    I had success with the cheapest Current USA light over a smaller tank. It grew anacropora, monties, birds nest as well as the usual soft corals and some LPS like Frogspawn. If you look up Susan Nichols on youtube she used 2 of the cheapest Current USA lights over a 20 long which is probably the nicest Nano-Reef I've ever seen (lots of SPS). Maybe they're not as good as AIs over bigger tanks but for small tanks they can be good. I would think they'd be ok for soft coral over the 125 too.

    Man that last tank was gettin real. Think you're on the right track as always. One way I got rid of dinos, thanks to Mack's support group on FB, was dosing silicates to spur diatom growth. Pretty harmless, diatoms can outcompete a lot of different types of algae and if they have silicates they'll bloom.

    Such a nice planted tank. I had a purple plating sponge like yours and it grew like a monti over time... but I dosed with chemiclean to treat cyano and it killed the sponge.

    True old school would be crushed coral for a sandbed with under gravel filters and powerheads.

    Love going to work days with multiply tanks. I was wondering if the seahorses at the shop were purchased and if it was by one of you clients? I so worry about them. This was a very busy and exciting video with lots of things to watch out for in the future. I'm most interested in the one moving that is getting the bigger tank thus giving that tank as an upgrade for their seahorses. And yes get the fake plants out of there Chris, that's got to be twisting you up. Me too. Also it has been a few videos since we have seen your nano tank and the orange monster guy for a feeding. Till the next one. Love and Peace.

    I heard you say you were going to get rid of those palys. How do you do that? When I first started several years ago, I bought some beautiful mushrooms that had some ugly brown palys on the egg crate that the mushrooms were on. The store owner asked me did I want him to get rid of the palys, I told him no. I thought free stuff cool. But come to find out those ugly palys pretty much grow all over the place and I have battled them for the past four years. Scrubbing them off of rocks as much as possible, but they always grow back. That free stuff was a decision that I’ve regretted ever since.

  • @brianredban9393
    @brianredban9393 23 дні тому

    Its really easy to avoid the ugly fase. Im sure you know. Seed the tank with rock from a established tank with no pests. Most importantly seed the tank with various easy to keep corals again from a clean source. They are finding way more microbiome of different strains from and around coral than on live rock. This will pretty much skip the ugly fase or greatly reduced it. Adding water from an established tank also helps.

    Hi. How do you remove mushroom/zoa corals? Like with Xenia or leathers, I can just slice them with a knife. But for zoa/mushroom that is on the rock, seems really tough! You can just break them unlike SPS/LPS corals

    Hello friend, I have been following you for a while and I see that you have a lot of experience in marine aquariums. Could you help me with a problem I have in my tank? At the moment I have problems with vibrosis or Vibrio. Could you help me with some advice so I can recover my tank and win the battle against this bacteria. Thank you for your time and sorry if I bother you. Sorry my english is not very good. Thx

    A single canister of that size for that size of aquarium isnt really enough imo, you need to filtering at least 4 times that of the tank which that 307 iant capable of doing.......

  • @AlexGhostDragonUK

    I would of just added a 2nd cannister filter then can alternate cleaning and get better filtration overall and flow

    Do you need to euthanasiate soft corals? A delicate subject indeed, but people should still exchange information about it. Perhaps one should put these in the freezer? And blend them afterwards with CaOH powder, to make fish food? Are there any angelfish or other animals interested to feed on them?

    How about an 80 gallon tank for a beginner? I just bought one lol. I kept hearing to get the biggest tank you can afford and have space for. I found a good deal on this tank. It's 48x20x20 with a 26 gallon sump. Am I in for a nightmare, maintenance wise?
