Ok, so yesterday we were traveling through Tallahassee and got off the freeway to look for food. We found a What A Burger. So we tried it and found it to be a Very Good Burger!! One person had the Apple Cranberry Salad and loved it. Not to mention that there was a station that had gas for $2.69 a gallon. Total Score!!! You should be getting advertising royalties…😂 Merry Christmas.
😆 I'd be rich if I got royalties! 😆 Glad you liked it and found some inexpensive fuel too! That's a good day! Happy holidays and thanks, as always, for watching.
880 in ANYTHING is too much for me, these days! YIKES! Glad all the pieces and parts of your home are back together for the holidays! Merry Christmas! :)
Should be a great improvement for your truck. You finally got it done, great job! A couple years ago we had an incident where a person with a PT Cruiser drove into our toad (Ford Explorer) while we were driving towing the vehicle. I just felt a little bump but continued driving until a tow truck driver passed me and signaled that he saw the accident and the PT Cruiser was waiting. When I came back I saw the police and the PT cruiser, left front fender totaled. I couldn’t see a scratch on our FORD Explorer must have hit it in the perfect angle. We were lucky. Still wondering how that person didn’t see a Class A towing a Ford Explorer.
We absolutely love watching your channel. Not sure if we will ever get as far as you have with all your travels but some of the travels are definitely on the bucket list. Previous comment was meant for a dog rescue that happened on another channel. So this has been edited! Looking forward to the next episode, it’s a family tradition to watch on Thursday nights

Im curious if on the winch you have one wrap of cable (synthetic rope) on the drum and just enough (a little extra) to reach the smart car? I would think this would be a good way to do it as the winch pulls best on the first wrap on the drum and less cable to get bound up. Great channel and content love to watch y'all.
Love this, it's good to see projects, work, and just standard life. Because of you guys, I looked at Volvos yesterday. I'm a Freightliner guy. I have (2) Columbia & M2. But I'm looking at retirement and 860 sounds good. Saw a 19 and 20 yesterday. Bells and whistles, active cruise, and radar. wow!! Please keep up the videos. FYI - my wife loved all the Alaska stuff. On the bucket list and we're in Seattle.
Great to hear! We usually always travel but we have to get "stuff" done sometimes. Sounds like a great plan and you're on the right path. Glad you enjoy the channel. Thanks for watching. Happy holidays! Hope they are merry and bright. Thank you very much.
I can relate when you said you love to travel, but not staying at motels! I am the same way. When my husband was alive, we made several trips to the East coast and stayed at motels all along the way. BUT, we usually drove hard all day (I didn't like that, it was vacation from work and I wanted to see and experience all the places we were seeing.). Stopping at a motel after a long day of driving, unloading EVERYTHING out of the van and carrying it to our room. Then organize our room so we could get to clothes & hygiene items so we could shower and get to bed. Then my husband always wanted to get an early start in the morning which meant getting up around 5 am, hurry to get ready, carry everything back down to the van, organize and load everything into the van, and he might decide to eat breakfast or hit the road. Then do it all over again. I had always talked of us getting an RV so we could travel with our own bed, not having haul everything in and out of the vehicle, up and down stairs & elevators, etc. But he was against it because of the fuel mileage. I can only imagine how much more relaxing it is to know that you have a comfortable bed to sleep in every night and don't have the stress of hoping to find a motel with vacancy, being able to cook your own meals and know you won't get food poisoning or get bad tasting food, and not worrying where the next rest area or gas station is so you can use a bathroom. The RV would save a ton of stress, exhaustion, frazzled nerves, money on restaurants, motels, and parking (yes, some motels charge for parking). I'm still wishing my house was worth enough so I could sell it, get a good used Class C, and be able to do a little travel before my time on earth is done. Until then, I am living vicariously through your travels and experiences. My favorite are the trips to and from Alaska and all the time you were there! Thank you so much for sharing! May God continue to Bless and Protect you all as you continue your journeys. P.S. Yes, Yuma does have beautiful sunsets! Sunrises on a partially cloudy day are also spectacular. But, anyone that knows Yuma, knows we do not have many cloudy days!
Thank you for sharing and we're excited to have you along on the journey. 😊 We love RV travel because we're always home. More to come in 2024, see you next week.

