    If Jod had gone full evil, he would have crushed the rodent from 33’s eye socket after he cut off 33’s head. But he gently moved it out of his way. There’s a method to the tactic he’s taking and I think he’s trying to protect the kids, despite his desire for the treasure.

  • @Neskaausart
    @Neskaausart 13 годин тому +26

    Jod and the kids crossed paths for a reason. Jod and Wim in particular. Jod will likely have a split second epiphany, Vader throwing the emperor down a shaft moment. It's the only way they can do it now that he has let greed and darkness and envy consume him - if he does have redemption. Jod's helmet was cracked open by SM 33 as Vader's was cracked by Kenobi. Jod is like Kylo Ren who needs his helmet to play his role. This is why he puts it back on to become Silvo for real. He's not a liar as some say. He's an actor, a trauma induced actor, his method is trauma. If you pay attention to Jod's facial expressions and intensity they really have not changed much. He still is not serious facing death like when he says to Brutus he can just send another pilot into the gas giant. He's a big kid who goes from opportunistic moment to the next. He is trying hard to convince himself to not let his guard down because the kids have gotten into his head. He knows the difference between right and wrong. They are messing with his acting. He directed the words to himself more than to them. He constantly has to remind himself to be anything but weak to survive but the kids have messed it all up. his survival strategy has been put into question. He has a chance to almost go back in time and recover who he once was. His orator skills are interesting. He learned to do that somewhere and patched it up with opportunism. I do think he will have that split second Vader redemption and it means he will probably have to sacrifice himself.

  • @NateJackSam
    @NateJackSam 7 годин тому +6

    I think Jod’s epiphany will come when they meet the Supervisor, he’ll see that they’re all still trapped or he’ll recognize Palpatine or the Empire’s hand in setting up At-Arron, and that will bring him back to wanting to help the kids, and fulfill his original mission - to be a Jedi.
    OR - Wim will actually stop Jod. He’ll experience using the Force for the first time (like yelling “STOP!” and is able to freeze Jod in place) and Wim is the one that brings Jod back to the Light.

    Most of the stories that we've seen about survivors of Order 66 or immediate next generation, particularly ones that were quite young shows them being on the light side or headed there through a redemption arc. In Jod we're seeing someone that is at the least very dark grey, with questionable morals and motivations, he's at that crossroads and he could go either way.

That's not how it works..." moment when Fern reclaims the ship and Jod gets sucker punched by SM33. It doesn't work to go from sinister to smuck back to sinister... I think the roguish Jod who has been pleading to get back on top is the main character we have been seeing, always one second between life and death, who may realize that when he has been with the kids, it was possibly a better life than he had ever imagined with the pirates. At least with them he had some peace.... and acceptance.

    I think your right but also you missed one more crucial character trait. When he was talking to the pirates he knew their desires and hopes and he reminded Brutus that the pirates loved Jod and not him. Also we saw how quickly everyone transitioned to addressing Jod as Captain Silvo, after the death of Brutus. It is like he is trying to get the riches not only for himself, but for the family he created after his own family and the Jedi abandoned him and the other younglings, after order 66.
    I think the supervisor is going to be someone from the Empire who operates the mint and planet via long distance communications. The planet is completely automated. And the supervisor may be Thrawn or his subordinate. The turning point for Jod will come when he is offered the opportunity to be the New Supervisor by the Empire. He will have a change of heart and try to overthrow the droids and restore the planet to the New Republic and take his share of the treasure for his services, for himself and his crew.
    Jod will restore his relationship with the children while maintaining his allegiance to the pirate code. SM-33 will be repaired and stay aboard the Onyx Cinder and Jod will take his loot and the ship and offer the kids a chance at adventure with him in space and they can return home anytime they want. The show will end with the kids choosing to stay at home. Very similar to ending of Treasure Island where in the end, the pirates are marooned on the island while Jim gets to return home with his share of the treasure. As for Long John Silver, he takes a portion of the treasure and escapes, never to be seen again. We will see Jod escape and the kids stay on the planet but free from the empires control. The New Republic will be in charge via Kh'ymm the owl-like alien who KB contacts.

