I've only been crocheting for a few months. My first love is loom knitting and my second is Tunisian Crochet. It's with the Tunisian that I had decided a few months ago, why not crochet. My lovely Aunt long gone has always wanted me to crochet, I guess that I just wasn't ready. I'm sure that she'll now be smiling from ear to ear! What hook size ?
I like this tutorial. I have been working on making market bags to take with me to put in my stuff I get from the store so I don’t have to use the plastic bags. I also make bags out of the plastic bag

How very kind of you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. It does take 2 skeins of the Rebound yarn. The pattern is not written, but you can't go wrong with any count combination you choose. I most often go by "look" more than anything. I used a 6mm hook, I believe. I'm sure your granddaughters will love them, too.

I don't want to lie, but I can tell you I use the recommended hook size for any given yarn to make these bags. I hope you enjoy your creations!
Is this best made with fine or medium thread? I can't find the Rebound where I live.
Either will work, but the samples in the video are made with a 4/Medium weight yarn. Enjoy!

I'm only guesstimating, but they usually use a 100g skein of worsted cotton. It would be less than 300 yards. I hope that helps. Thank you for watching!
Hi I have seen a few of these and dont see instructions to close up at the sides I have never seen a bag like this whatever I put in will fall is it supposed to be opened at side ? . Did I do it wrong confused. Explain
Hi Diana. The mesh portion of the bag is very stretchy. The single crocheted border is worked as a single piece around the sides and making the straps. The border is very dense and firm. The difference between the two stitches makes the mesh sides draw tightly together, thus eliminating the need for any closure on the sides. For instance, the sides may measure 40" before the border, but after the border, may likely measure only 10".

You bet! Depending on just how bulky it is, you would need to scale down the stitch count. Say instead of the 30 stitches for the top of the bag, make it only 15 stitches across. Have Fun!
Can I make the handles smaller
Oh, absolutely! You just crochet the chain shorter. So instead of 60 or 70 stitches like I did, you could chain 30 or 40 stitches for the straps. Have fun!
I do 50 chain for my handles and they seem the perfect length
