    my opinion, dont listen to anyone online, everyone everywhere said i couldn't do what i did with a 18 gallon tank. Well guess what, I did and successfully. Try it, if you have the money to waste if you fail then try it, anything is possible.

    I have the Biocube 32. I ended up removing the hood, buying a Kessil A360x for lighting. I also took the stock media basket out and inserted a intank media basket and a refugium basket for Chaeto. Growing LPS with no problems right now. Will be testing my par soon and maybe adding some blades and tweaking the flow to get some SPS in there.

    The tanks are fine as long as you understand what you are getting. Too many people think its plug and play. No saltwater tank is plug and play, none. The lights are waayyy to white and cause the photosynthetic uglies to go wild until everything balances out. Key is to have a good cleanup crew ready to deploy before its needed. Not after the uglies arrive. You can combat the gas exchange by running an air pump putting the line into the filter box. Get them going with some softies and a pair of clowns. Later down the road pop the hood off and upgrade the lighting or make this into their quarantine tank and upgrade to a bigger display tank.

      take the hood off and turn it into a rimless style tank? isnt there a risk of some stock in the tank going airborne out of the aquarium?

    I’ve got a biocube 32 and it’s been very successful and wasn’t at all hard to get going. The problem with most people is they buy a biocube and they expect a redsea max. Your gonna get what you pay for and if you just need something small due to your space I think they work perfectly fine

    I had it the Biocube 29 HQI which had no lid it had glass top with UV protection and was lit by 150 watt Metal Halide love the tank it had 4 vent holes in each corner. I had so much success with that tank it also had a square clear cutout on the back for there coralife 2 bulb refuigium worked great 👍🏻. the company Intank media Basket was a must for those tanks.

    Exactly my experience with the biocube. Temp issues, excess white spectrum leading to algae issues. Weak blues, dont do justice to the coral. Once I remove the lid, added a cheap nicrew 100w light from amazon, plus diy mesh lid, all problems solved! For reasonable price

    Thank you for the infromation. And i rather have the blue tinted lights for the corals, because they look better for salt water. God bless you and your whole family and freinds...🙏❤🙏❤🙏🙂😀😊

    Setting up a Biocube but I’m upgrading filtration and lighting. Adding strip lights to the stock lights. Doing the aftermarket filtration and refugium section. ATO. See what happens

    I picked up 21 LED 10”BLUE REEF BARS. Add the needed blue leds and fit well with the existing hood

    That tank is a challenge for sure. I’d say it’s a decent effort simply not to be overrun with hair algae. Personally I would lose the hawkfish for a peppermint shrimp every time. Maybe get a variety of mushrooms in there. Enjoying your content btw👍

    I modified my BioCube and it works great. Took the lid off, changed the back filtration and added a AI light. It's made a huge difference. My beef with it is that it's just ugly. One day I hope to upgrade.

      icecap has really nice aquariums that seem to be affordable. I'll do a review on them.

    will the lid come off so it can be used as a rimless? does any of the equipment that this tank comes with be used in other tanks?

    • @aquariumservicetech2891
      @aquariumservicetech2891  10 місяців тому +1

      Lid can come off but it wouldn’t look rimless. The return pump possibly could be used in another tank.

    My old roommate had one of these tanks and the light ballast caught on fire and almost killed him and his dog. If the dog didnt wake my roommate up he would be dead. He was sleeping in his bedroom when this happened. And it filled the entire house with black soot and ruined every piece of cloth, a/c duct work, carpet. Then I had to live in a hotel for 40 days and 40 nights (same length as the rain of Noahs flood). Staying 40 nights in a hotel is super expensive. However, I just bought one of these same tanks off offer up, and I have no lid, put a aqua hydra 32 light over it, and changed the filtration setup as well. These tanks do look good, but I would never trust the lid/ light again whatsoever. Im in the cycle phase of my new setup currently.

    Outdated line of tanks ....didn't care for them even back then when they were introduced to the hobby....I'd push anyone into a innovative marine for that budget friendly nano ...these bio cubes can be badass tanks...no doubt but it's always a seasoned hobbyist who has it hooked up to a main system ....I'd really like to see everyone hop on the innovative marine train ...
