Great reaction. This is one of their most popular songs. They have plenty more as good as this, like I Wish I and Kachi Kachi Yama. It's wonderful organised musical chaos with enough energy to power a city.
Great you liked the Song , still listening to this on my Playlist ,despite the Fact it is more than 2 Years old. " I Wish I( MV or Live ) "is so totally different from this one , or Tamashii Live would be the next ones to go. Always happy when Reactors appreciate the hard Work they put in their Songs.
Hey Mark.. Yes quite a song, and quite a group.. Mindset is as you say a masterpiece of a song. They are a very versatile group who have been around for a while. Take a look at Timashi live.. Last time I saw two drum sets on the same stage was the Glitter band in the 70's. You have to see it. Perfect timing, awesome feat live..
If you're checking out Tamashii live, also know that they have a video up where they play the song with toy instruments, might be a fun double reaction/comparison :D Regular live: ua-cam.com/video/Jt7-GGRa3nc/v-deo.html Toy instrument version: ua-cam.com/video/DzoxNWNnFpw/v-deo.html Would also suggest "I wish I" but they have a lot of other good stuff as well :)

Hey, I'm finally glad you got round to it and took these ladies for a .... uhmm... spin..... yeah.. Anyway, you have to be mentally prepared to listen to so many switch ups in a 4-minute song really. You had different expectations I guess, but it's all really about your... (oh dear)... mindset... when listening to a group like this.... Yeah, I think you get the drift. Now, I probably should check on how to pronounce their name before making this comment, but I believe many call them "Ga(h) - Cha - Ric" Spin, with the "ch" pronounced the same way as in the word "choose". Maybe someone more proficient could confirm or correct me (that'd be nice). Anyway, this band has much to offer and I do hope you would check out more of their songs. I think they are really interesting and damn cool, and I hope you would hear them out.
I discovered this band at the same time I found Band-Maid, so they're weirdly linked in my muddled brain. I suggest the MV for "I Wish I" (from the same album as Mindset) or their latest MV "BakuBaku" from a month ago. Cheers
Excellent reaction to a amazing band of extremely talented women. My introduction to then was a live version of Mindset and at the end I thought "WTF did I just listen to?" The solo was pure brilliance. GS is well known for putting a variety of genres into their music writing blender and they somehow make it work. There sound is definitely driven by a heavy bass and it usually includes a lot of slap bass to help bring it to the forefront. The energy of their live shows is off the charts. This song is a good recommendation: *Gacharic Spin 'I wish I (Official Live Video) in 豊洲PIT (Lyrics in English)'*
You can't just call it their best song. Not because other songs are necessary better but jusg because tthey also wildly differ from song to song and somehow it all sounds coherently together. One of my personal favourites is A Lala.
Gacharic Spin, probably one of the most talented and unfortunately also most overlooked mystery bags that Japan has to offer. 😏Trust me, this was at best a slice of the whole cake that these ladies can represent. Sure, combining so many styles at once might be too much for most, but heck, I love it. Check out 'I wish I (Official Live Video) in 豊洲PIT (Lyrics in English)' next and you'll most likely agree with me. 😇🙋🏻♂ _____________________ _"Sometimes we laugh because we're sad or to hide our frustration"_ - from *Gacharic Spin* -「 I Wish I 」 🎶✨
I love this band. I knew what you were in before you started. F Chopper Koga is usually mentioned along with the handful of top bass players in Japan. FUN FACT: DOLL$BOXX is a collaboration between the members of Gacharic Spin and vocalist Fuki. They have promised some 2 man shows together sometime in December 2024. Mindset is a lot of peoples introduction to this band ... but there is much more to discover ;) .
Love your reaction style - straight from the gut and straight to the point!!! I think it's absolutely valid, to compare bands (or use other bands to describe what you hear), as long as you don't reduce the band you're talking about only to that. Don't have to say a lot about GS here, except that there is no other band like them and I love them to death!!! Check out some more stuff of theirs and escpecially a live or 2 to get a better understanding of their energetic madness. Spoiler: You might get to add a genre of 5 more, just sayin' Cheers :)

Saving this for later viewing: I’m up North visiting my aged parents who, while broad-minded, might not be quite ready for the breadth of language that Mark tends to indulge in. I’ve got a great story about guisers visiting the house when I was younger, for context, if you are interested.
