The viruththam in Kapi is never sung like this among the contemporary musicians, Sanjay you have snatched my heart nearly after half a century when I heard Madurai Mani Iyer the genious at RKM high scool ground, where the programmes used to be arranged Mr Venkatraman of Simpson, where he used to give importance for Nagaswaram, your bhani is similar to the great instrument, as you had undergone traing under a nagawaram vidwan. Please do something to revive this Kalai. Thanks a million.
soulful rich flavoured kapi.Just want to add that what we render in South is more of a Peelu In Hindustani music the Kafithat is akin karaharapriya scale.This is just an observation.Sanjays full throated bhava soaked Kapi is what has been handed by our composers.Peelu is mostly sung in madhyama sruti.

I don't need to praise Sanjay as the whole music word is slave to his singing. He can be compared
with only MADURAI MANI IYER the greatest of great.
But my special appreciation is to Varadarajan, I have been hearing from Chowdiah, Lalgudi, MSG, TN Krishnan but This young guy excels them at this age. What a Kapi I heard while drinking Kumbakonam degree coffee. Now Carnatic music survives coz of these two & excellent Mridangam by Neyveli Venkatesh. This is a unique group.MAY GOD BLESS THEM WITH MANY MORE LAURELS TO COME. Thanks for loading this song that too in my sweet Tamizh.
sivaraman vallur in this mridangam is not neyveli venkatesh. he is thanjavur ramadoss a prime disciple of palghat mani iyer.
Sanjay music is comparable to the legends of the past and young varadu is easily the best violonist at the moment

Delectable, excellent, superb no more words. I have heard many stalwarts singing Kali virutham but they are miles away. On the whole Sanjay is mixer of Sobers, Tendulkar, Lara, Vrat why even Badman. Long live his music.
