Some answers to FAQs so far:
    - The latency isn't specified by Alesis, but it seems as low as any other high-end kit we carry. It's excellent.
    - The module does support Bluetooth.
    - The acoustics of the mesh heads and rubber cymbals are as quiet as any other e-drums with mesh heads and rubber cymbals
    - No word from the manufacturer yet on importing Strike Pro samples into BFD. Someone who knows anything about BFD would probably know better than us about this. Will update ASAP.
    - There is a BIG difference between 11:59 AM and 11:59 PM regarding embargo protocol. 💀
    - Thanks to Joel for helping us out when we put him on the spot. Check out his channel @drumdotpizza

That first copper kit is probably the closest thing I’ve ever heard to what just sounds like a mic’s acoustic kit. The stock sounds on this module are probably the only time I’ve ever heard any stock sounds sound as good or better than anything Drumtec live sound editions.

Disclaimer: All comments are directed solely at Alesis. You missed the mark :(. The wood Strike Pro shells should have been retained. The shell finish should have been improved - I suggest translucent red, or an exotic. You should not have eliminated the 3rd crash. The new upgraded module and high hats were much needed. If you add an upgrade option to include a Gibraltar rack, clamps, and snare stand you will own the electronic drum business. I much prefer your products vs. your over priced competitors. Please take these suggestions to heart.

I really enjoy the honesty in the review considering you're in the business of making money. I have an Alesis DM10, which I added the Strike module (and as many cymbal pads as I could) to it. I had seen so many bad reviews about the Strike cymbals that I settled for the DM10 MKII Pro but upgraded the module for better samples. I recently purchased the BFD Drums VST solely because I wanted the Sabian cymbal pack they offered. Coincidentally-- and unknown to me at the time-- BFD and Alesis have the same parent company. It took over a week to get the downloaded software to work and customer service was useless! They kept sending me the same vague directions over and over again. The BFD download process is unbelievably over complicated. So much so, both myself and a rep from Sweetwater who I purchased it from couldn't get it right. I almost hate myself for even thinking this, but I'll probably buy the Strata module to put on the DM10, If it has enough samples to warrant the cost. Although I can slave the Strike module and add more cymbals with both modules. I'll wait on buying the Strata cymbals once I see enough reviews about them, or at least just get the hihat and ride because I play a Power Bell Ride and the DM cymbal has a very small bell that I tend to miss. Unlike what I've read about the Strike cymbals in an Alesis Facebook group, I never have those issues with the DM pads. In recent years I've bought a bunch of Pearl hardware from you guys for my live kit-- due to your prices beating everyone-- so if I do commit to the new module for this I'm sure you'll be the first place I look. Again thanks for the no BS review.

Thank you for this video. I've been waiting for a new release since the Strike Pro SE came out that would hopefully fix all the issues. I love the design of this and the sounds of the Strike pro so hopefully they have a lot of it in this module. I wonder if I can load my own wav samples to this module? I see the SD card slot so hopefully yes. The price is def decent and I'd love to see a comparison between this and the Roland V-Drums TD-27KV Drum Set. They are the same price but I don't want to have to adjust things and have future issues. I've had Roland and Yamaha products and they never had issues so I'm hoping by the summer to have enough reviews on this and people's feedback to know how durable the build is.

Hey guys, great video! I have an Alesis Command. Bought it used 1.5y ago and it already came with the snare's main trigger's wires busted. It's been a struggle. Now and then I have to open it up, take off the glue, re-solder it to the piezo, and glue it all back together. The foam around the piezo is really busted now and when I got in touch with Alesis they said I had to buy a whole new snare pad, which makes no sense. I just need some foam ring replacements.
Anyways, loved the sound on this new one. Just hoped you'd gotten the room sound without the speaker, so we could better check the sound it makes. It's very important to know it when your only chance of playing drums in an apartment is with an e-kit.

So I've had the Alesis Strike pro special edition for about four years now and I have to say I absolutely love this thing, worth every penny. of course I have some issues like everybody talks about with the high hat, I've also had to go through a couple ride cymbals because they definitely have trouble with those as well. that being said, the feel, playability and sound I get from this thing is amazing. I'm looking at this new one and the only upgrade I see is the module and maybe the cymbals, everything else looks to be the same or maybe a downgrade and it's about $1000 more than what I paid for my set. maybe the strike pro is what people should be looking at still and then possibly upgrading to the new module. I know after this video the only thing I want is the new module, I'm still very happy with my strike pro se.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for them to sell the module alone.
They have no plans to do so at all and may not ever do it.
I like the looks of the SE, plus the extra cymbal, but this module and cymbals are much better.
It’s a difficult decision to throw extra money for fewer pieces, but the module and cymbals just may be worth it.
I’m deciding if I should pull the trigger on it myself. Maybe change the wraps to a brighter colour and add the expansion pack with two more cymbals and another drum.

Fair point, I think Alesis looks way better, sounds better and besides the triggering issues (that maybe you can twerk some like the ride) you’ll get a full size kit with a modern module and great sounds thats not a big gap to consider.

    • @Ben-ic1ve

@@JesusRiveraPercusion that’s true, decidedly some tweaking could be done. I don’t recall, but u funny think these lads have positional sensing on the snare and ride… but correct me if I’m wrong.
But I’d agree. Better sizes and more pads is a plus. I’d also agree that this module subjectively sounds better. I hope they make their way to music stores soon. Would love to get a chance to try it out. I think 16:13 sums up what has been in the back of my mind for a while
I think for me, I lean towards something with the Roland form factor. If Alesis had this kit as a 3 tom configuration, and a nice kick pad as opposed to a full drum, it would fit my needs a lot better…. But that’s just me

Have you played the new Alesis? If not I don't understand you having such an opinion. I would not even consider the TD27 myself, the module sounds are not even close to as realistic as those of this new Alesis kit, in fact they aren't even as good as the Strike Pro module, IMO.

@@fartpooboxohyeah8611 I goes I should clarify on the personally part of my comment. With almost every drum kit I would be bound to use it with a VST (my personal choice being EZ drummer), so the sounds don’t really take too much of a priority for me, but rather the triggering, feel, and durability. With that being said, I think for a lot of users, this kit would be a great choice. More pads (that are larger than most kits in this price bracket), probably one of the better sounding in module sounds (not in the price bracket, but in all e kits), and a really nice module.

Tried this kit today at guitar center and yeah, I didn’t like it at all. The cymbals felt so stiff and almost hurt your hands when you lay into them and acoustically they were super loud and had an annoying pitch to them(like smacking hard plastic). Also the bass drum was mistriggering badly. For the same price get the Yamaha dtx8 with the tcs silicone pads. The tcs pads are quieter acoustically and you can lay into them way more than mesh heads, the cymbals are softer feeling and have way more give to them and the onboard sounds are way better as well. The big fancy screen is kinda cool I guess but doesn’t make up for the rest of it being meh.

Anything you try to do subtly is when you see its shortcomings . I find the snare sounds and cymbals are the weakest part . Sorry I can’t compare this to a real kit in anyway . If you need a quiet kit at home I guess that would be the only reason to need this over a real kit .

    From a design standpoint:
-I hate red and black color combo, probably the worst color combo ever.
-The chunky plastic part on the bottom of shell is also ugly should be integrated into the inner shell as to make the person see more of a drum shell and less plastic.
-Get rid of rack and use stands to eliminate crosstalk.
-The rack would also look better as a chrome color.
-Bottom of cymbals could also be a brass color or actually brass (cheap cymbal material) instead of black plastic.
-Touch screen should have x-y effect pad just like they added to dj gear and Akai MPC