    I suspect Rennod is Neel's father. We saw a golden statue of Neel's species in Captain Rennod's room. It is always his mother showing up with other parents. When Captain Rennod arrived at At Attin, he left behind his life as a pirate, started a family, and possibly became the supervisor. This is a great theory. Because of Order 66 he could have come to resent the Jedi for not protecting him, although it wasn't really their fault. If he was a kid at the time, a trauma like that at a young age could have easily twisted his perception of reality, leading to him blaming the wrong group of people for his suffering. After the Order fell, he had no family or home to return to so he was forced to find another way to survive. Honestly I think they should greenlight a tie-in novel about his origin story because if it's anything along these lines it could be really interesting

    Keep in mind, he spared Snowball and didn’t squash him when he had the chance. I think his anger comes from fear, as well anger towards the way Fern treated him, and jealousy because they come from an idyllic home world with loving families w/o seeming to appreciate it. Wim in particular wanted to leave home and go on an adventure, that might be why Jod singled him out. But I also think he is angry because the pirates betrayed him multiple times as well as 33, and he became hardened because he learned never to trust anyone. However, even though I don’t think he actually plans on hurting the kids or their families, I think he’s going to do a lot of posturing to make the kids think he will so that he can continue to to act like the emissary to rob the vault.

    The First Order may have plundered Attin and its riches in the past, which is an explanation for how the First Order paid for much of its army.
    With the fall of the Empire, some fanatical and loyal servants decided to store some of the Empire's greatest military secrets in the Unknown Regions. The First Order began a massive militarization effort to produce and create an army technologically superior to that of the Empire before it.
    The First Order was a military junta inspired by the old Galactic Empire.
    Headed by Supreme Leader Snoke, he and his right-hand man, Kylo Ren, would oversee the colonization of the Unknown Regions and the destruction of the last Jedi.
    The legacy of the Empire survived in the Unknown Regions as in At Attin.
    The idea is the return of the Empire and all the Gold from At_Attin finances this return of the Empire after the fall of the New Republic and this Gold also finances Starkiller Base, which is a project on a larger scale than the Death Star.
    Yes, what you are reading is absolutely a Great Project for the return of the Empire.____

    If Jod was going to kill any of them, he would've killed Fern when he was almost begging her to yield captaincy of the ship. At that point he had no further use for them so can't claim that was a reason for not killing them.
    I think you are right that he is jealous of the fact they've so far lived life of luxury in comparsion to what he most likely had. As others have said I reckon we'll have a 'Vader moment' where he sees something playing out similar to a bad memory from his past and will intervene saving the kids. I suspect something involving the Supervisor and its fellow droid guards and we'll get to find out what happened to Wym's mother. If we''re looking at a Goonies ending, it'll end with the families taking charge, with them giving one of the vaults for Jod and Pirate crew to plunder. Just a shame Glerb will never get to make the glow weeed farm he wanted to have.

    and perhaps was fed bits jedi philosophy from him. He may have witnessed their deaths when Vader or some inquisitor tracked and killed them. That seems more satisfying and would explain why he was able to touch the force but maybe not enough to also attend the academy with his sibling(maybe a sister). The no attachment comment makes me think he was orphaned so.

    Meg, I don’t know if you are right about this, but I sure hope so because in my opinion this theory about episode is the most insightful commentary of any influencer or UA-camr that I have seen. Well done… thoughtful, and well explained in every way. In my opinion this is the most insightful video you have ever created!

    I feel after episode 3, how he said he's lost and alone, that was how he felt after Order 66. I think he was a youngling that had just begun his training. He has some very basic understanding.
    In Star Wars lore, moving small objects is a basic ability that many young force users are capable of. It just takes practice to get better. Which Jod does say, "Lots of practice."

    Spot on! Maybe he was wearing the helmet during the parents' message so we couldn't see what was going on inside. I think it would be cooler if, in his backstory, he chose to escape the Jedi Academy and blames himself for ruining his own life, but it works just as well if Order 66 is what made him leave. Great video!

