unimaginable wealth are in the 1139 vaults each one of which probably has 1000x the money of the Aldhani vault that our heroes in Andor raided. So what? They can't do a single thing about it, and if they hang around more than a day or two, they're going to have a VERY unfriendlly New Republic fleet right up their backsides. Within the bounds of decent storytelling, I don't see how Jod survives this. He's totally screwed. He's going to die on At Attin. The pirates will get nothing for their troubles (I ain't cryin') and that will be that.
I don’t care what anyone says. The relationships that they were able to write and draft in that writers room is something like I’ve never felt before. Amazing. Sad to see this end after EVEYTHING we’ve been through but I am also very excited to see how this all wraps up. I cried.
John, me and you don't agree on a lot but it's a great time when we do. I've been enjoying your reactions and feelings towards the Skeleton Crew and it's been a blast. Keep up the great work brother! Sad to see the series will be over soon. Can't wait to binge it from start to finish in one afternoon or evening though, that will be a treat!
Jod is totally a scumbag but I think the only irredeemable thing he could do would be to kill one of the kids, which he has had ample opportunity to do and hasn't. That said, I do hope he faces some consequences for what he HAS done.
Jude Law definitely plays utter, utter piece of crap very well. I can't help thinking that a certain pirate took this whole place over a long time ago...
She was already the captain of the ship, in some way 33 prob always saw it that way despite her rescinding it. She was his pirate captain. Always loyal. These last 2 eps have lost me a little they have thrown explanations out to window to quite a bit. Whats the point of showing the acid pit and all the peoole who sounded like they died if no one died? No explain. Take 4 minutes of screen time maybe 2. And this week was also a but sjort could have elsborated lm a few more things. Its leaving things a tad empty. We are so use to everything MCU/DC and SW being such trash we are praising something thats ok to pretty good but not amazing. Love the show its just getting a little lose. BD Howards surprisingly my least favorite by a lot.
13:19 Jude Law deserves Emmy consideration

When I saw Jod cry when he saw that money I was like, my God this dude is deranged and evil 😂
Loved it. Can't wait for next week.

I totally Loved it🥰 Wonderful episode

John nice Job My Daughter will love this your a good man I felt it when you mentioned your dad.I miss mine also feel you brother.
I would love a season 2 with these kids.
Oh, I totally said the same thing to myself, too, Rocha. To see a blue lightsaber being used to threaten children? Oof, burned me up.

Stephen Fry was the voice of the supervisor.
Yep and he was NOT the voice of Rennod.
If we get a Yoda/Dooku-esque fight in the final between Jod and Kh'ymm I’m gonna squeal! You KNOW she’s out there!! Great episode!!
16:34 Jod-Na Nawood is definitely a problematic inconvenience of the authorities on At-Attin, but he's not a threat. He's completely helpless. His sidearm, sword, and rudimentary ability with the Force don't make him a threat.
So exciting!

Well in the end - he got what he wanted - he “Bought the farm.”

@@Tyler_Pifer92 I'm not sure I'd want to test that.
Guess Fren is no longer under security? She doesn’t seem to be able order the droids to shut down anymore.
If the vaults are hidden deep underground does that mean the other planets might still have vaults full of credits?
I think this is the only Mint. They probably all had their own individual purposes.
I think it’s the critter briefly showed earlier.
Predict the finale title will be a quote from the Supervisor...
A "Tree Sucker" is likely the creature seen on the tree in the opening moments of the episode,,,
I was in a dark room and I didn’t see it either.

It’s hard seeing a blue lightsaber being used in that way …. AGAIN!
ALIENS reference by having Jod sneak onto the ship (off-screen) as it's taking off?

If Jod has the force how is he not a sith?...how has the dark side not consumed him??
Same reason the dark side didn’t consume Baylon Skoll.
Jod! U a-hole!!!
I think he and his crew will wind up in a new republic jail. Just like the Fratellis in the goonies. How long they hold them? Who knows.
Jude Law definitely plays utter, utter piece of crap very well. I can't help thinking that a certain pirate took this whole place over a long time ago...
