Look at my little sign language teacher. I adore the mother daughter relationship you have. My heart hurts for you mom that you didn't get to experience this special relationship with your mom.

Hi Laura! love the sign language videos.
I introduced my nephew to sign language through the videos you made when Firese was younger. He’s 5.
    Hi Firese! 😁 ❤️

I know you probably hear this all the time. But I just found your page and to see Fireese as an infant until now has me feeling ALL the feelings. I have my first baby right now and I can’t even imagine them getting so big. Anyways I love this channel very much. Thanks for all the work
You and your family have put into it

I appreciate that some companies have an outside source that family members can access confidentially for Mental health and other issues that effect personal and family life. Businesses are improving the way they cover mental health care. Having a course in schools would defiantly help open eye's/mind's and work towards prevention as well as assist others in need. Sometimes we don't realize there are resources/resolutions available. Great Topic!! (Kinda on the same track) When I left Retail Sales to work for an agency, ARC working for Individuals with disabilities, my eyes opened to a world that I was not truly prepared for. It didn't take me long to learn on the job (rewarding). I suggested that interacting with a variety of disabilities should be taught in school so we can all understand and learn as well as prevent those who choose to make fun of those we don't understand and feel uncomfortable interacting with. We are all human. Good Luck with communicating and working with Schools on this much needed subject.

This is a really random comment but my children are interested in scuba diving (age 2 and 5) and your video from 5+ years ago was the only one we could find that was easy to understand for them both. They are so excited to try when they are old enough. Thank you for making it. ♡

My pleasure! I am obsessed with scuba diving and I always wanted Fireese to learn. My son might learn one day but he has high anxiety so I don’t trust him to stay calm under water.
My daughter is now certified. She needs to do some fun dives but hasn’t been able to yet. Hopefully soon! 😊

@@OurBergLife , here's a fact for you. That scuba diving video was the first video I ever watched. Kinda weird that my first video I watched of yours wasn't a sign language video. I think it's a great video. I've always wanted to try scuba diving. It looks fun. I'd love to try it someday. Your travel videos are brilliant. I like your ASL videos ( even though I live in England) I like them because I find them entertaining and informative to watch. Your channel rocks!

unfortunately, thanks to the gerrymandering of school districts in my city, which are blatantly race based, I had to go to a public school that was 5 miles away as opposed to the one 2 blocks from my house. That alone was a big detriment to the mental health of students who would commute to that school. One of the problems was tribalism. Kids who lived around the area would be hostile towards kids who they wrongly assumed came from a more affluent area of the city. "gang" fighting would be a common occurrence. That is just one little thing that would never be addressed or considered a serious issue. No Child Left Behind and Zero Tolerance policies would leave no room for emotional support from teachers or counselors. Now add that to the individual mental health of every kid that age and you get a very stressful High School experience.

I understand totally! And from the perspective of a veteran teacher, my red flags went up all over the place with this topic. In theory, it would be great to have mental health guidance and counseling in the schools. But the problem is that there are so few teachers who would be qualified to teach it. Many teachers are biased in their opinions and attitudes, and once they get to school and get up on their soapboxes, all they do it preach. Not to mention the teachers who need their own counseling. There are also many teachers who are only there for summers and holidays and the paycheck. My biggest problem (I am retired now) with teaching was the federal government. Seriously. Get them out of there, give control back to the states, and hopefully focus the attention back onto the students where it belongs, rather than on money and test scores. Now I'm on my political soapbox... But that's the way it is. Great idea, but too many politics in the way and not enough freedom to focus on the kids.

My school didn’t even have a nurse, she was moving towards 4 differents school, and since mine was like the worst of them she was never there !
So a guidance conselor, not even in dream lol.
And in my familly no way going to see a psycholog would have been possible.
Glad to hear we soon have a new Fireese songs 🥲

The lovely daughter seems to be quite intelligent; however, her symptoms sound like she's on the spectrum. She's extremely high functioning and she's already identifying her personal issues. Girls are so different than boys and yes, she's "on fire" !
    Best wishes !

The system is broken and it will never be fixed because half of the time the parents are more screwed up then the kids.

    • @OurBergLife
      @OurBergLife  2 роки тому +4

I hope it won’t always be broken. Parents are probably screwed up because they didn’t have access to help. We need to start somewhere! 😊