    I like to think that Jod is not a youngling killer. It is a good surprise to see his cruelty, but he never has harmed the kids. More backstory on Jod would be nice. I do like that his character is filled in by the other characters who have known him. I kind of story by second hand reporting.

    Great video, i like seeing the effects of his past shown through his actions and reactions. If they dial it in a little more in the end episode they may not even need to have an actual flash back. A subtle hint and a little mystery around the specifics of his past would keep him an interesting character.

    I think that once ago Tak Rennod found ship abandoned on one of the other planets (because SM-33 claims that they visited every known planets with coordinates of At Attin), then he came to At Attin's inactive mint asuming (like Silvo) persona of Republic's Emissary, he killed original Supervisor and reprogrammed system that orders droids to start producing credits.
    During one of his travels to pick up credits, his crew attacked him and caused ship to crash. He barely alive survived and was found by droids, who according to program were meant to protect Emissary at all cost.
    So they hooked up his body to supercomputer governing planet, merging his body with mint iteself. Greed of Rennod caused system to heywire and production of credits was faster.
    So what we hear is indeed not Tak Rennod but Supercomputer governing planet and Rennod is part of that supercomputer, being infused withing components. In finale Silvo, parents and kids will go to Supervisor tower to communicate with pirates and shut down satelites, but they will find out that entire planet is dangered by constant mining and it is on verge of destruction.
    Now story can go in two ways: either reprogramming computer will be impossible and someone needs to be hooked up to it to change objectives of entire operation and that paerson will be KB, but that will erase her entire memory and personality, leaving her empty husk like Lobot or Silvo will redeem himself and hook up with planet Supercomputer to stop mining, but that will kill his body.

    I think he has to be one of the younglings during order 66. In an earlier episode with the kids saying “leave no man behind” he says “that’s not something the Jedi say.” Meaning he was left behind. He’s probably been on his own parentless since order 66.

    I doubt Jod has any force sensitivity. When he approached the dataries in the vault in episode 7, it very much looked like a bunch of the other dataries were simply attracted by his hand picking up that one datarie, thus causing the "waterfall". I'm 99% positive all he has is an advanced cybernetic magnetic hand, capable of controlling metal objects, hence the glove

    This Ninaa character is either a sister or possibly a wife. So he probably has some history with Jedi training. He probably felt abandon by the Republic after the clone wars. Nobody came to find him, and people saw Jedi as traitors.
    It can also be that he sees his mother in a flashback, but I hope we get to see Jedi Ninaa Nawood in the next episode

    My prediction: Neal's father is the pirate captain of the Onyx Cinder! He'll load up the money and other families onto his ship, give some money to Jod and then they can all rebuild their lives elsewhere. They're all fugitives on At Attin now so none of them should stay.

    Very good thoughts, Meg. 👍 Jod may have have truly turned bad or downright ugly, but the show cannot allow him to hurt any of them on the bridge. Unless (warning: crazy, not-gonna-happen theory alert) he and the kids had a secret agreement off-screen beforehand and he's just acting, redemption is off the table in my mind. He was either a Jedi youngling for a short time, or a child of a Jedi slain through order 66 who was orphaned at an early age. At best he can make better choices starting in the finale. Secondary thought: hoping to find out in 8 why the "Sanctum" was "Fallen" on At Achrann. That must be an very significant matter related to this whole story- two mere warring factions didn't cause it.

  • @robertmcmath910
    @robertmcmath910 6 годин тому

    Jod's perception is based upon his realization that the Jedi culled younglings from "poor" worlds. Those Jedi who "got out" were one's who knew who they were as part of a lineage (i.e. royalty, governors, high brows)...look at Count Dooku, was a Jedi, but knew he was from a lineage of titled rulers (i.e. "Count") then "quit" to rule his planet while secretly doing Sith things; though Darth Sideous (Emperor Palpatine) was not Jedi, he clearly was on the Naboo Senatorial Track and lived a life of privilege. Jod escaped Order-66 somehow and "grew up" as a scullery mate or deck hand, keeping one eye over his shoulder and the other looking ahead, while keeping a hand on a sidearm.