What a great video. I'll bet you're glad Jack built that extra heavy duty hitch for the Smart. Sure glad you guys weren't hurt. Merry Christmas to both of you.

Merry Christmas to you both of you and your family. I’m exhausted just watching this video, I can’t imagine how you all felt. I am imagining all those miles in the smart car and my butt, back, legs , head and lots more hurts. The older we have gotten the fewer miles we are willing to drive in a day. Sometimes it is about the destination and not the journey … like getting home! I’m glad that both of you had no adverse impact from the crash and the smart car was fine too. Those Batteries sure are heavy from here they looked like 4-D . I have three of the 8-D batteries in my motorhome an yes they are probably around double the weight an probably around double the price.😡😡😡. Luckily I have not had to replace them but one time but it is getting close to that time again. I enjoy your videos. Thanks
Hey Kathy, you're correct in that the size is more like a 4D but they are still heavy. Can't replace with lithium since we need the Amp rating from an AGM to power our 12V requirements.
@@bigtruckbigtravels one of mine is the chassis Battery an the other two are deep Cycle house Batteries. I have a friend that is a manger at a parts store an when I had to replace them around five or six years ago he let me have them for $600.00 each .
Hi, new to your sight. Quick question. Do either one of you have a class A non commercial endorsement or have you ever been asked to show one. Thnx and happy holidays!
Those Warn winches are pretty easily rebuilt for very little cost as compared to buying a new replacement. Just a thought, as you would have a backup with you at all times.
Excellent! I learn so much! I see why you choose the rigs you have and why the upgrades will make things better. This was a great ground up approach for someone looking to get into HDRV. We were two mid-level management types that worked for an electronics manufacturing company. We had been camping for 30 years (from backpacking to tent camping to RVing) and we moved a lot due to transfers so fulltiming was a natural extension for us. We love it.
Bummer that your waste tank didn't fit. But I am sure that you have a plan for a new one. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both. Safe Travels!!
I have a temp solution for our 2024 travels and will get a custom one for the new space. I have a few ideas on the new one too. Not sure if it's possible but we'll see. Happy holidays! Hope they are merry and bright. Thank you very much.
I need a Lithium battery charger for my Dynamax DX3? What charger do you use and do you like it? If you could or had to replace it, is there a favorite brand/model? I saw some wires in the Winch Locker that passed through a sheet metal hole. Video time 30:40. Recommend bushing that hole with rubber or some sort of isolator.
We just use a Victron inverter to charge our lithium batteries in our Class C and Magnum hybrid inverter/charger for our 5th wheel. Thank you for noticing the wires. That will have a grommet.thanks

Yes, we both have one since we're out of Texas. We bypass the scales but obey all rules for trucks.
Hi - happy holidays and happy new year!!!
Happy holidays! And thank you very much.
We live south of Nashville but never go to Memphis! I guess Smart cars are safe!
😆 We didn't stop... kept right on trucking!
The Chili Frito Whataburger is my favorite. Our local Whataburger quite selling them. 😧
I liked the blue cheese burger but it's a limited time item.
I’m a big Whataburger guy also, no other burger place comes close.
Amen to that brother. Thanks
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our house to yours.
Happy new year and Happy holidays! Hope they are merry and bright. Thank you very much.
A Very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Safe & AVENTURA FILLED NEW YEAR. 😊
Happy holidays! Hope they are merry and bright. Thank you very much. 2024 should be fun and adventurous.
Those Warn winches are pretty easily rebuilt for very little cost as compared to buying a new replacement. Just a thought, as you would have a backup with you at all times.
True. Didn't realize that they could be rebuilt. Thanks for the comment.
Excellent! I learn so much! I see why you choose the rigs you have and why the upgrades will make things better. This was a great ground up approach for someone looking to get into HDRV. Just like the packing for Alaska video, the thought processes were on display! Great minds think great things! Merry Christmas and thank you again for sharing. Leaving NC for AZ in the morning! See you on the road!
Lucky you heading to AZ soon. Happy holidays! Hope they are merry and bright. Thank you very much. We'll be in the Q shortly.