@@markabusireactions So, for those not familiar with Scots traditions, before trick-or-treating in Scotland, which is just wee terrorists demanding sugar door-to-door, there was a tradition called “guising”, which involved kids going to houses and putting on a performance to earn the goods. One Hallowe’en, we’d been out to the neighbours and returned, and there were bowls of treats out on the table. Guisers would be invited in out of the cold where they could do their party piece. There was a knock on the door and two boys were there, aged about 10 and 8. They weren’t in costumes, and we didn’t know them, but they were invited in anyway. They looked around, and grinned, but didn’t do anything. My folks looked expectantly at them. The older boy, spotting the game, boldly stepped forward. “I’ve got a joke for ye”, he offered. “Go on…”, my Mum said. “Well there was a wee town, in which there was three pubs, called “The Queen’s Head”, “The Queen’s Arms”, and “The Queen’s Legs”, the boy started. “And there were three friends, Jim, Jock and Boab, just finishing work. They were talking to their boss. What are ye daein’ noo, lads?” said the boss.” I was listening intently, with no idea of the disaster that was about to descend. “Jim said, “It’s pie and a pint night at the Queen’s Head, so I’m off down there…” “Jock said, “I’ll probably just ha’e a quick one in the Queen’s Arms.” “… and they went off. “What about you?”, said the boss to Boab” The lad was gaining in confidence. With a deep breath he proudly capped off his tale. “Aw, I’ll be off in a few minutes” said Boab. “I’m just waitin’ for the Queens Legs to open so I can get a drink!!!” There was stony silence in the hall. The brave lad was, to my folks’ credit, rewarded for his story, then hurried out the door. That day certainly opened my eyes to the diverse possibilities that the performing arts offer.
Gacharic Spin are wildly eclectic. I have a couple of suggestions which, like Mindset, are from their seventh, self-titled album. Magic Umbrella Girl is a mixture of cutesy pop, gnarly shreddy guitar rock and musical theatre. One review compared it to eating cotton candy with habanero seeds hidden in it. There's a fan upload of a pro-shot live concert at Zepp Haneda Tokyo on 2022/01/10, I second the recommendations for I Wish I. Another song with complex, contrasting arrangement, which goes to some unexpected places. There are two official live videos - I suggest the one from TOYOSU PIT with English hard-subbed lyrics.
Mark, you will have plenty to check out for Gacharic Spin but very worth while checking out a sub project of theirs, namely Doll$boxx. This is the Gacharic Spin members minus the vocalist Angie, but with the vocalist from Unlucky Morpheus, FUKI More straight hard rock than GSs varied music but oh so good. They did a now legendary concert in 2018 from which the below tracks are taken. I have tried to get hold of the DVD for this concert but have not managed to achieve this. TOMO-ZO gets to show off her guitar chops more than with GS I would say. The whole band are just on fire DOLL$BOXX - Shout Down / Karakuri Town ua-cam.com/video/EOLZ2gLGwL4/v-deo.html
I like their song Forever 9teen from the same album. The official MV isn't released in their channel but someone else uploaded it. It features their singer Angelina 1/3 on it. It's Pop Punk. :)
Very entertaining reaction - especially the technical comment and then retraction 🤣🤣 What you'll find with this band though, more than say Sokininaru or Asterism, is its generally melody and groove that are put to the forefront rather than showing off the technical ability. So depends what you like really. I prefer the groove and melody though I can appreciate pure technical mastery I don't want to just listen to that too often.
Peak Paramore wasn’t Emo though, they were Pop-Punk and pop-rock…Mindset is a banger. Legit hard to think of much like Gacharic Spin. You should check out their song kachi kachi yama. They have a live version on their channel.
They sure are a genre blender 😄. I think that is one of Gacharic Spin's main stand out points, others being high energy live shows and utilization of multiple vocals (they 4 people in the band that can sing). As for recommendation, I wish I, The Come Up Chapter, Live Every Moment or Sekira Liar if you're up for something older and vocoder doesn't bother you.