Merry Christmas to you and your family, wow what a year it was for you guys. Can't wait to take you to my favourite burger places out here. Take care and all the very best for the new year. Lots of love from all of us. Ps: you absolutely called it on the hot weather here, well over 100 for the past few weeks
Whew! That's hot. Thanks, Brendan. We look forward to that burger visit. We're heading out west after Jan 1st so we'll get some nice weather in Jan (Hopefully!). Love to you guys to and I hope your holiday season is merry and bright with an awesome 2024 ahead of you. Aloha
fried apple pie yummm
Ok, Kristina, that's not fair bringing that up... I'm getting hungry! 😆 🤣 Thanks for your comments.
Very interesting watching your channel. If it’s not too personal, what was your profession before retiring?
We were two mid-level management types that worked for an electronics manufacturing company. We had been camping for 30 years (from backpacking to tent camping to RVing) and we moved a lot due to transfers so fulltiming was a natural extension for us. We love it.
Merry Christmas ,,and many more safe journeys to you both love your video,s
Happy holidays! Hope they are merry and bright. Thank you very much for your time watching the channel. More adventures in 2024.

We feel like it will be a huge game changer! Happy holidays! Hope they are merry and bright. Thank you very much.
My Husband is a working RV Service Manager. He will not allow us to own an RV. So, our old camp trailer will stay with us for life, lol.
LOL...he's knows how the new ones are built! Smart man.
So excited to see a new video. I so look forward too seeing where you’re going. Safe travels and have great Christmas and Happy New Year.

Appreciate your time watching the channel. Happy holidays! Hope they are merry and bright. Thank you very much.
Where do you get your music from? You should put it together in a music vlog. Live it.
I subscribe to Epidemic Sound for all my music. Glad you're enjoying it.
Merry Christmas 😃🌲
Happy holidays! Hope they are merry and bright. Thank you very much.
You could have put both batteries into the Smart car I have used mine for weight.
You're right, after I made two trips it looked like both would have fit...better safe than sorry.
🎉🎉
😎🤙😍
❤❤❤😊❤
🤗☺️😊
Are you planning on installing a different waste tank?
Yes. I think I have a temporary solution worked out while I order a custom one for later in the year. We definitely need the tanks when we boondock.
What happened to the black water tank? Did you have to leave it at that repair shop?
Yes. Working on a temporary work around for our travels in 2024. Stay tuned...
What’s burger ought to pay you for all the advertising you give them👍😊‼️ How often do you have to service all the vehicles like you just did?MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU 2‼️ Have a wonderful time with your family‼️😊👍‼️
Whataburger definitely gets a lot of free advertising on our channel! The truck and Smart are once a year. The Jeep twice and the motorhome twice as well... some years it will be once. Thanks. Happy holidays!
Where can I get that winch boom/arm with the pulleys on it?
That was a custom fab from the bed building company. RVH Lifestyles may be able to help.
hmmmmmmm my truck is a tad longer to carry my jeep cj 5 pretty slick on how they designed the lift. bu tthinking on getting a prevost country coach and a trailer for the jeep/ even thos i just bought the new pete. not sure yet. stay out of calif they do not want any rvs there any longer and the cost of fuel has gone insane
Yep, we're done with California for a few years. Going to stay in the Midwest and east coast. Lots to explore. Prevost slides are the best. Nice rig.
